The nibbling! I adopted my girl when she was only a couple of months old. Someone had rescued her from living somewhere under a bridge. She has been with us 8 years now so I suspect she is a teenager by now. I do play her out every evening after dinner. She is very smart and loves her puzzle box. You can watch her assess it from different sides and see she is planning out 2-3 moves ahead for how to get the most treats out. I don't mind the scratches and punctures because I know she doesn't mean anything by it. When we play and she bites she immediately realizes what she did and starts licking it to apologize.
Same here, I have always had dogs, and last week I rescued a stray cat. So much to learn, but it is worth it - she is so grateful and gentle, I am lucky🎉
One of my boys realized humans are different so he'd never love bite or pat me with his paw, he'd poke me with his wet nose until he got cuddles. Sitting beside me. When he was at my feet, not as guard kitty, he was great at hitting the purfect debilitating meow to get me to stop everything. lol. Very talented. If anyone's adopting, I highly recommend Bombays. My Tuxedo and Tabby were outgoing love machines also.
I'm pretty sure my cat sees me more as a possession than a parent, she is big on the high tail greeting and head bunting though. Quite often she will demand pets or press her head against my chest just before she goes outside, I suppose she's marking me so no other cats will move in while she's out.

Sometimes, ..I feel like that during feeding ...6am wake up to eat....6:45 ,play to 7:10...my girls are so pushy at meal time until. they realize I dont always jump when they want something
They seem to see me as a mobile territory as they will follow me way outside their usual hunting grounds (we got a tracker to see where our most adventurous cat was going) if I leave the house while they are around. I often have to walk them back home so they don't follow me too far. They will accompany us 15 minutes walk to the bus stop if we don't.
If you don't want your cat to scratch or bite you when playing, then do not train them that your hand/arm is a toy. So you have to start young. Do not let kittens scratch you when playing. If they target your hand, then you immediately suspend playtime so they do not associate your hand as a toy.
I end up bleeding because he jumps on me with his nails out. It’s not playing. It’s not menace. He just tries to brace himself which ends up in wounds. lol
I play with them with my hand as a toy, just stop when they scratch me, and I say "Ow" or "Hey". I love playing hand games with cats. I'm really fast with my hands, and I appreciate their agility. I train to play with them because I enjoy the game just as much as them.
cats are a trip....I had a cat as a kid..but they were aloof solo animals that showed up for food and did their own thing. Flash forward 30-40 years and my daughter adopts a stray, a year later...finds a stray kitten meowing at the door, then a few weeks later another one...meowing at the door. So we went from no cats...to cats on cats on cats. I'll give my daughter credit ...her cats are extremely affectionate. Even as adults, they are constantly seeking out a warm lap to lay on. You see these videos like "does your cat love you"....yeah amigo.... that is never in doubt with these cats...with 3 of them there is no such thing as alone time, someone is always purring at you and trying to find a place to sit on you. Had I know cats could be as cool as they are...well I guess I would have always had one.
My daughter “rescued” a feral older kitten and due to severe allergies he had to remain outside. He had a house and plenty of love and food but was from a long line of neighborhood ferals and was happy outside as he grew but loved us too. After my momma passed, my daughter moved out of state and it was my dad and me and Karl. Dad still refused to allow Karl inside. I’m a sneaky softy and trained Karl to go straight to my room and straight back out when he wanted. Yes, I’m an adult. I take care of my dad and I must allow the illusion of it being his kingdom to be maintained at all costs! I finally came clean about Karl because I also have a hard time maintaining the illusion because I suck at lying to my dad. 😅 Fast forward. Karl was allowed in. I had to go out of town for 2 mos and when I got back I was informed that “By the way, YOUR cat now likes to have breakfast, lunch and dinner and he likes the canned Friskies brand!” 😂😂 I leave occasionally for a week here and there and Karl spends the entire time on Dad’s lap. But he’s definitely my cat! The illusion is gone!!! It is Karl’s Kingdom. 👑👑👑👑👑👑
My cat Sparks (named after the character in contact.). She is the 2nd best cat I’ve owned, but in reality she owns me. I often say she is a dog in a cat body. Therefore, I take her for walks without a leash because I know she’ll come when I call or she is following me. And when I say “home” she usually standing at the door before I get there. Love my little Bombay.
I understand 'love bites'. But, cats sometimes don't understand that elderly people have very thin skin and that a bite that would be harmless to a younger person CAN draw blood from their elderly cat parents. In these cases, it has to be discouraged.
Our cat love bites me......he also plays tag....which I have figured out not to turn a corner without looking back behide me first....as I try to jump scare him before he tries to jump scare me first lol.....he tags me but never draws blood....but the love of his life is our son....our son has autism...where he is ....his cat George is never far behide him.....One day our son was being bad and my husband went into his room to yell at him.....a mistake he made the cat stepped infront of our son from being yelled at and went after my husband
I was woken up with just my nostrils out of the water by my now deceased calico cat licking my nose. I'd had a seizure that if she'd not woken me I'd have drowned. When I got out of the tub, I was bruised from head to toe. Unfortunately because I wasn't able to get proper testing done earlier and subsequently years later with more seizures happening that cover the full gamat of types I've been now given a clear bill of health. I don't have as many seizures but have been told that it's more than likely a way my body reacts to overwhelming stress.
I have a cat. I was standing, at the wall, talking with my neighbor when this beautiful Siamese cat, SASHAYED on over & declared “I live here & you’re my mommy.” I’m a dog person. Now I have a cat, who acts like a dog!!! I named him Minx, bcuz he wouldn’t tell me his name. Lately I call him “middle”, bcuz that’s where he ALWAYS IS!!! Middle of the hallway, middle of the doorway, middle of the bed, middle of the kitchen, etc. He’s like a dog, bcuz he prefers to do his business outside. I am blessed to have the cleanest, nicest smelling litter box. He goes outside, digs a little hole, does his business & recovers the hole!!! It’s fantastic. He adapted quickly to my non cat friendly home. I didn’t bring him inside, immediately. I introduced him to the house over a 2 week period. He’s absolutely silly, & entertaining. I’m glad he CHOSE me!!!
I've had my 2 black cats since they were just 2 and 1/2 months old. Their mother was killed by an opossum when they and their sibling's eyes were just starting to open. My son sent the possum to possum heaven. They are now 18 and will be 19 on March 7th, 2025. They have been just indoor kids and are the sweetest babies. They have never gone potty anywhere except in their potty box. And I tell them I am "Gramma". I spell it that way because my youngest of 2 sons did several years ago. I also have 1 daughter. I will be 88 years old on January 3rd, 2025. and I am still doing GREAT! 🐈⬛🐈⬛👵My cats Teo, Twotwo and me. P.S. My oldest son named them! I shortened "The Other" to TEO.
I have two cats three and two years of age the three-year-old likes to fight on the two year old, but I think she does that because her sister is too calm and I got it that she trying to keep her tough. Prepare for whatever but it bothers me when she fights her little sister I love my cats to the moon and back.😻❤️
my cat raven doesn’t appreciate closed doors very much. i appreciate privacy, so i close the door anyway, she’ll want in, meows regularly a few times and then literally says “mama?” ts tripped me out for a lil while cause i don’t even call myself mama to her 😭 she’s so smart though i love her C:
One of my neighbours neglected their cat, and he showed up on our doorstep one day. He's visited ever since. The 'owners' refuse to get him treated for injuries and other health issues, and the vets can't help unless permission is given. It's been nearly 7 years, and Biscuit pretty much lives here now. His personality, health and well-being is so much different now. High fives, love bites...the works
I get groomed on a daily basis by my 12 year old tuxedo cat. He does almost all of these behaviors except the biting and finger sucking. His lower jaw was injured when he was young so he doesn’t do these things.
I brought home two brothers from the shelter. Very shortly I had to take one of them to the emergency vet because he had an abscess which was no doubt caused by playing with his brother. and being hooked by accident. Nothing hostile. It's just that they have hooks. I do clip their hooks regularly so they won't hurt each other or their humans or furniture or whatever.
My cats follow me around my six acres. Shot a deer. Didn’t bat an eye. Mow the grass. They respect the mower, but I’m running it and they trust me, so all they do is stay out of the way. Ditto the vacuum indoors, or even the leaf blower. They also frequently come running to meet my car when I come home from work.
Well, this explains a lot about my Angel. Especially the food thing. One of the things I loved about him was he liked the same foods I do. And pork, of all things. ????
We were on holiday and a cat used to come around and after a few days it brought around all of its kittens . We are cat lovers anyway so it was not a problem.
I look forward to try again to raise a Cat and yes, i did try once ...... I cant raise one while under my Mother's for the time being. So, when i have my own place with my significant other, then i will try again 😊
We have a Turkish Angora 3years old and 18 lbs which is only slightly above average for her breed. I know that her breed has some particular traits: must be the alpha cat in their home; is an excellent hunter; tends to bond with only one person; and becomes depressed if her social interactions with her human decrease or stop for any reason. Ours also has some traits we would like to discourage. She is an indoor cat with a kitty door providing access to the backyard during the day. Every morning, her first to-do item is eating grass. Sometimes she vomits hairballs after this, but not often. She loves to watch the neighbors' chickens and brings various food she hunted, into the house to feed us. I guess we aren't good hunters in her eyes. We've found: butterflies; birds; lizards; frogs; grasshoppers; large beetles; and even small snakes. We try to discourage this by putting her catch out the other side of the house so she can't catch it again and praising other behavior. We have 3 other cats in the house. We are at our wits end because none of the other cats can have their own toy, food, sleeping place, or favorite human. That's hard because the other 3 want favorites, too. Any suggestions? The other cats are: a male 1/2 manx weighing 22 lbs; a longhair female tuxedo that is 21 this year and fairly frail; and a Siberian lynx point, actually our Angora's biological mother. The most fighting is between the manx and the lynx point.
well, that explains why I can usually hear a cat's meow. and I always respond. it's a distinct sound that kinda cuts over the din of like 4 guys and a football game, but it's quiet. really weird. like you can barely hear it, but it's clear as a bell like. but then I've always had sharp hearing. it's also why I hate flying on planes.
Since my cat Sasha was 3 weeks old he follows me like a shadow I sit he sits I get up he gets up It's always like that and I can rub the stomachs of my kitties because they open their belly to me
Our three cats have absolutely no separation anxiety, and get along great with our dog, but otherwise, they exhibit all the other behaviors described here.
I always thought when your cat bites you it’s from over stimulation. Now here’s my question, my cat starts drooling (like niagara Falls drooling) when ever I start petting her. What does it mean when your cat is drooling?
sign 1 It usually means that the cat is annoyed and wants to be not petted or even touched anymore for a while. Those "play fights" are not only about fun. They create a "pecking order", meaning who is stronger and who is weaker. It is crucial to teach the cat that it is weaker than a human being. The earlier the lesson the less violence must be used later to show the cat that it is not the boss.
Redirect your kittens to a toy if they play bite,if not they will grow to adulthood and think its ok...i adopted 2 siblings kittens and the boy was a play biter & scratcher.. took 6 mo of redirecting w. Toy & treats .. both are great in that department..
So, my cat came from the streets. He's pretty much still on the streets until bed time and he does his sleep routine laying across my stomach and kneading his pillow and purring while l pet him from head to tail,,,FOR AN HOUR!!!
lmao... 8:00 cats lift their tail when they see you because as a kitten their mom had to lick their butt in order to go to do their thing. That's not horrifying at all, no wonder my cat is always disappointed when he sees me.
So, if I get a kitten, then, it will grow, being used to my verrry iRRreGuLar schedule? You said they will mimic my behavior, eat what I eat, etc, I am a believer that cats can be trained, and for anyone's information, I only like the idea of having the kinds of cats that are dog-like, and floor-dwelling. I like dogs that are chill, and have been investigating various breeds of cats to see which ones would get along in a mellow way cuz I'm kind of a mellow person - besides which, NEED the peace and quiet. I've been investigating the quiet mellow kinds of cats who can live up to these expectations. I've settled on a Maine Coon or the British Shorthair. I am thinking that the Maine Coon would have the size, and the sauce, if need be, to handle the types of dogs that I like, and usually have. Please, someone let me know, am I just dreaming? Can this be a reality?
My 1 year old black cat is a Maine Coon and he is very loving and affectionate but also very lazy he only gets up to eat, drink water, or to come get petted.
Im a new kitty mom, 2 months old and she play bites but always say no and pass her a toy so it doesn’t become acceptable behaviour has she grows, i feed her from my hand only treats but like to clean everything she comes over to watch me, im trying to understand cats has never had one before xxxxx
My best friend "Bucky stew" has had diabetes for 7 years now , but he's doing great . I give him insulin injections 2x a day everyday. People just can't grasp the responsibility and sacrifice i endure for him, yet they have pets they love. Making such a comment, will effect every aspect of one's social life and time frame, but love is the sole driving factor. The Creator gives us gifts that were meant for only us to truly understand the importance.
My cat sleeps all the time. She sleeps anywhere in the house. She's only active a few hours a day in the mornings when she's outside for a couple hours
#12 will not happen if keep one simple rule: Never feed your cats during daylight hours! If you feed them breakfast they will insist that the first crack of dawn is time to eat!
Just curious... Why do cat's "Pad" on you? My cat would wait until I was in bed on my belly reading & jump on my back & massage me... Not that I'm complaining, who doesn't like a back rub! I've heard that it's to soften a surface for them to lay on? Car never did it any other time. Even when I went to bed at midnight! Worse part was? I always feel asleep reading my novel & would wake up with my face in my book! Lol. Also, cat wouldn't sleep on my back. I verify believe it was a Conspiracy to put me to sleep so she could go do naughty things 😭
My feyfey used to sleep in my underwear/sock drawer. When i would come home at night my kids would tell me she would jump up and run to the door and wait for me to come in
My new year old cats primary way of showing affection is licking my hands specifically. I thought cats weren't supposed to do that, which is why I got one of them and not a dog lol. Is this something that will go away eventually?
Our girls each have their own calls . Baby Starr has a very deep meow....stead beat.... my old Girl Rayne .. has an acending and desending meow call ..patern..1 Then, if i dont answer, it becomes faster. I call her, and she runs down and plops down right next to me. My wives kitty Dana has a real sharp and urgent call....we know them apart ...ither through the process of elimination...or by their call. We are their partners...❤
Eveytime my 2 black cats see me 1 makes biscuits and suckles his bed the closer I get he purrs and his sister will jump up and rub against me while purring.

I don't mind the scratches and punctures because I know she doesn't mean anything by it. When we play and she bites she immediately realizes what she did and starts licking it to apologize.
Thank you so much, I’m a first time cat mumma. I’ve always only had dogs so it’s a huge learning curve. This was a good informative video 😊.
how is it going ? is he driving you crazy ?
My girlfriend has a Bombay Brown. And it's adorable. Especially when she being brushed and showing her belly.
I'm pretty sure my cat sees me more as a possession than a parent, she is big on the high tail greeting and head bunting though. Quite often she will demand pets or press her head against my chest just before she goes outside, I suppose she's marking me so no other cats will move in while she's out.
A member of staff of course! 😂
I am staff. ❤😂

Sometimes, ..I feel like that during feeding ...6am wake up to eat....6:45 ,play to 7:10...my girls are so pushy at meal time until. they realize I dont always jump when they want something
I’m not staff, just a slave. Lol
😂
They seem to see me as a mobile territory as they will follow me way outside their usual hunting grounds (we got a tracker to see where our most adventurous cat was going) if I leave the house while they are around. I often have to walk them back home so they don't follow me too far. They will accompany us 15 minutes walk to the bus stop if we don't.
My boy would constantly rub his face into mine and while he did it, he would softly bite my face. I knew it meant love. God, I miss him.
"pathetic human ears" lol
cats are a trip....I had a cat as a kid..but they were aloof solo animals that showed up for food and did their own thing. Had I know cats could be as cool as they are...well I guess I would have always had one.
if I want to get the kitty to come back home .. just jam the acoustic on the porch for a bit ;-)
I know the keyboard walk well!
Puppie will wake me up by nibbling on my jaw… learning the why? this makes me feel special ❤
Fast forward. Karl was allowed in. I had to go out of town for 2 mos and when I got back I was informed that “By the way, YOUR cat now likes to have breakfast, lunch and dinner and he likes the canned Friskies brand!” 😂😂
I leave occasionally for a week here and there and Karl spends the entire time on Dad’s lap.
Love my little Bombay.
wow a whole lot of information in this video, ty
I understand 'love bites'. But, cats sometimes don't understand that elderly people have very thin skin and that a bite that would be harmless to a younger person CAN draw blood from their elderly cat parents. In these cases, it has to be discouraged.
Watch three or four cats circle a dog, the dog knows he's opened up a can of whoop-ass.😅
My baby boy does what I call “air biscuits” it’s absolutely adorable.
I was standing, at the wall, talking with my neighbor when this beautiful Siamese cat, SASHAYED on over & declared “I live here & you’re my mommy.”
I’m a dog person.

Mine woke me up at the same time every day for work but he knew when it was the weekend!
I have two cats three and two years of age the three-year-old likes to fight on the two year old, but I think she does that because her sister is too calm and I got it that she trying to keep her tough. Prepare for whatever but it bothers me when she fights her little sister I love my cats to the moon and back.😻❤️
my cat raven doesn’t appreciate closed doors very much. i appreciate privacy, so i close the door anyway, she’ll want in, meows regularly a few times and then literally says “mama?” ts tripped me out for a lil while cause i don’t even call myself mama to her 😭 she’s so smart though i love her C:
also shout out to my kitty mimi, she’s super cute and cuddly just eats like a horse ❤️
You start playing with your kitten with toys, not your hands.
I mean... If you have weak hands.
Some kittens do love to bite & scratch your hand but it's just playing but redirect them to a toy 🧸 they will grow to adulthood and think that's ok.
i UNDERSTOOD YOU THANK YOU I have a street fur baby....and she actua;lly loves me wow and meow xxx
My cat has marked me as his territory. He also scratches on the door to my room in the mornings so he can plop down on top of me.
I get groomed on a daily basis by my 12 year old tuxedo cat. He does almost all of these behaviors except the biting and finger sucking. His lower jaw was injured when he was young so he doesn’t do these things.
4:02 I never heard of the "silent meow" (sign 4).
My cat does it all the time
Mine Do That Too
Guess my cat hates me
I brought home two brothers from the shelter.
i knew when he does high pitched meows hes saying "mama?"
We were on holiday and a cat used to come around and after a few days it brought around all of its kittens . We are cat lovers anyway so it was not a problem.
i took on a feral kitten and I am the only one that can get close to her she is a beautiful house cat to me
I look forward to try again to raise a Cat and yes, i did try once ...... I cant raise one while under my Mother's for the time being. So, when i have my own place with my significant other, then i will try again 😊
My cat must really really think I’m her mom because I see way more of her butt than her face! 😂🤣😸😹😻
man said “pathetic human ears” on #4 lol
Since my cat Sasha was 3 weeks old he follows me like a shadow I sit he sits I get up he gets up It's always like that and I can rub the stomachs of my kitties because they open their belly to me
sign 7. It also helps keep the predators away by hiding the scent of the kittens!
Our three cats have absolutely no separation anxiety, and get along great with our dog, but otherwise, they exhibit all the other behaviors described here.
Tabby
it's a good thing I have tough skin and a healing factor or something. just kinda try not to flinch and move around as much, but it really hurts.
I always thought when your cat bites you it’s from over stimulation.
Now here’s my question, my cat starts drooling (like niagara Falls drooling) when ever I start petting her. What does it mean when your cat is drooling?
Cute little rascals
sign 1 It usually means that the cat is annoyed and wants to be not petted or even touched anymore for a while. Those "play fights" are not only about fun. They create a "pecking order", meaning who is stronger and who is weaker. It is crucial to teach the cat that it is weaker than a human being. The earlier the lesson the less violence must be used later to show the cat that it is not the boss.
"Pathetic human ears"!!! 😂😂😂❤
Redirect your kittens to a toy if they play bite,if not they will grow to adulthood and think its ok...i adopted 2 siblings kittens and the boy was a play biter & scratcher.. took 6 mo of redirecting w. Toy & treats .. both are great in that department..
'Pathetic human ears' 😂 LMAO
My kitten does all these things and its adorable
My cat used to headbutt so hard your nose would go sideways. he was always an overly affectionate cat to pretty much everything, cept the dog.
Don't delude yourself. Your cat is simply tasting you while it waits for you to die so it can eat you.
So, my cat came from the streets. He's pretty much still on the streets until bed time and he does his sleep routine laying across my stomach and kneading his pillow and purring while l pet him from head to tail,,,FOR AN HOUR!!!
Probably a better idea to make it an indoor only cat its much safer
@@Nikosinyamother No , he has raccoon friends.
@@Nikosinyamother "it"

lmao... 8:00 cats lift their tail when they see you because as a kitten their mom had to lick their butt in order to go to do their thing. That's not horrifying at all, no wonder my cat is always disappointed when he sees me.
Now imagine big cats 😆 🤣 their affection is a dead sentence
So, if I get a kitten, then, it will grow, being used to my verrry iRRreGuLar schedule? You said they will mimic my behavior, eat what I eat, etc,
I am a believer that cats can be trained, and for anyone's information, I only like the idea of having the kinds of cats that are dog-like, and floor-dwelling.
My 1 year old black cat is a Maine Coon and he is very loving and affectionate but also very lazy he only gets up to eat, drink water, or to come get petted.
i want a cat but my dog wont let me get one, so i feed a stray cat every night on the sly ???
i love cats
My cat 😺 lifts weights with me now.
We have a cat that loves Marmite on toast and she appears when the toaster is used.
When i would come home at night my kids would tell me she would jump up and run to the door and wait for me to come in
sign 4, i thought my cat was disabled at meowing. she would open her mouth but no voice would come out...
My new year old cats primary way of showing affection is licking my hands specifically. I thought cats weren't supposed to do that, which is why I got one of them and not a dog lol. Is this something that will go away eventually?
Maybe. My cat still licks me after 13 years. Lol
The example at the end of sign ten makes me sad inside for some reason.
Eveytime my 2 black cats see me 1 makes biscuits and suckles his bed the closer I get he purrs and his sister will jump up and rub against me while purring.
She is i'll. Everyone gets this sign even those who are playing for It.
the hired help😂
1. Your kitten tries to get milk from you
I attract cats. Cats see me as a sucker. 😂
Oh as a servant, as a servant!
