BF 4.4.0 has a bug in GPS rescue that can cause the quad to disarm above the ground and crash. This is fixed in 4.4.1. You should flash 4.4.1, not 4.4.0 like I do in this video. I have confirmed that the Flywoo 4.4.0 CLI dump should work fine on 4.4.1. Just do exactly as I do in this video, except flash 4.4.1.
Just got my first 03 unit. Djis instructions were already wrong about canvas mode. Telling me to enter cli commands that are no longer available since beta 4.4 added the option in the ports tab. Still can't install assistant 2 on any of my MacBook pros, so my buddy has to update all my dji stuff. And now, I find out my goggles v2 delete all my binds every single time I switch modes. Ugh 🫣

@@imignap reloading your presets would be ideal. I’m just following what flywoo’s manual said. Plus, they only have 4.4.0 CLI…so it won’t be 100% correct, but better than losing gyro and accel doing auto detect.
4.4.2 is released 6/1/2023 what i did differently Selected flywoo405PRO board Looks like config text for ports peripherals changed, so loading from configs will fail to get osd working. To fix: ports -> UART3 in peripherals -> change from disabled to 'VTX - (MSP + DisplayPort)' Test flight - no issues, gps and sesnors good. Didn't try gps return to home
I also flash 4.4.2 today and no issue with OSD, 'VTX - (MSP + DisplayPort)' was correctly selected but in the OSD tab video format is still Auto by default

Just a bit confused here. Is the BF upgrade process shown here for all the current versions of the LR4 or just the HD dji 03 version. I.e. I have the newest analog version 2.2 and am not sure if this update process applies to my quad as well. I suspect that it does but I want to be sure.
Just watcged Limon's review of this and was surprised to see it came with BF4.3. I figured that was why you had the GPS weirdness that you did and am glad you are doing this video now! Just started watching and I'm hoping to see that you figured out the issue and showed a solution before it ends.
The GPS weirdness is still there in 4.4.1 - not the disarming before landing, but the pitching back and forward. I read the Betaflight wiki and it's apparently normal!
Thank you for this video Joshua! Seems like Flywoo has done a good job providing proper CLI dumps. I tried to upgrade iFlight iH3 from 4.3 to 4.4.1 and stuck with no barometer, GPS, Servos and half of settings wiped. Couldn't even connect receiver. Any clues how to do this for iFlight F7 controllers?
Would you increase the PID loop to 4khz on this setup te reduce vibration (i have crazy amounts with this quad). And is Dshot higher then 300 also an option?
@DuneRunner FPV I tried A few times. We forced other target the f745 nano. Then dev were helping me change resources and timing . And always one motor wouldn't work 😭 Maybe if we complain to flywoo enough flywoo will work to figure it out

Hi I just purchased this drone and I’m new to fpv. For some reason when I connect it to beta flight configuration it says it has flywoo7 firmware at 4.4.3 ( can’t recap as I’m not in front of my pc at the moment) and when I try to flash to fly woo 405pro it says fair to find firmware. And defaults back to flywoo7 4.4.3. And when I try to import the both cli one from beta flight and the osd cli from this video it just disconnects and reconnects the drone and any osd change is wiped. Is someone available to help a noob understand this I want to get it flight ready. I am willing to give some money for assistance.
I cannot get my DJI 03 air unit to go into bind mode. There are no lights/red light. The drone works and the DJI 03 air unit is plugged directly to the drone via the ports that it has and not a USB system to my computer.
How do you like the tune on the Flywoo explorer. Is it good? Would you suggest it over the standard BF tune or over any of the other presets you can select? And do you set the esc to 48khz and bidirectional dshot? Sorry for all the questions haha.
Flywoo send it with the ESC flashed with bluejay and set to 48khz pwm and with bi-di d.shot all set up! And their tune seems decent too, although I'm looking to see if there's a tune anywhere for the heavier li-ion packs.

!!** Just a heads up to anyone trying to get the mag in the WS GPS to work - my BNF ordered in early June from RDQ has only 4 wires connected to the FC instead of 6. The mag will NEVER work no matter how hard you try - BTDT. I'm waiting on a response from Flywoo but this is no bueno for those hoping to run INAV.
(I know it's been a month, but just in case) you probably flashed the wrong target. For some reason the board might get autodetected as F405 instead of F405PRO or vice versa. Check which one you have a flash the correct one
I want to use 50hz on my LR quad and 150hz on all my other quads. I thought I could bind a model in EdgeTX with 50hz and bind a model with 150hz. But it appears that the packet rate doesnt change with the model. And If I would change a quad and forget to change the packet rate, it could have flight issues right? Because in Betaflight the quad has also flashed the packet rate preset.. Is there a way to make this more easy?
Anyone buying one should most definitely grab a copy of the cli dump on their site before they remove it. Because just imagine them leaving cli dumps for the previous 3 iterations of this drone available. Yeah imagine that..

Now drone doesn’t recognize tx or anything. Fc led stays red. Not sure what i did wrong, any help is appreciated

You searched for, "How to upgrade flywoo explorer lr4 to betafligh 4.4," but then Instead of following the video's instructions, you post a comment saying that you did something else, and now your drone doesn't work. How about you watch this video and do what this video says to do. Like ... honestly I just don't even know what to say. If I read that wrong and you are actually trying to follow the video, the place you went wrong is in pasting back in the CLI diff from 4.3 to 4.4. That's not what the video has you do. It has you download a factory CLI dump and install it.

please read: (Flywoo are being very dodgy) funny thing I purchased this explorer lr4 03 air unit and a venom "different orders" however they were close to each other.of my thoughts even though they have been great quads all in all I was a preorder and they advised I would be buying it with a Roku f745 they however still haven't changed the web site support page proving what I say to reflect from745 to 745. they did however change all advertising etc luckily I save snapshots of all the online invoices now. they admitted it saying they had trouble with the f745. they will not honour the change and give me Roku f745 flight controllers advising well they do wha they need too so what the problem. I advised I will utilise these later when I no longer fly these drones and is a big decision choice when purchasing. they seem to be constantly doing things like this they need to be watched closely by everyone. the thing is they make really great stuff however they are not following the after service that is so important. Stick with the comfortable v2 goggles that don’t fog up & can see the image edges clearly

How do you wire up a 30 amp Brushless motor esc to a Walkera Devention DEVO RX701 and a mini k-bar

You need to plug in a battery to power up the O3. Sometimes people try to bind using USB and it doesn't work like that.

Supafly has a preset that works amazing on the Explorer.

Using the ports tab turns off telemetry.
The firmware target was changed from 4.3 to 4.4.
