I tried fostering a Pitt but failed. 12 yrs later I still have her, loving on her like the first day. She was the missing piece in my life. Now her paw print is embedded in my soul.
I am the same type of fosterer like you. Once I have them I dont want to give them up.

lorilemonade yeah, other shelter will take in atleast a week or two for a dog, if there is no know adoptor, these dogs will be put down..& knowing that they r together in one cage❣️💞

I'm a 55 year old man, who loves dogs more than I love people in most cases. I was crying from the start, and cried more at the end when they found the right place for them. Sooo very happy for them. May they live a long happy life!!!

We could all agree that animals never hurt, betray or use their family. They love unconditionally. Those of us who love unconditionally are not the human norm. Ergo we are emotionally attached to our fur-kids forever. Our love endures beyond death.

I’ve been tempted several times to keep some of the dogs I foster. When you pick them up from the shelter most of them are a wreck. They have a multitude of health problems from lack of care. What I enjoy most about fostering is watching the transformation from sick, undernourished, and beat down to a happy, healthy, loving dog. 🙂

I will never understand the people who think that dogs are disposable. The bonds that they have with us, it's so strong that when you abandon them it's as if you've abandoned a three-year-old child of yours. They don't understand what they did wrong to be in the situation that they're in, why you don't love them anymore, why they can't come home... It's truly one of the most heartless things a human being can do. Thank you so much for taking these two beautiful souls in and nursing them back to health.

The dogs are kind of like human children. Too many of them are treated just as bad and aren't able to understand what they did wrong. Children and animals aren't at fault. It's whoever treated them as disposable. It's a sad world and just gets sadder all the time. Okay. I've completely bummed myself out. Think I'll cry.

The difference pure love can make. Their transformation is almost magical.
I just feel so sad that one of them is eventually going to pass away first,& wonder how the other dog will handle it. I think it would probably be a good idea if they got one other dog so that the last one will not feel so alone.😢

I’m fostering kittens right now for the first time. I’ve had them since they were 3 weeks old, and they are the most social and loving kittens. It’s hard to imagine letting them back into the shelter next week week because I love them so much. I can’t take them though. And I have to remind myself that I’ve made them adoptable given them a chance-- she’s right, you do want to control where they go to because you want them to have perfect homes.

Heart warming, I like at last she said “now, the whole world is theirs.”
These poor dogs seemed to have been abused and had separation anxiety. I've seen it in two dogs that I fostered. Their owner had passed away and his son literally "kicked " them out of the house. It was witnessed by a neighbor when I went and inquired. But the son denied ever hitting them and the neighbor was scared of him also. So when I called the police only a report was taken and animal abuse department declined an investigation.
But the son made the mistake of pushing my wife to the ground after the police officer left. I didn't say a word, marched up to my wife and helped her to the truck. Then as he cursing me, I turn about face and immediately closed distance and give him a 20 second lesson of respect . The dogs lived with us and were loved very much. I'm now old and waiting for my time. It's ok. I've had a long life.
So glad these guys found a great home. And to those that abuse animals or a child , well you will face God someday. Roman's 14:12.

Because having ears in a dog fight is a disadvantage, also there is a myth that clipping the ears make the pitty more obedience. It’s sad but those are the main 2 reason
@@vincemok3441 Yeah, I knew the dogfights one but those people are pretty cruel so I can believe they'd clip the ears just for the heck of it. I meant pet owners who clip ears for the sole purpose of making them look meaner or based on false rumors.

We have fostered dogs for about 3 or 4 years. I remember each and every one of them, their names, their personality. We eventually ended up foster failures. With the first adopted dog we still fostered another, sometimes even 2 fosters. Then the second foster failure happened. I have to say that in my own experience, fostering dogs is the most satisfying thing I have done in my life. I knew that the dogs we fostered were probably saved from being euthanized. They all found loving families. I can so recommend it.....

we dont know the other person's story. they probably did the best thing they could do. if they couldn't care for the animal it was better than leaving them on the streets to fend for themselves. after all, look where this decision led the dogs to, a perfect outcome.

I've got tears in my eyes. Thank you. I have had dogs most of my life, even took a dog to Guam. My husband & I were stationed on Adak Island Alaska. That was the only place we didn't have a dog. My current dog is Layla & a shelter rescue. Currently live in San Diego.
