How emotionally intelligent of the woman to realize that the harness still felt like a restriction to Wally! Dogs communicate to us in so many ways and I’m happy she picked up on it. Thank you for rescuing this beautiful boy!!❤❤❤

My dog also doesn't like a collar harness and he just sits still or lays down. So we have to use a body harness instead for walks

The best thing you can do for a pup from a shelter is have what I call an old salt dog for them to learn from. ❤❤❤❤

So much like my recent shelter rescue, Simon!! It's been five weeks, although still afraid of people, he is playing and making great progress.

Molly and Wally, love their names. Thanks to everyone who gives these animals a second chance. All of my cats and dogs I’ve had are from the shelter. Except for the dog that we had as kid, which was found on the side of the road in a paper bag alongside her brother.

Dogs are truly the purest form of unconditional love that we can find on this side of heaven. I adopted a shelter puppy in the beginning of April and she saved my life. I'm not minimizing anyone's struggles and battles as we all go through the churn. I take no joy in saying this, but I've endured more torturous, brutal health problems that led me to needing six abdominal surgeries, having get of my digestive system removed, having any ostomy bag with my intestines outside my body, sepsis, multiple organ failure, and the list goes on. My wife also left me three days before Thanksgiving last year and the divorce will be finalized shortly. I've had more pain than few can even imagine, and the love of my dog is literally the best part of my life and really only part of my life that brings me happiness. Even now, she's laying here next to me and loving me. She means the whole world to me and there isn't a moment that goes by that I'm not thankful for being her dog daddy. Even in typing this, she got up from my side and came to lay across my chest with her head on my shoulder. I took her to Target earlier to get some steps in and for her to love on people as she simply adores people. I've never met a more loving dog my entire life and quite literally everyone that meets her falls in love with her immediately. When I met her at the foster's house for the first time, it truly was love at first sight. My love for her grows every day and she makes me a better man. We aren't good enough to have animals like dogs that love us so purely, but God loves us so much He gave us companions that will love you through the worst times and best times.
I look to the day when no animal will have to be afraid and just full of joy and at peace with the world.
It does take special, dedicated people to help transition frightened animals into loving pets.
Fortunately he now has a loving and dignified home 😄🐶💖👍

I can’t understand how people can abandon their pets. This may not be his case, but it’s so sad just the same. Thank you for everyone involved in his rescue, especially his fosters & Molly too. I was the 4th adopter for my little girl in 4 years. Now I've had her 4 years. I'll never give her up. But she was scared when poop was stuck on her bum. Thought she was going to get in trouble. I wiped her bum, hugged & kissed her. She was so happy and so proud that her Mom wiped her bum. She's the quirkiest little dog I've ever had and I'll love her forever.
It’s happy days from now on with this family , He will never have to worry about being alone again.

A lovely, friendly dog. All you needed was patience to let him know that he was loved.
He is gorgeous. It brought tears to my eyes when Molly was kissing her momma and he immediately kissed his momma. I LOVE Wally was a foster fail.
These are good people to be patient and give Wally time and a safe place to just be a sweet doggie.
Love when fosters end up adopting them! Some cases, it seems almost cruel to adopt a dog out once it begins to trust.
And then they say Pitties are dangerous. It's just a dog. Willing to love anyone who will take care of him. It's such a pleasure to give dogs the love they need, they will return more than you give love in return.

that breaks my heart to see a dog literally shake that they are so scared even after months around loving people. I adopted a german shepherd who was beat and lit on fire by some pos and I have to rock him to sleep and hold him when he wakes up cuz he has nightmares. poor puppy! I love dogs!
They all just need love and some treats. And thats enough.

He was a stray,not feral. A feral animal is born outside with little or no human contact. He had a family at one time. My cat was the same. She was a stray from about 6 months to a year and a half. She hid under the cabinets for almost a weeks. She was especially scared of men, but fell in love with my son. Her anniversary of coming to live with us is next month. Hopefully she’ll have many years with us. I love how pets take cues from each other. They realize it can’t be too bad if the other dog is happy.
There is a special place in heaven for such people! ❤ Amen

Yeah. We had one like this. Took eight months to get her out of her defensive shell. But we did. She did. And now she is just the loveliest dog. Same color as yours.

Freedom and love is always the key to a lasting relationship. :) (He had a collar digging into his neck for years....so glad that they connected the dots and got rid of the harness...and hopefully, the collar! :)).
