Given her beliefs, I'm surprised the owner lets the dog in the same room as the husband. He's an inevitable abuser even though the dog seems happy in his company. God only knows what that woman is teaching our children.
I was going to say the same thing. When you create a bond with a dog... they do become you. You have a bad day and so do they and Visa versa. You become them also and more more connected to them.
The two of you are going to have a great relationship. Believe me though, there are many people out there that feel nobody could love their dog more than you. We are out here and we are the ones responding to your vid. My dogs are my life.

I 100% understand what she said about how much the dog means to her. My dog is everything to me. He’s a little Pomeranian and recently got attacked and hurt bad, I literally have PTSD from it now. I’d do anything for him even if it means going into debt for his health and always putting him first before me. I’m happy she found her dog.

My Lobito was the male Maya's version. He had a rough past, and he was so neglected when I found him, but after a couple of moths, he started living with my family and me. He just started shining and showing his fantastic beautiful character and personality. He went to live with god three weeks ago, and there is not a single day that passes without missing him. He was our Maya. He was amazing. Thanks for adopting and loving her.
Dogs are a gift, I just wish they had a longer life span. I'm 70 yrs old and have watched 4 great dogs like yours grow old and die all around 14 yrs old. It's like losing a family member when they pass. I have an 8 yr old now and she's a sweetheart. I just got back from taking her for a ride which she enjoys especially when she gets a treat at the drive thru.
Her crooked teeth are the cutest thing ever, so glad you found her & she found you!

This is exactly the same kind of relationship I have with my adopted dog, Lucy. As I watched this video I kept thinking that this woman is telling mine and Lucy's relationship. Lucy has the same personality as Maya and she is my heart ❤️. I can't even begin to imagine my life without her. This story is my story and it touched me so much and has made my day!

Maya caught on camera, quietly standing wagging her tail, just staring at mom & waiting for her to wake up made my heart explode.
My 4 legged soulmate was a chow/samoyed mix. He also had extraordinarily expressive eyes.
Maya reminds me a lot of him.

Ahhh, this story reminds me of my Buddy boy. Maya's facial expressions are so similar to Buddy's. Buddy is a chow/ retriever lab mix. That explains the many similarities. One can easily tell what a strong bond you and Maya have. You are both amazing.🥰 All the best and I wish Maya a long life with you by her side.

its not weird at all to feel connected to a dog on a deeper level, dogs are living beings with emotions and personalities, just the same as a human. feeling like a dog represents you just means you empathize with them, you understand they have had some of the same hardships as you, and you want to show them that they can overcome these hardships and be happy. dogs are more than just instinctive creatures, they have feelings and emotions and unique personalities, and need to be understood that way. give them love, and they will repay it tenfold.

Absolutely not crazy that you are one in the same! I feel the exact same way about my Mini & can completely relate to everything you said! My baby definitely rescued me & had brought me morn happiness than anything ever has or ever will. Loving our fur babies so much that it hurts is absolutely true! I’m so glad you have each other! ❤

Those of us who have been “owned” by four legged “people” get EVERY single thing you said in this video. I have 2 Husky daughters that i love like as if I birthed them. The ones that have passed on, have destroyed my heart, and it takes years to recover. I’m never fully recovered when I lose one, but i take my time grieving then allow my heart to open once again (even though I tell my husband “ I CANT do this again, no more) and alas , I have a new fur child in the family again until their last breath, they’re loved massively and unconditionally. They give me way more than i give them.
My husband calls dogs "bark angels" and says that if we get to heaven dogs will be running it.❤

I understand! I had a rescue for 10 years, Pierre was 14 when he died! I'm 76 and thought no-one could replace him! But I was so lonely. I started fostering senior dogs and I swear he sent me a 10 year old very scared but very loving foster who never left my side! She bonded in minutes and it only took me a few days! I couldn't let her go! I'm so lucky happier and I swear Sylvie is too!! And I know Pierre approves and knows he's always in my heart!
I totally get Maya's mom. She is beautiful inside and out. Maya is her best friend. When she said she can tell in Maya's eyes what she's feeling I understand. There is nothing weird about love and companionship. Only sensitive people can have this connection with a dog and she is blessed for it.

My Maya was Natasha, an Australian Shepherd mix who passed away 15 years ago at age 16. I swear that she was somehow wired into my neural system, I could literally think what I wanted her to do, and most of the time she would do it without a word spoken. Never has a guy and a dog been closer, although many have been just as close. She was what I call "The One", you get a dog like that only once in your life. When you lose them, it hurts worse than losing most family members, and you think that you will never love another, or maybe that was it - I'm done with them now. But then another little bundle of love comes along, and here we go again.
