- Sapphire was so lucky to be spotted by a Hope For Paws fan who was visiting from the state of Oregon and knew that we were close by.

Sapphire had a terrible break in her foot, and as soon as I saw her X-ray, I knew that I need to rush her to Doctor Antonio Pedraza. The X-ray will blow your mind... the before and after is one of the most amazing I have ever seen.

Poor dog 😔 thank you for everything 👏👏👏500 dogs thrown into a dump in our city. These dogs were left to die in this dump. I share these hungry dogs videos on my youtube. I'm spelling petitions and complaints about this topic. I wrote the petition for shelter and neutering to the government. 😔

I'm wondering if they couldn't afford the vet bill. Emergency care is so expensive, I know I've gone into debt because of unforseen vet visits.
That's why one job of a rescuer or rehabilitator, is education. That works better than condemnation.

And if you don't microchip your pet, then it is not a lost pet. It is an abandoned one because the owner did not care to get it microchipped so he/she would be notified of the pet's location. People need to understand that it does not matter whether you forgot, did not realize the importance of microchipping. You have still abandoned the pet.

I microchipped one of my dogs.
I have 2 dogs.
One is rescued from a high kill shelter. The shelter already microchipped him.
Second one, I got it as a gift. I microchipped her.
The dog could have been injured and the owner couldn't afford the bill to fix it and so abandoned the dog. Around here, it can cost you up to $100 to 'turn over' your pet to a shelter for re-homing if you can no longer take care of it yourself. A LOT of pet owners can't afford this, so the pet gets driven out into the 'countryside' and left there for some one else to deal with.

This shows just what kind of gentle soul Sapphire is! And to think someone just dumped her. They were so stupid to toss her out!
She might not have been dumped. Dogs escape and get lost too.
I think she clearly had an owner that loved her. She doesnt look neglegted or traumatised as much as other rescue dogs.
That is why you need to microchip your pets. I remember when i was a kid people would get the dog's serial number tatooed in the ear or inner thigh (same number as in the chip except you type it instead of scanning) i returned dogs to their owners 3 times in my lifetime this way.

Dr. Antonio Pedraza, I believe his name is. He's also gone on a couple of rescues w/ Eldad: very awesome and very caring surgeon. He's pretty special!!
I looked at that X-Ray and I had no hope, it looked like an amputation case. But Eldad knew this surgeon could repair the fracture, and went directly there.
Been a subscriber for a long time now and it's honestly simply a joy to know I help with my tiny bit per month. $5 is not insignificant for me but I truly have never regretted a dime. Thank you for all you do...I will remain a lifelong subscriber. Please people, give ANYTHING you can...you will be saving lives!!!

I recently had to put down my best friend of 15 years my pitbull Miss Rosie.I wish I could donate but I will be rescuing another pit very soon from our kill shelter and need every penny of my disability for that. Maybe the owner was a young woman who got sick with breast cancer and died a horrible death.
