Great video and Totally agree. Strike was designed for Shapovalov to wean him off ALU when he switched to Yonex. It's the ALU killer with better feel and what's more important, far better tension maintenance.

Fully agree with your top 3. Strike is like a better Polytour Pro, still soft but better control and tension maintenance for big hitters. Rev is nice feel but spin is terrible. I didn’t find any extra spin vs Polytour Pro. I like the Polytour Pro in blue, it’s softer than the yellow.

Yeah...agree..been using Strike for a while. Had an amazing first impression. I was picking my spots and executing them so well. You won't get much spin indeed so you'll have to generate that on your own. Easier with a racket like Vcore (which is my racket too).
Agree with Pro being 2nd...amazing feel on this one but the 3rd time you'll play with it the tension goes dead. Unless you string often, don't recommend it for that reason. So it's not about breaking them (I haven't broken a string in 15 years) but tension maintenance

Thats exactly the reason I switched from polytour pro and ended up trying strike.. Very good decision in the end.. also using vcore

Agree.. I just switched from polytour pro to strike in my yonex vcore 100.. I am now going on court to experiment with strike in mains and pro in crosses to see if I can get a little bit more spin, but unless it gets a good deal of it,
Ill just stick with the full bed and enjoy the control

Very thoughtful video. I'm trying Poly Tour Pro yellow 16L this weekend for the first time in my V-Core 98 (previously used orange PT Rev, absolutely loved the spin, especially on kick serves, but I want a little more feel/control). This video makes me think I might try Poly Tour Strike in 17 gauge at a lower tension at some point to maybe draw out a little more spin (I'm a little concerned about losing spin potential with the PT Strike). Thanks as always for a great video!

Good vid. Never tried strike but heard it’s stiff and not much spin. Rev and drive are my favorites for my ezone 100. I do think rev is a bit too muted and not enough response. Drive has crazy spin and power along with being responsive. So easy to play with. Strange it’s firm but pockets well and soft at same time! Can’t beat price too. Good control also. Update: just tried strike and it was awesome!! Better spin than I thought and good pace. Good feel without being harsh! Might be my go to now for my ezone

Surprised by the results! Not tested Strike yet. However, I have my hours with PTPro, PTFire and PTRev. Really surprised 2 of you don't like Fire. I enjoy Fire more than PTP and by far more than PTRev. Think the spin from Fire is solid, it's the closest to Head Lynx Tour from the Yonex line imo. Did not like Rev much at all, felt very average. All tested with Vcore100 as it's my current racket. Just ordered Toroline KPOP and Restring Zero from you guys, so will be interesting to see if I like that in my Vcore!

@@ph-tennis Lynx Tour Orange 1.25 has been and still is my favourite string! Funny how some people love it, and some people don't. Think it complements the Vcore100 a lot, giving good ballpocketing and loads of spin. Will be fun to see how the Toroline and Restring can compete with that.

@@nakmuay5034 Wrong. Spinwise, sure it's close. But Lynx Tour is one of the most durable strings in the business when it comes to string tension. PTSpin has crap durability.

It really depends on your play style which is the best string for your game and of course how stiff your racquet is e.g. you don't want to put ina full bed of stiff poly in a very stiff frame

    • @ph-tennis

Really difficult to say, especially as none of us are huge Lynx Tour fans. In terms of spin creation, then PT Spin is close, durability, you're looking somewhere closer to Strike. To me, Lynx feels very robust, so maybe even something as stiff as Tough. Interested to know what others think on this

I feel like in most of these string rating videos, the reviewers are falling for the marketing. Do you really think poly tour rev has better spin than poly tour fire? I don't think so at all. I also think fire has a wonderful crisp feeling, and rev feels mushy plasticky and blah. Haven't tried the others, but these guys have lost their credibility for me.

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Oh no...Fire better than Rev? Maybe you've just lost credibility with us...
Do we think Rev has better spin than Fire? Yes. On this day at this time.
We tested all the strings in the same frames and offered our opinion. Not sure how marketing could be involved as all the strings are from the same brand!
