    Will it be worth waiting for the new Radical? The 2023 version is available at some places for €170-190, will the (almost certain) big difference in price for the new ones be worth the wait?

    two different strings Head Lynx gives more power then Babolat RPM Blast (more control) at same tension. So you guys are also reviewing the strings and not only the rackets as you do not have same strings in the two rackets you are comparing.

    What if you put a really slick or round poly in the crosses, like Wasabi X or something like that?

  • @geoffreyhuysman3632
    @geoffreyhuysman3632 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    The best way to go is Nat Gut 4lbs higher than you would with your typical poly in the mains. To hold down its power. With a Rough in the crosses. For example Rpm Blast Rough which is roughly 40% cheaper than it's Luxilon Counterpart. Also, Gut in crosses is a total waste of Gut. It's a lack of respect for gut. If you prefer it in crosses, than just use a god damn syn gut, multi or soft poly. Question 2: If the Shift is supposed to be a better racket than the Vcore. Why are you guys playing the Vcore hahah?

    Both Alu Power and NG are relics of the past. NG is way, way WAAAYYY too powerful for me, I even tend to overshoot with poly/poly blend. Only thing to avoid it is playing calm and loose like in warmup. Alu Power is just god awful after 10 strokes or something. Loses it way too fast. Unplayable after sitting in the racquet for 10 hours or 30 minutes of hitting. There are way better options. Or be Roger Federer and change racquets every 9 games. Which I will never do. My strings are from September and still hold on like new. That´s the way to go. Besides: A NG hybrid would bend your racquet after that amount of time. Especially if hybrided with Alu Power.

    Thank you for the video, great topic! You both mentioned that you prefer the gut/poly hybrid over full bed of gut. Would you prefer the gut/poly hybrid over a full bed of poly? Does having gut in the crosses improve the power and feel of the string bed significantly or is it very subtle?

  • @CH-yp5by

    The trick is to have a stiff poly at mid tension in the cross which does not lose tension quickly but increases control. `When the poly dies you only need to get the poly cut out and string the cross, its half the price for the string and labor. The tension difference between the cross and mains will be more than enough to provide loads of snap back which helps generate spin provide your technique is good.

    Nice experiment lads! Quick question about longevity: my understanding is that Alu Power performance disappears after a very short rime on the court whereas VS Gut lasts a lot longer. In your experience, which configuration maintains its playability longest (if it’s not the same) and can you guesstimate a playing time for all three configs? Cheers

    • @ph-tennis
      @ph-tennis วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great questions.... Correct Alu Power Tension Maintanace is not the best... We haven't done the testing to say for sure; but I would expect to get up to 6 weeks of decent playability from both configs (Playing 3-4hrs a week) I would think the Gut Mains/Poly 's would last longer in the playability stakes.

    I recently switched from the Speed MP 2024 to the Blade 100 v9. And quite honestly, I haven’t looked back. The Speed felt like I was swinging a club with how sluggish it was with the high SW, and my shots were way too launchy and hard to control, essentially forcing me to hit loopy topspin in order to keep the ball in. The Blade is loaded with control, gives me surgical precision on shots, better for drive/striking and flat hitting, and just felt so nice to swing through the air. Two things I miss about my speed mp, admittedly, is how forgiving it felt on off center hits, and just how stable it felt on contact with every ball. I think the speed tries to do everything without truly having an identity, but it definitely has its fans, and I tried so hard to like it and just in the end felt right at home with the Blade

    Hey Joe: What strings are you using on your Ezone 98's preferably on the non-Tour? I'm using Tout Bite but experimenting with 17 Soft and 16L just to cut down a bit on the pop. Thanks!!!

      I prefer a control-based string in my Ezone 98 as I like to have some of the power reigned in. At the moment I'm using ReString Sync (1.20) at 50lbs and I love it.

    Nice vid! For those that find the Ezone 98 still way too powerful, what would be a good alternative? The Blade?

      Yeh for sure - or maybe a Vcore 98 may sit between a Blade and Ezone!

    While I generally like the Head Radical what I didn’t like were those “sound grommets” Head out that produced a pitched sound at impact that was distracting.
