@sybrandaan4577 I'm still trying to figure out my setup! I have one strung with tour bite 18g, and one with pt. Both play well in their own way, but I feel like a stiffer more controlled shaped string works well, because the racquet provides decent power and is comfortable. I'll be trying lynx tour next, simply because the champaign string color would look so excellent on this racquet, and I already like how it plays. Going soft with pt is also nice, because it just enhances the racquet to deliver a very pleasant feel striking the ball.

Yeah striking through the ball and being more flat-aggressive with more finishing at net. I'd rather use angles and spin to spread the court, which I can do more confidently with both the PS97 and VC95 even though they are also attacking frames.
❤ your use of the term 'sportscar racquet' at 3:19. Every racquetoholic has at least one frame that feels better at impact than any other but which is suboptimal in competition, often bc it's a bit tiring for match play. (Mine is the Prestige Tour 2021.)
Do you guys also use your sportscar as a training racquet? The extra 10 grams trains me to set up early and stop muscling the frame thru (which I have an unfortunate tendency to do).
@@brandomaxwell I wish I had the discipline to focus on one racket for training. I always end up using 4-5 different frames every hitting session 😅. I also like how hefty rackets make me work on my swinging technique (both for handling it properly and for keeping the ball in), although then on matches it's hard to avoid muscling the frame on certain uncomfortable balls. I also appreciate low SW rackets while training, as they allow me to swing wildly at the ball and practice more on the precision of my swing and contact point.
Hey Becket, if you were to string a PA98, what tension would you recommend for each setup? 1) Full O-toro (Tension?) 2) O-toro Mains / Sync Crosses (Tension?) 3) Full M8 (Tension?) Also, considering I have just bought a reel of S7T, would OT/S7T be similiar to OT/Sync? (ik you dont recommend S7T for the PA98 but since Sync and S7T are both stiff, idk) Thanks in advance, Becket!
I'd string them all at 50lbs in the Aero 98 and would probably go S7T/Toro instead to get the slickness in the crosses. I find that usually leads to better playability.
S7T not a good cross, slick enough for a full bed to work well but not the slickest poly out there (or above average either). Also even if it's "only" 7-sided, edges feel pretty sharp to me. Big hitter silver (the round version of S7T) would work much better as a cross and is much closer to Sync.
The bolt springs are just a rehash of the old volkl catapult technology. They are still using it in the V4 racquet, which looks to be very similar to the bolt. You should give that a try.
Any thoughts on the Tecnifibre TF40 305 vs. the Solinco Whiteout? The frame geometry looks almost identical, and both are foam-filled, mid-60 stiffness rackets in the 305-gram, 98-inch meta. Ironically, the 16x19 TF40 and the 18x20 Whiteout are probably closer in playability than if you compare the same string pattern between the two different frames.
I've never hit a TF40 I've liked. The all swing clunky and slow to me with a smaller sweetspot. I tried the newest version with the camo paint and couldn't jive at all.
Not really. I have a first impressions style video available for members, I talk about it in my Pure Rush review and a bit in the Icons video with Winners Only, but I wanted to do something really special for this racquet, put too much pressure on myself and then procrastinated it
Hahaha. Connors has used the whackiest set of racquets ever, T2000 and Prince Mono amongst others, imagine what he could have accomplished with a decent racquet!!??

I was trying to setup a BP test for when I was down at TW, since they don't sell those frames in Canada, but sadly the scheduling just didn't work out so I couldn't make it happen. I have some leads on some local ones which I might explore in the new year as well, but also string content has really been on the mind lately, so it might just be a quick members initial impressions type thing depending on how timing works out
Quick question, I was thinking about a spin build and was contemplating which strings to purchase. I’ve somewhat settled on Solinco Confidential mains and restring zero crosses. Any input as to if this could work? I’m not a professional on strings by any means so the help would be wonderful!
yeah this would be v good. Probably won't give you more pure spin than a full bed of zero but the extra control might help you with confidence so you can swing faster and get more spin that way
Have you compared the whiteout 18x20 to the 18x20 xtd? Recently switched to the xtd from the regular 18x20 and am absolutely loving the XTD with a full bed of tour m8.
Yeah I love both. Just didn't want to stick with the XTD because I review so many standard length frames that I didn't want to be constantly adjusting.
@TennCom ahhh that's very fair. I don't like customizing my rackets and felt that the normal length was just a tad anemic for what I wanted, and the XTD bridged that gap perfectly without needing any extra customizing. Also serving feels so nice with it, so much free power.

I think you should go based off how you like to win points. Is the BH slice really a big point winner for you? Or do you win more using topspin forehands and buildings angles? Alternatively you could wait for the Gravity 98 which is a perfect middle ground between the two and IMO a better all around frame than both
@@TennComnever thought of the gravity being a balance of those but its cool to hear that, I've never felt actively drawn to it but then again I haven't hit with it before, I know the VDM in the Yonexs isn't everyone's favorite but it felt connected for me and really made me go "dang everything's going in"; but all in all slices aren't a huge point winner, I will say that I work better with backhand dropshots and slapping backhands a bit flatter (for point winning), but I love getting spin for my forehand and want to get better with the angles aspect
Dunlop fx 500 isn't a fair comparison to pure drive imo. Its power is much more erratic and stringbed really inconsistent. If you hit lower end of the hoop racket feels like the clash v1. I love the Ezone 100 too but with higher balls (shoulder height) on my backhand I miss the plow. Something a Shift 315 has plenty of in that situation. Even the Speed Pro helps me too just swing fully without hesitation. My last buy the Strike 98 (24) 16/19 is the most fun, with plow, but least control of these four. Cant decide so keep them all as my daily driver 😄
Two "breakthroughs" that made my Ezone 100 better (as OHBH allcourt player and 50% double player): 1. Leather grip 2. Either low tension "feel" poly (I use PT Spin/Air 46/42) or gut/stiff poly (I use VS/RPM Blast 56/52) Imo it has enough plow (at least in my 4-4.5 level) but we are afraid to go all out because of muted feel

@ this one i havent tried!! I liked a lot the Percept 100, havent tried the 100d, but i didnt liked the 97!
Two "breakthroughs" that made my Ezone 100 better (as OHBH allcourt player and 50% double player):
1. Leather grip
2. Either low tension "feel" poly (I use PT Spin/Air 46/42) or gut/stiff poly (I use VS/RPM Blast 56/52)
Imo it has enough plow (at least in my 4-4.5 level) but we are afraid to go all out because of muted feel
what, no Natural Battistone Freestyle?
First, Second!!!
First!!
Get that ‘u’ out of favorite 🤨
would you do me the honour of telling me your favourite colour?
But that's the correct way to spell it
