    This is so helpful. I used to have clients return a signed copy of the proposal in their acceptance e-mail as proof of agreement but following up the proposal with a service contract is so much more professional.
    Plus, I once got burned by a scope creep client this way who never paid and I was so embarrassed I had hopped to his every whim including almost as dozen extra drafts for such a small fee anyway, that I never pursued it - it was during the month I started my LLC. It wouldn’t have been worth hiring legal help to get payment at the nominal fee I charged him, so I just let it go and prayed for the guy - who thought a lot of himself as a local businessman - that his attitude would offer him a valuable lesson someday.
    Nightmare clients are the reason I started the LLC, to protect myself and project the value of my work. It functions as a freelance business, but protects other assets and may give me room to grow if I decide to scale it to an agency, school, or training center at some point in the future.

    Super great video Alex, not even 4mins in and my sticky notes are transferring to my notebook. So much knowledge and value given already and not even half way through the video. That Discovery call is very powerful.

    Hola! Thank you Alex for giving such a clear and actionable on-boarding process. Would it be better to add a questionnaire for the clients to fill as a step before branding process to give the clients time to present a more thoughtful and clear answer to the foundational questions?
    Also a few weeks ago you had asked on a poll which of the 3-4 brand storytelling types do we prefer. It would be very helpful if you could make a video doing in depth about each of them.

    • @AlexCattoni
      @AlexCattoni  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure you could definitely do the survey if you want to streamline the process! I personally prefer to do the call, because my first priority is always to get them on a call and start developing a relationship with them.
      And I do have a video on the 4 storytelling methods :) th-cam.com/video/YaOZyJ9ZDQM/w-d-xo.html

    I came here so desperate for the information but I ended up staring at her beautiful peaceful face! Something is so pleasing when you just stare at her , and I am saying this with totally good intention. I had to watch the video again to get the information I needed, but realized after all that I did it again looking at her intensely as she was joyfully talking!
    Here we go again @alexcattoni I am watching the video for the third time and I promise you that i’ll get through it this time 😁🤟🏻

    In summary, the 5-steps to onboard client like a pro are:
    1. Have a discovery call - make sure you and your prospects align
    2. Follow up with a highly personalized email
    3. Proposal - outline pricing and timing in a call
    4. Send the contract
    5. Branding call- get to know your clients brand💯

    I just found your video! My question, on the follow up proposal, how do you end the email to ask if they are on board and agree to hire you? How do you ask them that to make them respond if they will move forward with you? Not sure if you will ever see my comment, I didn't realize this was a year ago LOL

    Do you not close them on the discovery call?

    • @AlexCattoni
      @AlexCattoni  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm yes and no. You come to a general agreement that you'd like to move forward, but in order to really "close them" you have to follow up with a scope and proposal that they need to agree to.

    Hi Alex! I'm confused between FOLLOW-UP and PROPOSAL. Is that in one email only? Or do I need to wait for a client to respond to my follow-up email before I send the proposal? Thanks!

    • @AlexCattoni
      @AlexCattoni  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In most cases, this will be two separate emails. The follow-up should be recapping what you heard their needs were during the call, and making sure the client is on board with everything you've recapped.
      If they are, then you would send a proposal. Waiting to make sure you're on the same page first will save you time in the long run :)
