Some guys just put them in the condenser mount holes but I just couldn’t lol - and I will be using AC so not an option. I drilled a couple holes just to the side of the big holes left from taking out the original hood catch blocks. Basically in the same spot as yours. More fun taking off the driver side quarter panel to get the wire out! Great job tho looks flawless! I bought a dremel like yours after using a regular grinder on my hood. The Dremel is where it’s at. Makes it so much easier.

I was wondering. Did you also consider welding the plates instead of screwing them on the frame? Perhaps welding would make it lighter and stronger?
Not really, it's a pretty simple solution and I can't weld haha
