    Ordered an S23+ in Graphite. I definitely don't think the price difference between it and the base S23 should be so big, but I did want a bigger screen so I'll have to eat that.
    Agreed that it's a bit of a tougher sell against the Ultra, but my logic was that I'd still be paying more, even if it's not that much, for features that aren't a huge deal to me. In particular, I don't see myself using the S-pen at all, so that's a total waste on me. 1080p vs 1440p screen isn't a big deal, you can't tell the difference in most situations anyway (I wonder how many people don't realize it's set to 1080p out of the box). I tried switching between 1080p and 1440p on my Oneplus 7 Pro, and the only place I could consistently tell the difference was the very small text on one particular app icon- everywhere else I can't tell. 10x zoom is kind of nice but I can live without that. Also I do prefer the flat display, although I did hold an Ultra and the curve isn't too bad.

    • @Young_Dab
      @Young_Dab ปีที่แล้ว

      The S23+ has 800mah difference over the regular S23. And 256gb of base storage space where the regular S23 has a base storage of 128gb. In terms of longevity the S23 Plus is the way to go mostly due to it's battery. Samsung is gonna lengthen the software updates down the road. Based on battery size you'll be able to keep the S23 for 4-5 years and you'll be able to keep the S23 Plus for 6-7 years.
      Lithium batteries degrade overtime thus resulting in users either replacing the battery or just purchasing a new phone. Heat is the leading killer of lithium batteries especially in smaller phones. After about 3-4 years of typical use the S23 will have more of a depleted battery than the S23 Plus with it's advantage of a extra 800 mAH. So in the year 2027 you'll have to upgrade the regular S23 while the S23 Plus can keep going for another year or 2.

      Hi can someone please clarify....if samsunv s21 fe is just as good...wouldn't that be better value compared to s23 or even s23 plus...
      S23nplus price is messed up but s23 battery is smaller price is better...I'm struggling between s23 and s21 fe...I want good camea and good battery...I know s21 fe is older rbitnits got a good battery and decent canera..my only issue is s23 plus is so stupidly expensive.. and s23nisnt worth it due to the battery.. so essentially I'm paying for a slightly better battery in 23plus?

    I considered both the s23 and s23 plus, but ultimately i decided to move up to the s23 ultra. Mainly for the bigger, brighter screen and bigger battery. Since I'm on my phone alot during the day it just made more sense. And so far I'm loving it. Feels so premium and is a huge upgrade over the s22 I tried last year and sent back after almost two weeks. I was curious how much better the battery on the s23 was. But I'm guessing the s23 ultra also has better standby time than the other models which was another reason I went ultra this year.

      imo any s range is good. I prefer the s23 because of light use. The mid range is not fast enough, screen not bright enough, camera is ok, once updates have finished, mid range will be very slow. I don't need all the functions of the ultra. s23 has everything I want including the size. I think phones are so powerful nowadays, you have to ask yourself if you need all the features. If you do then ultra is the way to go, if you don't then s23 would be better.

    I had the s22 standard for couple of weeks (returned it because of it getting warm doing nothing of consequence, poor battery and sucky low light camera performances).
    The most disappointing element was all the BS from Samsung about improved low light photography and "nightography". I found that illuminations e.g. lit signs bloomed awfully even using night mode (presumably overexposed). Couldn't find an adequate way to compensate. Basically you couldn't trust the camera to deliver and would be hit miss outcomes at night. Sigh.
    Seemingly no difference to what happened with my S8 at night.
    My understanding is the s23 (standard) has the same camera package as the s22?
    No 200MP sensor like on the s23 ultra either (which i understand makes a big difference in low light).
    What have been people's experiences with low light on the s23 standard?
    Anyone found a way to mitigate the poor performance?

      @bayanresenski2230 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i got mine yesterday so not much fiddling and experience but i did take some shots throughout the day in forecast and sunny weather and on a late night walk. I cant hide the fact im a bit dissapointed with the night performance of the s23, in inside photos(with almost 0 light) it manages to grab a staggering amount of light to the point where it looked like it was day inside my room, things still retained a good amount of detail. There are definite improvements outside as well, better detail retention and light management but in the end samsung's software tends to oversoften it. Its still usable for social media and cool memories but for something good i'd say you need to tinker around with the photo and the settings and you might aswell look up "night time photography for dummies" like i did and mess around with pro mode on your own

    • @gazzabazzazza
      @gazzabazzazza ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bayanresenski2230 thanks Bayan.
      The one thing I noticed about my s22 vs S8 experience was a load more detail in general photos (ok light levels).
      I really like how you get a proper albeit relatively small optical zoom lens with the s22 and s23.
      I very briefly tried RAW on the s22, just as an experiment (not an option as I don't want to faff around with my photos) and found i got loads of tiny red dots. Couldn't be bothered to explore further.
      I don't know if a different camera app would make a difference. Anecdotally I've heard that GCAM (Google's camera app) normally brings improvements.
      Shouldn't really have to do this though.
      I have found with samsung's camera app that it's not too bad but tends to overexpose in lower light levels, so i have to manually dial it down and play with the colour balance too (particularly for sunsets and to get sky and cloud colours right or close to being right)
