Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I've been looking everywhere for how to paint roller skates but most tutorials suggest using craft acrylic paint rather than something more durable.
I know this video is old, but you've just saved me $160 for the Riedell ColorLab costs to customize my new skates. I hope mine turn out as nice as yours did. Thank you!
Thanks for this video your skate came out really nice, I just bought a new pair and now I am more confident about giving them a make over, I just have to find the products you used in the UK.
Omggg thank you sooo much for making this video! It’s so helpful, I’ve been thinking on re-painting my roller skates for a while now and I think this will help me a lot ^^
This turned out so well! I can't wait to customize my used pair! I'm buying it second hand! They're suede so I'll need different paint but I'll figure out what's the best kind to use on suede skates
How well did this hold up? I've been considering it for a little while but afraid that scuffs will reveal the color underneath and end up looking worse..
Thank you! I highly recommend painting your skates! The paint has held up really nicely actually, the only cosmetic damage I have on my skates now is random scuffs from falling, but that's all my doing because I'm clumsy lol.
Gorgeous skates! I have an unrelated question about your skates though. Could you tell me what tool you used to remove your toe stop to put your toe caps on please? I've been struggling to find information on what tool I need to buy to remove mine! Thank you
Hi, I was getting new skates and was wondering if I would still need to use the leather prep and the finish, I will still obviously sand them I'm just on a budget
You could try to forgo them, but I personally wouldn't. I think there's a reason Angelus suggests the process. It has to do with the paint adhering correctly and having a clean surface.
Honestly, not much at all. I believe I got all three Angelus items in 4 oz bottles and I hardly used any of it. I imagine I could paint multiple pairs of skates (or do a ton of touchups on mine) and I would still have so much left over.

I had that same issue, I'm glad I could help. :)
This is one of the best tutorials I have seen on this subject. Very efficient with clear directions and good video quality. Well done!
I like your voice and how you talk, lol Was very fun to watch your video! Thank you for the tips! 🩷 Your skates looked awesome!

Thank you for this video! I painted my skates after watching and they came out so nice. 🤗
Yay! So glad this could help :)
Hi, how are these holding up? did the paint last? is there any cracking or chipping?
where did u get your toe stoppers? 💓💓

Sorry for the delayed reply but for suede, I would suggest suede dye, since paint would just ruin the texture of the suede.

This was so well done for a first video! Would love to see more content from you 🙂
Thank you! I have some things in the works, but am having trouble finding the time. I would love to start making more soon though!
@@thepastelpessimist totally get that! Take your time ❤️
Thank you for this! Just did mine, and they look amazing but the finish feels a little tacky, any recommendations?
So beautiful and what a clean technique!
Love this video! Very helpful, one of the best tutorials i've found for painting skates 💕
So you need leather prep even when it's fake leather?
Your heart toe stops are soo cute! :D
great job. thank you for sharing
OMG I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE. Thanks So Much! ❤️
you should put on gold laces if you want!! it would be so cute ^^
Quick question, Do you still have to do every step if you are only painting a design on them? Example: If you are painting a heart on the side
the result is so pretty! I want to paint my rio roller skates too. Did the result last or u had to paint them over again? thank u:)

thank you! it’s an allen wrench/allen key! and don’t worry, i was confused too lol, hopefully this helps☺️
How much did the paint cost all together?
I spent about $30 total for the three items from Angelus but I had the rest of the supplies.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THIS ! !!

Soo I’m a little confused did you use leather paint or Acrylic
The leather paint is acrylic paint! It's Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint.
I got the same one my grandma 👵 got me it
What brand your roller skates?
They are rio roller roses!
How much paint did you end up needing?
Honestly, not much at all. I believe I got all three Angelus items in 4 oz bottles and I hardly used any of it. I imagine I could paint multiple pairs of skates (or do a ton of touchups on mine) and I would still have so much left over.
@@thepastelpessimist so I wanted to get two colors, do you think i could get away with 1 ounce of each?
Or you used both
She used Angelus Leather paint, which is a type of acrylic paint. I figure the Angelus brand of acrylic is different from the regular acrylic paints.
