Here are my Sean Connery movie recommendations: - The Rock - all his James Bond movies especially Goldfinger. - Outland - Robin and Marian - The Hunt for Red October - Highlander - The Untouchables - Zardoz (this one because it's just a weird sci-fi and Connery in a hilarious outfit) 😂
I don't get why people always recommend Goldfinger as a Connery Bond film. He doesn't do anything in that film! The plot would have resolved itself identically if he weren't there.
@Jet-fighter because Goldfinger has a lot of iconic scenes in it like the woman painted in gold and the laser scene. There's also the famous line exchange betweem Bond and Goldfinger "You expect me to talk?" "No, Mr . Bond expect you to die" Most of it has been referenced in many movies and parodies of spy movies.
Sean Connery as James Bond in the early films is his most iconic role. A good movie with an older Sean Connery is Entrapment. A good movie with a young Sean Connery in a somewhat minor role is The Longest Day.
Sean Connery had an amazing career, including playing the original James Bond! He was a fantastic actor with an amazing presence. Watch The Hunt For Red October, Medicine Man and Finding Forrester to name a few.
Julian Glover has been in several major film and tv franchises throughout the years. Indiana Jones, James Bond 007, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Star Wars, just to name a few. Now if he ever gets cast in a Star Trek film/series, then he would have completed the sci-fi holy trinity of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who.
Sean Connery movies: The Hunt for Red October Untouchables The Rock Name of the Rose And a few personal favorites that might not be his best work but I love the movies: Highlander Outland Dragonheart The Presidio And, of course everybody will say the James Bond movies, and they're good, but then you're invested in a 6-decade franchise, so beware!
You take on the trouble of a tank (think of the transmission work!) only when you expect the other guys to loft something that you can't chuck out the barrel yourself. The primary weapon of a main battle tank is that little machine gun which is hard-strapped beside that huge honkin' cannon barrel sticking out the front of the turret.
If you want to see Sean Connery in his most iconic role, watch Goldfinger. He is the first and still best James Bond. The young actor playing young Indy was the late great River Phoenix, brother of Joaquin Phoenix. He was in the movie Stand By Me as Chris Chambers, the main character's best friend.
River Phoenix had a head start in his preparation for this role when he was cast alongside Harrison Ford in The Mosquito Coast, a great film that gets nowhere near enough attention. If you want another "Indy" fix, watch Spielberg and Peter Jackson's animated TinTin film.. genuinely the best Indiana Jones style adventure we have had since The Last Crusade.
I know you said Chandra has seen the 4th movie, but has Jordan seen it as well? Regardless, please don't listen to the hate about the 4th movie. Plenty of us love it. As someone that grew up seeing each of these movies in the theatre, and then seeing Crystal Skull when it came out, I absolutely love that movie. And that's only grown with every rewatch. The only thing different about it is that it's Indy in the 1950s, instead of the '30s - and I think they did a perfect job of making the best of that. Lucas and Spielberg, making movies together, is a special kind of magic! ❤❤
Sean Connery Movies Sure look no further than the fact he was the ORIGINAL James Bond which is why he was chosen to play Indys dad in the first place. The James Bond films... Dr No From Russia With Love Goldfinger (The Best one) Thunderball You only Live Twice Diamonds are Forever Never Say Never Again Other films... Marnie Zardoz Murder on the Orient Express (1974 version) Time Bandits Highlander The Untouchables The Hunt for Red October Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Only a cameo but a great film regardless) Rising Sun First Knight DragonHeart The Rock (One of my favourite action films and if you are a COD fan yes that is Rebirth Island)
This movie is thr ultimate father and son! RIP, Sir Sean Connery, Henry Jones, Sr. RIP, River Phoenix, young Indy. Originally Sir Laurence Olivier and Gregory Peck were considered for the role of Henry Jones, Sr, but they turned it down, as Olivier would sadly pass away from Pneumonia in 1989. The original opening scene for the script was going to involve Indy battling ghosts in a haunted Scottish mansion, but Spielberg immediately rejected this idea as it was too similar to POLTERGEIST. Another idea involved Indy fighting off the Monkey King for the mythical Fountain of Youth. It was then decided that Indy would team up with his estranged father to fight off the Nazis over the Holy Grail.
In Working Girl, he said he got it a different way. In the real world, Harrison was in a car crash, before his Hollywood years so you'll see that scar in all his films.
@@minnesotajones261 I know his real crash was unrelated, but in my meta-headcanon for all of Harrison Ford 's roles, he got the scar in the American Graffiti crash
This was awesome, thanks! I think this might be my fav as well. This comment section is great, I love reading all the behinds the scenes trivia everyone has. Also the underlying kitty purring is making me sleepy.
If you wanna dive into Sean Connery's filmography, youneed to know that, in the' 60 he was the original James Bond in Dr No, From Urssia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever. The Untouchables, The Name of the Rose, The Hunt for Red October and The Rock are alos worth watching
I've loved watching these 3 Indiana Jones films along with you both. Some of my favourite films, and your reactions to them have been great. Keep up the fun videos!
Must watch movies with Connery besides 007: The Rock, Hunt for Red October, The Untouchables, The Name of the Rose, Outland. There are others but these are the most recent.
"Nazis. I hate these guys." Fun Fact: Sir Sean Connery and Harrison Ford wore no trousers during the shooting of the entire Zeppelin sequence. It was a hot set. Clean Rats Fact: 2,000 rats were bred for the production. Breeding them specially was necessary, as ordinary rats would have been riddled with disease. Authentic Battle Damage Fact: Harrison Ford cut his chin in a car accident in southern California when he was about twenty years old. In the movie, this cut is explained by young Indiana Jones (River Phoenix) cutting his chin with a whip. Authentic Costume Fact: Most of the uniforms worn by the Nazis in the Berlin book-burning scene are authentic World War II uniforms, not replicas. A cache of old uniforms was found in Germany and obtained by costume designer Anthony Powell to be used in this movie. Young Indiana Jones Fact: Harrison Ford nominated River Phoenix to play him as a teenager, having worked with him before on The Mosquito Coast (1986). When describing how he prepared for playing the role, Phoenix explained that he didn't really base his portrayal on the Indiana Jones character, but on Harrison Ford. So he observed Ford out of character before acting his part.
Thank you for your compassionate reactions, I love you guys! I am a very lonely man, I suffer from severe depression and there is nobody in my life really caring about me. I don't have the energy to go out and experience life. I don't feel like I deserve it. Watching your reactions, seeing you laugh and observing all the emotions you're going through, gives me the opportunity to break out of my daily routine of boredom and repetition for a short while. Thank you very much, I really mean it!
You are not alone brother. There are many who feel lonely and forgotten especially in today‘s society. Try to keep your head up, though I know it isn‘t easy sometimes, go outside just for a little walk now and then and it will become much simpler to enjoy the many beautiful things in life. Also never be shy to seek professional help, that might be the first step towards a happy and rewarding life. Please keep your hopes high for there are always better times to come, brother! May God bless your soul!
@41:05: it is the beautiful site of Petra in Jordan. The structure is Al Khazneh, it is one of the 7 new Wonders of the World. It’s believed to be a royal tomb dating back from the 1st century BC. The narrow gorge leading to it is called the Siq.
There's been a long-standing comparison of Indiana Jones to James Bond. In fact, Indy's white tux at the beginning of Temple of Doom was a deliberate homage to Sean Connery's 007, complete with a (poisoned) martini. So when it came time to cast Indy's father for Last Crusade, Connery was the ONLY choice. My Sean Connery movie suggestion: The Untouchables. An exciting, incredible film about Al Capone and Elliot Ness. Connery won his only Oscar for his role.
My favorite Sean Connery movie is The Hunt for Red October, but I also like him in The Rock, Entrapment, and if you want to go way back he was pretty good as James Bond in the 60's.
Sean Connery movies: The Rock, The Hunt for Red October, Outland, The Presidio, The Untouchables and all his Bonds, including the unofficial one - Never Say Never Again.
Sean Connery - James Bond movies, especially “Goldfinger.” Another good one from around this time was “The Name of the Rose” where he plays an almost detective like Franciscan monk in the Middle Ages.
13:13: Catacombs. Used to be a very honorable way to lay the dead to rest. The catacombs of Paris are particularly famous. 19:55: "The only thing he hates more than snakes." I'd actually say he hates snakes more than Nazis. He doesn't become paralyzed with fear around Nazis. 37:12: "I did not think we were going to get horse vs. tank." Knights, heavy armored cavalry, used to be the kings of the battlefield, the unit that was worth the most and the most difficult to take down. At this time, that role belonged to the tank. So Indy on horseback vs. tank is basically a knight versus a larger, stronger, more powerful knight, winning against the stronger opponent through intelligence, guile, and because his cause is just.
That temple carved in the wall of the canyon is just 1 of many structures that make up the city of Petra, in southern Jordan. The earliest writings that mention the people of the town are from 312 BC, At it's peak, the city was believed to have had 20,000 people.
Remember Willie Scott’s question remark to Indiana Jones in The Temple Of Doom? ‘What are you supposed to be, a lion tamer?’ Well, we got a lion here and the birth of the whip as Chandra aptly put it
Sean Connery was one of the first James Bond actors. Those are worth checking out. My favorite movie of his was The Hunt for Red October. The Rock was a good one too.
Another fun fact it´s that Sean Connery and Harrison Ford (who played the roles as father and son), have only twelve years of difference among them. Sean had 59 here and Harrison 47 (but Sean looks older without hair and with beard).
Julian Glover, Walter Donovan in this movie, also plays Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thones as well as nearly 200 roles. Just about to turn 90 next year and still going.
For Sean Connery movies, the first 7 James Bond movies, Highlander, The Hunt for Red October. But for another movie like Indiana Jones, try Romancing the Stone with with Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito from 1984.
This one is my favorite of the three Indiana Jones movies. I think because I was quite young watching the other two. By the time I saw this in the theater, I was old enough to really appreciate it.
I watched this with my father in theaters. It was father son day. I am so glad you watched this. This is my favorite too as it was my dad's favorite too. I love the part where his dad calls him Indiana. Knowing he doesn't care about grail but about saving his son. He doesn't want it. He wants his son. The best part to me is when Indiana asks what his dad found was illumination. Meaning he realized that having time with his son is more important that obsessing over history and to not miss the present for sake of past.
If you want to see more Sean Connery, you've got to see some James Bond. Dr. No (1962) From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) You Only Live Twice (1967) Also, something to consider for St. Patrick's Day is Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959). It's a Disney live-action movie. Connery isn't the lead (listed third in the credits) but you get to hear him sing.
Most the scenery shown in the opening was Monument Valley and Arches National Park in southern Utah. Southern Utah is definitely the go to location for any movies wanting some impressive western scenery.
This had to be my favorite Indiana Jones as well. I just loved the whole premise of the story and the end was phenomenal. As far as my favorite Sir Sean Connery movie, it would have to be The Hunt for Red October.
There's an abundance of Connery hits to choose from, but my strong recommendation would be for the criminally overlooked "Outland" (1981). It's essentially a space western and Connery's onscreen chemistry with the marvelous Frances Sternhagen is an absolute delight.
@15:32: the exterior of the (fictitious) library is actually the church of St Barnabas in Venice. The Campo San Barnaba, in front of the church, has many nice terrace bars. Had a Spritz there last time I visited, exactly where Indy exits from the (also fictitious) underground passage where he found the tomb of one of the Holy Grail’s keepers 😁 The Dorsoduro neighborood is super nice.
20:40 Casting _the_ original James Bond as Indiana Jones' dad is a work of poetry. Posing him as the Hope against Ford's take on Crosby in a _Road to_ film is an exquisite subversion of expectation.
40:54 This structure is the real life Al Khazneh - The Treasury of Petra, Jordan. The Treasury is believed to have been built in the 1st century AD when the city would have already been exposed to Greek and Roman architectural styles.
Sean Connery films worth checking out: *Highlander* Though not the main character, his role throughout the film is outstanding. A Fine Madness one of his first non-Bond projects.
Don't listen to everyone say skip the next two. Determine for yourself. The true ending is this film as Spielberg originally intended but it doesn't hurt watching the others.
The “library” in Venice is the Church of St Barnabas which now is a museum of DaVinci exhibits. The square (Campo San Barnaba) was close to our hotel in Venice, so seeing the old church and them coming out of a manhole in the square brings back great memories.
I didn't catch it until years later (silly me), but the cut lip on Indy and the tank tread "rug burn" he had on the left side of his face vanished after he drank from the grail. Him and Henry Sr. won't live forever, but the grail did help both of them.
Just a great, great movie, and a fitting end to the original Indy trilogy. I wish they stopped with this one. I would have to say Raiders is my favorite, though. I remember being 8 years old and watching it in the theater in 1981. It blew me and everyone else away. So it set the bar really high. It’s funny - I feel the same about the original Star Wars. Empire might be a better movie, but the feeling of seeing the original SW in the theater made me a fan for life. All these movies were special!
Greetings from Australia! Great reaction! This is certainly my favourite of the trilogy - I can also recommend Toy Soldiers - 1991 - Sean Astin, Denholm Elliott (Marcus) - Sneakers - 1992 - Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd - Fool's Gold - 2008 - Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson & How to Steal a Million - 1966 - Audrey Hepburn, Peter O'Toole - enjoy!
The Rock, Goldfinger, The Untouchables, and The Hunt For Red October are all must watch Connery movies.
Sean Conory: Hunt for the Red October!!!
Sean Connery movies:
The Hunt for Red October
Untouchables
The Rock
Name of the Rose
And a few personal favorites that might not be his best work but I love the movies:
Highlander
Outland
Dragonheart
The Presidio
And, of course everybody will say the James Bond movies, and they're good, but then you're invested in a 6-decade franchise, so beware!
35:00 "if somebody gives you a tank, you don't say no."
That's the most UN-Canadian thing I've ever heard a Canadian say...
You take on the trouble of a tank (think of the transmission work!) only when you expect the other guys to loft something that you can't chuck out the barrel yourself.
The primary weapon of a main battle tank is that little machine gun which is hard-strapped beside that huge honkin' cannon barrel sticking out the front of the turret.
watching a good movie is great, having the cat on your lap being happy is soo much better.
Obviously James Bond is Sean Connery's most remembered Role, but I think "The Rock" is one of his best. And has a very loose connection to 007.
Sean C has so many awesome movies over his distinguished career ... Any of the 007 movies are great but my fave is The Hunt For Red October 🔥
❤❤
The problem with both 2 and 4 is they don't pass the "So what?" test.
The monument carved in rock at the last location is a real place. It's the Al-Khazneh tomb in the city of Petra in Jordan.
Sean Connery Movies Sure look no further than the fact he was the ORIGINAL James Bond which is why he was chosen to play Indys dad in the first place.
The James Bond films...
Dr No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger (The Best one)
Thunderball
You only Live Twice
Diamonds are Forever
Never Say Never Again
Other films...
Marnie
Zardoz
Murder on the Orient Express (1974 version)
Time Bandits
Highlander
The Untouchables
The Hunt for Red October
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Only a cameo but a great film regardless)
Rising Sun
First Knight
DragonHeart
The Rock (One of my favourite action films and if you are a COD fan yes that is Rebirth Island)
Harrison Ford has a scar on his chin, young Indy hitting himself with the whip is the origin story for the grown up Indys scar 😁
In Working Girl, he said he got it a different way. In the real world, Harrison was in a car crash, before his Hollywood years so you'll see that scar in all his films.
@@minnesotajones261I was thinking about that too - I love Working Girl!
@@minnesotajones261 I know his real crash was unrelated, but in my meta-headcanon for all of Harrison Ford 's roles, he got the scar in the American Graffiti crash
This is my favourite of the Indiana Jones Trilogy.
This series of films just get better and better each time.
yeah... it's too bad they only ever made three.
@CorgiSnapz only made three worth watching...
Crystal Skulls was a total waste of time, effort and energy
Hunt for Red October is a fantastic thriller and one of the best Sean Connery films.
The rock, Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage! Awesome 90’s action movie!
"Nazis. I hate these guys."
Fun Fact: Sir Sean Connery and Harrison Ford wore no trousers during the shooting of the entire Zeppelin sequence.
Thanks for these

The bookshelf behind Harrison Ford is fake.
I find Bible reading and study a great comfort. In some ways, I too am lonely-no girl wanted to marry me, and at my age now, it doesn't seem likely
40:54 This is the ancient city of Petra, located in Jordan. Huge complex. The place in this scene is called the Treasury
You know these two have the internet, right? :D
What are those supposed to be, Connery's best films in your book?
Sean Connery - James Bond movies, especially “Goldfinger.” Another good one from around this time was “The Name of the Rose” where he plays an almost detective like Franciscan monk in the Middle Ages.
The entrance to the place with the grail is a real historic site. There isn't anything "inside," but the exterior is real.
Now you know how they explained the scar on Harrison Ford's chin. I believe this was one of River Phoenix's last roles.
13:13: Catacombs. Used to be a very honorable way to lay the dead to rest. The catacombs of Paris are particularly famous.
19:55: "The only thing he hates more than snakes."
I'd actually say he hates snakes more than Nazis. He doesn't become paralyzed with fear around Nazis.
37:12: "I did not think we were going to get horse vs. tank."
Knights, heavy armored cavalry, used to be the kings of the battlefield, the unit that was worth the most and the most difficult to take down.
All of the Sean Connery Bond films are awesome. I also like The Hunt for Red October and The Untouchables but he has many many classics.
Really good reaction guys! Although Temple Of Doom was the second movie in the franchise, it's actually a prequel to Raiders Of The Lost Ark
@equinsuocha5397 Sean Connery was the first James Bond.
@isabelsilva62023 I thought so, but I wasn't sure.
Happy December you two🎄🎄🎄🎅🎄🎄
DR. NO with Sean Connery. The first James Bond movie.
For Sean Connery movies, the first 7 James Bond movies, Highlander, The Hunt for Red October. But for another movie like Indiana Jones, try Romancing the Stone with with Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito from 1984.
The Sean Connery movie I would start with is The Hunt For Red October.
Sean Connery? UNTOUCHABLES. Nuff said 🙂
This one is my favorite of the three Indiana Jones movies. I think because I was quite young watching the other two. By the time I saw this in the theater, I was old enough to really appreciate it.
I like them in order. Raiders, Temple, and Crusade.
Sean Connery? The first 5 James Bond movies will get you started.
#2 is my personal favorite: From Russia With Love. Great location stuff, a complex plot, and some amazing performances.
If you are going to go on a Connery exploration, start it in the right way. Dr. No. The first Bond film.
If you want to see more Sean Connery, you've got to see some James Bond.
Dr. No (1962)
From Russia with Love (1963)
Goldfinger (1964)
Thunderball (1965)
You Only Live Twice (1967)
Also, something to consider for St. Patrick's Day is Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959). It's a Disney live-action movie. Connery isn't the lead (listed third in the credits) but you get to hear him sing.
Sean Connery movies? Gotta start with "The Rock." - The Hunt for Red October also a classis, his Bond movies older but still worth a watch!
Good picks for Sean Connery? Well, obviously: James Bond, Hunt for Red October, Highlander I, The Untouchables.
There's an abundance of Connery hits to choose from, but my strong recommendation would be for the criminally overlooked "Outland" (1981). It's essentially a space western and Connery's onscreen chemistry with the marvelous Frances Sternhagen is an absolute delight.
"Outland" is "High Noon" in space.
A lot of the beginning is filmed in Arches National Park. Some other stuff near Moab Utah also. I have been there and it is amazing
The place where the grail is found is a real place in Jordan called Petra
20:40 Casting _the_ original James Bond as Indiana Jones' dad is a work of poetry. Posing him as the Hope against Ford's take on Crosby in a _Road to_ film is an exquisite subversion of expectation.
The purring cat! 😻
Sean Connery was James Bond. Best of early Bond is Goldfinger. Old Sean Connery watch The Untouchables, The Rock and Hunt for Red October
Another great Sean Connery movie: The Rock
The Indiana Jones Trilogy is perfect. The three films they made are all terrific. The THREE films.
Yeah, just imagine they made a fourth one like 20 years later.
TWO films are terrific. The middle one is pretty good.
@@DMichaelAtLarge fair comment, but compared to four and five....
@@kingfield99 I did say pretty good.
You should finish 4 and 5. As a long time Indy fan, Dial of Destiny was a great finale to wrap up the series
Karen P 🌷
I would suggest The Rock and The Hunt for Red October for Sean Connery movies.
For Connery watch Hunt for Res October or the Untouchables.
