It’s wild that the original Star Trek series was only on the air for 3 years, and yet it’s ingrained in public consciousness permanently. Just goes to show how special it was.
There was also an animated series, then he was in 7 movies as well.
William Shatner was my first crush. I was 5 years old and completely in love. You never get over your first.😊
But it was repeated multiple times - when I grow up, it was on TV until TNG came along.
When I moved to France and then later to the UK, in both countries, on some channels they played TOS & TNG; in the UK not so much but again Doctor Who and TopGear was more prominent here.
I remember saying a few years ago, that Shatner will outlive all of his acting colleagues and looking at him here, I get the feeling I was probably right.
It was very good. Multiple directors, writers, etc. I liked "Lost In Space" too and let's not forget "The Time Tunnel". I liked Gene Roddenberry's vision. I like Irwin Allen's stuff to. I wish that Rod Serling had lived and continued his series as well.
And we can all thank Desi & Lucy for bringing this to the world. As well as Mission: Impossible. Yet another franchise ingrained into the public consciousness.

Him being 90 isn’t even the crazy part to me. The crazy part to me is that he’s not a small man. Most people who live to see 90 become thin and fragile. This man is still rocking a belly like he’s in his 50’s slinging back beers at a BBQ. Most men can only dream. Hahaha. Legend.

Good luck with that haha. As long as you're a millionaire for the majority of your life, you'll be fine. You're already a millionaire, right? Otherwise I don't see the sense in "planning to look this good at 91". Don't forget about the upkeep, you can't just get surgery once, you have to keep going (and paying). Teeth, skin, hair, everything.

I'm impressed how, unlike Stewart, Shatner's voice is still as powerful and clear as it was 50 years ago.
I have met him several times of conventions in Florida and his one-man show, his panel is outstanding! He is hysterical. And he’s really nice. I’ve heard stories about him but he must’ve cool down throughout the years because he’s really nice to the fans
Yeah. I think it’s ironic that William Shatner calmed down a lot and started to be more fond of his Star Trek, while Patrick Stewart hated his role as Picard.
Most successful actors tend to get a reputation for being difficult. Probably an ego thing wanting to be top dog all the time. Add on the insecurity of an acting career and co star’s fighting is that surprising.
Now he’s ancient he has nothing to prove and can mellow out a bit.
This guy must have found the fountain of youth. He looks as good as some people I know in their 60’s!

In case you didn't know, the timing of this wasnt accidental. Shatner launched into space in a Blue Origin rocket today. Oldest man to ever go to space. It's only fitting since he helped inspire so many that are currently and previously working on space exploration.

I fell in love with Captain Kirk when I was 10 years old watching reruns of star trek in the 70's. Became totally obsessed with star trek in the 80's. It got me through a really tough time in a bad situation in a terrible job. Had a huge crush on William Shatner in the 90's when my marriage was breaking down. He has got me through some hard times. I still totally love him. What an amazing man! x

Would love to have a chat with him before he passes. I’m 41 years old, and he was older than I am now when I was born. This guy starred in Rod Serling twilight zones. He seems sharp as a tack and would likely have so many stories to recall. He also seems to acknowledge and own his ego back in the 60’s and we now see a humble down to earth old guy not afraid to make fun of himself.

I met him at a convention just days after Nimoy passed. He was still charming and nice speaking to everyone but you could tell he was just feeling down. Of course, the countless people offering condolences to him all day long for 3 days straight probably didn't help his mood either.
I remember when Shatner's daughters were young and lovely in their 20s - now they're, what, in their 60s or so? Man, this guy is amazing.
I love William Shatner, for the people who are amazed of his age please remember he was on a star ship for several years and those cosmic rays causes you to age differently.
And there was that episode where he took that serum to reverse his aging. At 90 he looks way better than the "old" Kirk in that TOS episode.

Great genes, joy for living, always doing something. One of my favourite scientists, James Lovelock is something like 102, looks, 70, and is still working full time and is totally sharp. A big part of that is that he made a lot of money on an invention in the 1940s and has had his own independent lab ever since. There’s a lot to be said for not having someone boss you around and getting to pursue your interests.
There was a a good decade or two where it was fashionable to make fun of him. I'm glad people are starting to appreciate him again.

Shatner has good genetics but I have a feeling that he might be experimenting with anti-aging drugs because he looks almost 30 years younger than most ever will at 90 years old. I always wondered if I would ever see someone look this good and sound very articulate too at an older age he one of the very few.
