First, this is a great tutorial and makes me believe I may actually paint trees well one day. Second, my property is chock full of poplars...populars...popplers...and I never saw moustaches, but I will look for them next spring as currently they are leafless. But also, the trunks when they are young...some are almost birch like with off-white and black, others are a pale silvery green and then when they are old, the trunks are grey with deep vertical lines. Just thought you might be interested. We have several types, obviously and the least desirable is also known as cottonwood. They are messy, fuzzy and sticky in late spring but once they are past that stage, quite beautiful. Tall and full. I plant at least one tree each year and usually many more than one. Thanks again for a great tutorial of one of my favourite things.
My cat really loved your painting!! She was sitting right at the screen and was intently watching and occasionally batting at the screen. I'm glad she enjoyed your painting tutorial as much as I did! ❤
I can’t begin to tell you that I have been watching dozens of artists’ tutorial on trees and for the first time because of your video, I get it! I am 64 years old and am fairly new to watercolor. I wish I could show you my trees. I amazed myself! Thank you so much for this. I also love the banter between you and I assume your husband or boyfriend am Nd let’s not forget the singing.LOL. Love it!
I could watch you paint all day Jenna, I’m learning such a lot from you. It’s like having a meditation lesson and art lesson in one - So relaxing, thank you so much. 😊 ,
Aight quick comment. It was initially jarring to have someone else comment outta nowhere... and then he started asking questions I was trying to ask. I think I officially love this format. Ty for the content!
I am just starting your tutorial with the Easiest Way to Paint TEN Trees and I love it! My question in do you need to wait for the lighter colors to dry? I feel like I struggle with blooms or hard lines. I am new to watercolor and painting/art of any kind. Thanks, Marcy
You have such a wonderfully chilled and fun way of demonstrating, I've watched a few of your tutorials now and because I think it's amazing you give away this knowledge for free, I bought your first book and cannot wait to remind myself of how to paint (I studied O and A Levels at school but that was in the 80s! I haven't painted properly since my mid 20s which is almost 30 years ago). Your tutorials really have inspired me to get my paints out and start messing about again, so thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I love the way you showed us how to paint using shapes! This really made it so much easier to visualize how to paint trees. LOVE the way you teach. And love the way you and John interact. You can tell you have a special relationship. Thank you both so much for all you do in getting these tutorials out to us!
The speed of your videos is great. You give good detail, but don’t drag out the process, or repeat too much. It’s also nice to be be able to see how you are handling the brush to get that light, leafy look. Thanks so much!
I liked how you taught to draw out the shapes 1st. It helps to keep focus on the type of tree it is and not get lost in the branches....Ha Ha! Sometimes I get carried away and this helps to get the correct look of the tree on I am painting. I also paid attention to lhow you work the brush and the rolling tecnique makes sense. Thanks, love your teaching!!!
I started watercolor painting a year ago. and made so many mistakes. A friend asked me to paint something for her and I searched countless videos for instruction. I found yours to be the best and I look forward to watching all of them!
Excellent tutorial. I am a raw beginner and found this very useful Love John as well, he adds a nice dimension to the instructions. I am going to try your landscape elements next. Thank you.
I thought you did a lovely job on all the trees, but I would pick the first and third trees as favorites. Perhaps I just like those kinds best? Very nice video Thanks Jenna.
This is way better than the previous tree video. Although I had good success with that. And it was still a great video. But breaking each tree down into simple shape structures is the magical bit for this one! Huge effort on your part and thankyou so much.
Ok I love the tutorial on a variety of watercolor trees but what truly kept me entertained was You! I often get bored with many artists monotony but you are so fun! All your tangents, bursting into song, pronouncing words various ways, surprise noises all accompanying terrific teaching!!! Definitely have me hooked!
Having not painted in 45 years and now 62 I have just started watercolours again.....You do make it look easy....though still hard for me, and my trees look like green blobs....but easiest art lesson on the tube. Thank You.
This practice was invaluable to me! Thanks a million.. I don’t know what I’d do without you Artist teaching me on TH-cam! And you are blessed to have a wonderfully supportive friend
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful tutorial ,entertaining as well as educational. Will watch over and over again thanks both of you for providing an afternoon of relaxation
I painted the second tree and I LOVED it so much....problem is I need to add a barn or something ha! Don't want to just paint more trees. I love this tutorial, Jenna. Thanks so much. You draw and paint and teach us about all the processes involved. That's what makes it easy...tell John ;) Comprehensive instruction.
Those are all beautiful, but the mustache tree was kind of a highlight 😆😆😆. I liked the scrubbing technique, I'm never brave enough to do something like that because I always think it will wreck the brush. Very entertaining video.
I usually don’t comment but I do love you work it nice and fun to watch you work. so here is one artist to another friendly advice take it or leave it, on your light source is coming from the left so when you do the truck you switch it and put your light source on the right at least on the first two tree but I’m watching to see more, so it good to keep shadows all on the same side but you do you. Love the work, you go girl😀
I LOVE this video. I watched how you draw them, and did just that, drew with pencil, no watercolor painting yet. On a previous video, you mention to practice drawing, and I chose to do just that with this video. I felt better than painting for now. They all turn out so very beautiful.
I just found this, and am so happy! You’re an amazing artist, but as soon as I heard you singing while doing the “mustache” tree, that was an immediate subscribe for me!!! I’m just starting to watercolor, and I really appreciate you sharing your talent. I’ll be binge watching the rest and checking out your courses ❤
Thank you so much a great lesson on painting trees Jenna maybe one day I will be able to paint in a relaxed way as you do. I enjoyed painting all the trees!!!
I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. Our land has an old pasture on it and Yellow Tulip POPLARS are abundant, especially at the edges of the open pasture area. Poplars are predominant in second growth forests like our forest reclaiming old cleared pasture land.
I love watching your tutorials. And I don't think your crazy..I love your singing and relaxed style. You have inspired me so much and feel I'm improving all the time. I did enjoy painting all these trees and as I'm from Australia I will now try a eucalyptus. Thank you so much. Xxx
This is just what I needed to paint a dat gum 😉 pointing out the shapes helps tremendously. I truly appreciate your patience Jenna you just what we needed!!!
Just finished the 10Trees video, BUT simple it isn't. I either need a better eye or the hand that holds the brush has to learn to light touch. But I loved the video. : I'm going to redo all the trees in my sketchbook. However, I wish that you would talk a bit more about your choices for greens or green mixes. I know that's a big topic, but even just related to these trees would have helped. Thanks again for your knowledge and the manner in which you are able to convey these 'simple' fundamentals. haha.
Your tutorial is wonderful,I could paint along with you all day 😊 Love the vibes and the chuckles, thank you so very much for getting me inspired to practice watercolour.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I enjoyed experimenting and "playing about'. Seeing trees as different shapes will most definitely help in the future. I need to practice the spruce tree using more water next time.
Thanks a lot. The second was my favorite. Estoy practicando mi inglés con tus videos, mientras pinto y me relajo. Tiempo muy bien invertido. Saludos desde Ciudad de México.
Love your “weirdo “ vibe… I can relate… glad I found your channel …. Newly retired and was looking for a new hobby… I think I found it here!!!!! Great teacher!
Great tutorial. Good techniques that I did not know when I was trying to paint a tree this past weekend. Loved them all. And by the way … you have a beautiful singing voice!

Paint pouring
I left the room to get coffee and came back to "You can sketch these balls out"...............It took me a second.😂😂
lol 😂😅😇

Love it.❤

Amazing…drawing the shapes first makes sense now for the many trees 🌴

This video was so excellent. Very thorough . Thanks for not rushing through it.
Thank you so much for these techniques. I love it Ms. Jenna!
That was fun! Loved the birch! But the first step scrubbing technique is FAB! Thank you!
I am just starting your tutorial with the Easiest Way to Paint TEN Trees and I love it! My question in do you need to wait for the lighter colors to dry? I feel like I struggle with blooms or hard lines. I am new to watercolor and painting/art of any kind. Thanks, Marcy

Loved the pine tree with snow
