Trees are my favorite subject! That's how I got started in watercolors and I will alway defer to trees if I've been away from painting for a while. These five examples are so gorgeous that I will definitely try to paint using these techniques. As always, thanks so much Anastasia, you always inspire me!
Trees are such gorgeous subjects to paint! Such a source of inspiration too. Thank you for watching, and have fun with these techniques! Oh, and I will be posting another tree video soon :)
I paint every single day and today I must have been feeling very brave because I decided to paint one of your pictures. I didn't have the exact colors you used but I did some mixing and came pretty close. I am absolutely thrilled with how this painting turned out and it has now become my all time favorite as you have become my all time favorite artist! Thank you so very much for sharing your techniques. It has given me so many ideas to start creating a new style of painting for me and I am anxious for tomorrow to see how I can apply this!
How wonderful it is that you paint every day! And I am so very happy my videos are helping you on your creative journey, and that you are feeling brave and trying new things. Lots of water can be scary indeed! I use 100% 300 gsm cotton cold press paper (I like paper by Baohong) and it handles tons of water very well. The paper still buckles but it can be flattened later. What kind of paper do you use?
@@jodivanhooser8440 I am not sure if your paper is 100% cotton (I know Canson make different kinds of paper, both cotton and cellulose/wood pulp). Cotton definitely handles the water better than cellulose. I also find that taping the paper to a board with masking tape helps hold it in place when it starts warping under lots of water. This reduces the warping quite a bit. Hope this helps!
