Need a new receivers coach. Maguire can step back and be an assistant to a more veteran coach. Haven’t seen the development to warrant sticking with Maguire as head of that group.
It's the coaches' job to train players and put them in the best possible position to succeed, but at the end of the day players have to make plays when they are there in order to win games. I'm glad Coach Rhule is putting the onus on the players to take responsibility for themselves to go out and execute the game plan. Not saying the coaches are blameless here, just that the players are the ones on the field. They need to start making plays, especially late, to win games instead of losing them.

Nobody in Small Town Nebraska ever heard anything about NU FOOTBALL. We got TV when I was 5. Don’t recall hearing or seeing anything football. Lone exception was that KMTV Omaha was then NBC and every Sunday morning we got the condensed version of NotreDame games. They then and still do I think had a contract with NBC. when Bob started going 6-3 Husker Nation began to evolve. Good things will come and you’ll be proud of the kids and fans.

Back to DONU, I have faith that Rhule will get this thing turned around. The beast that is 24 /7 access and social media etc... That genie is out of the bottle and it's not going back. We pay our coaches more than the average for better recruiting and better coaching, and our recruiting classes are often just as good if not better than all of them. Even with all the losing, fans sellout the stadium and follow the team on the road in large numbers. No way in hell should we be losing like this to these guys. Should not happen. Every week there seems to be a different reason for losing a game. I’ve been trying to stay positive but it’s been brutal when you see traditional doormat teams out of nowhere like Vanderbilt beating Alabama, or South Carolina beating Texas A&M, Kansas beating BYU. Rhule in his press conference when he was hired, talked about having a run offense and being a power team. Now he is a pass offence coach. He talks too much about the last two minutes of a game He needs to focus on the first 58 minutes of the game. He is making these games too complicated.
Our players got cooked, We had weird time management, Raiola is getting cooked as a freshman (he's right there to being a phenomenal QB he just needs a better QB coach and now we have Dana), our defense is get cooked on the short pass, teams are using us as their tuneup game before the go on a tear. 1 Matt Rhule has 3 more years for *ME ONLY.* We had 2 years with some improvement in areas. This last 3 year stretch shows recruiting, coaching ability, and it allows the old gaurd to pass to the new generation of hungry players.
It’s literally not even remotely close to being time for that. New OC is in right now. Freshman QB will have an entire off-season to develop and get better. We can’t keep hitting this restart button

The ball carriers need to break tackles and go for long runs. Nebraska needs a red zone offense and the last minute of the game offense. Quit being scared of Wisconsin. Play to win. This team... I'm not sure ANYBODY and I mean ANYBODY can fix the issues that this team currently has. All this team knows how to do is lose. And that losing culture carries over to the younger kids. It's a never ending cycle of losing with no way out. This is probably the hardest job in the entire country. The only way to snap out of it that makes any sense at least in my opinion is to look at what curt cignetti has done at Indiana. He brought 31 transfers with him from James Madison. Kids that know what winning is. Now there is no guarantee that Indiana will be this good next season but there doing something that they have never done before consistently and thats WIN. Rhule needs to change things up and start attacking the portal like curt did instead of raising kids the way he wants. Short term gains can lead to long term success. If he doesn't the losing will not stop.
