    Wow! Great place 😃 we would have to visit the water tunnel to see the beers, how cool 🍺 can’t believe it was Sunday- seemed very quiet 🤫 Thanks for that, incredible architecture in Tallin.

    Absolutely brilliant I loved what you showed us about the zoo, those poor animals. The architecture and colourful gardens oh and the markets so much it’s been the best 30 plus minutes of our day 🥂

    To be exact the gate of Parnu is not the only existing gate in the Baltic countries. The Gate of Dawn of Vilnius built in 16th century still exists: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gate_of_Dawn

    Wow that Zoo exhibit. I'm so glad we've grown to be more respectful of animals. Another really interesting video, thanks for sharing your travels with those of us "stuck" at home :)

    What a stunning place. You continue to inspire and also create a tiny bit of envy, but it's great to watch and learn about all these amazing places I would have never considered.

    Hi, great video. Married to an Estonian so interested to seeing more of the sights my wheelchair hasn’t got to yet. Thanks for info on car park, will use it for motorhome on next visit. Just a help with pronunciation, the letter ‘j’ should sound more like a ‘y’, so Baltic Jaam should sound more like “Balti Yarm”. Anyway, happy exploring!

    Are you collecting smashed pennies now?
    Beautiful city and the cathedral is amazing.
    We’re a zoo family too. Not sure if Suzannah would accept a “one zoo per country” limit. 😂😂😂

      Claire collects them, has been all over Europe, she's kinda obsessed! Ha ha! And trust me, Claire doesn't really accept the 'one zoo per nation' limit either! ❤️👍🏻

    So now you are back in Tallinn (Denmark) where Dannebrog fell from the sky some 801 years ago.

  • @Manawald

    So this is the only proper zoo in Estonia. There are small "zoos" in the country with farm animals plus exotic animals you can approach with kids.

    Hi :) Thanks for the amazing adventures. :) Did you know that Estonia was a Danish possession through the Middle Ages and early modern times. Between 1206 and 1645, Denmark ruled over various parts of present-day Estonia.
    Danish rule in Estonia falls into two periods:
    Duchy of Estonia (1206-1346),
    Øsel as a Danish province (1560-1645)
    Dannebrog was established as a Danish flag in the Middle Ages and is thus one of the oldest national flags. The founding myth links the flag to the 13th century crusade in Estonia, where Dannebrog 'fell from the sky' during a battle outside Tallinn in 1219 - or was it in 1208? Dannebrog was the flag of the Danish king and thus the kingdom for centuries. It was not until the 19th century that the flag began to be associated with the people and the nation. :)

    Why would you choose the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral as your thumbnail? It's completely uncharacteristic of the traditionally Lutheran and otherwise medieval old town and Estonians generally hate it as it was built as a symbol of Russian imperialism - Estonians even had serious plans of demolishing it in the 1920s...

    • @nextstopevwhere
      @nextstopevwhere  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. No offence meant. We saw it and thought it was beautiful. We've been making videos about how beautiful and wonderful Estonia is, our thumbnail is designed to attract viewers, not tell the whole story.

      @@nextstopevwhere For most Estonians that church is a absolute eyesore. Besides, compared to other, truly historical churches, that building is practically brand new, being built in 1900

  • @lumemaa7
    @lumemaa7 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is a Russian church is not really an authentic, Estonian thumbnail tbh. Stag dos in Estonia are a thing of the past now. Great video!!💙🖤🤍

    Estonia should be taken seriously, eg, because it offers e-Residency (mainly for entrepreneurs, but any1 can apply.)
    Every1 there has a right to Internet access [possibly free] & it's population incl's many entrepreneurs
    To see what Estonia might decide to become useful (& famous) for, in future, view, eg:
    + TH-cam "Estonia can produce enough Nuclear Energy to decarbonize all of Europe. (Bret Kugelmass presents)"
    (As a Pro-Nuclear Advocate, I see France, Sweden (where I spent 5 "Winters") & Ontario, Canada as very impressive places:
    1 FR pivoted to Nuclear "by decree" of de Gaulle, who wanted the country to be & stay ahead of the World;
    2 SE gets most of its elec. power fr Hydro & Nuclear; had a referendum on it (folks said "Turn 'em Off," but they still run) ; &
    3 Ont. ,CA went Nuclear when its Healthcare costs (fr Coal smoke toxins) were found to be more than building its Nuclear:
    Scroll down in Live.GridWatch.CA to see how much Nuclear energy they Export each moment.)
    If your interest in Nuclear Energy, after all that, I'd say: view:
    some of these YT's:
    1 "Kirk Sorensen TEDxYYC"
    2 "Pedersen TEDxCopenhagen"
    3 "Thorium Remix 2011"
    4 "Why is everyone afraid of Nuclear Energy? Bret Kugelmass delivers a revisionist history" (by Kugelmass)
    More is at EnergyImpactCenter.org/media (or /thesis)
    "Nuclear = a Trillion $ industry, waiting to happen" (To hear what insiders think+say: try podcast "Titans of Nuclear")
    If you're into [fixing] Climate Change, try Mike Shellenberger's "Apocalypse NEVER" (eBook + audio-book, on Audible)"
