  • We are exploring the 5000 year old city of Tallinn, Estonia - gem of the Baltics - in this episode of ‪@windowseatworldtravel‬
It used to be part of the Soviet Union - and you'll still find throwbacks to the Soviet era - including a hotel full of bugs. And we're not talking bed bugs. We'll take you inside Hotel Viru, home of the KGB Museum. On the top floor, two secret rooms that went undetected until after the fall of communism. It's where secret agents spied on hotel guests. It's just one stop we're making in Tallinn. We'll also take you to the oldest bakery in town, a series of tunnels that snake beneath the city, and we'll explore the famous Old Town area... a throwback to medieval times.

The TV tower is better in summer sunshine. The botanical garden is nearby, and that is also better in summer.

There is public transport that take you to the TV Tower. Never mind that you can take a Bolt car where ever you are in the city to drive there on your own if you have the drivers license and get the app for it. Or you can use the Bolt app in the way of taxi that is also way way cheaper then taxi. To be honest i dont see a point these Taxi anymore at all. Too many ways that are way cheaper to use

The St Olaf church would be better viewing platform. Some say it was once the tallest building in the world, but got lightning strikes all the way in time and because of that has burned couple of times. The upper part is now shorter than it used to be. But climbing is hard, no elevator. There is an elevator though to the tower of St Nicholas church. Burned as well, but not by lightning but the KGB to destroy some of our heritage, we suspect.

How claustrophobic is it in those tunnels? I love history and Cold War stuff.

It’s not bad at all - plenty of room. You’d love them!

You can actually go on the St. Olaf's Church and get a better view of old town and the city!
