I got one of those cheap handheld “eight bit” game systems for a CRT television set that I got for free, and it has some weird funky eight bit remix of Yankee Doodle on the menu and game selection screen, pretty obnoxious, but pretty comical. For 18 bucks, you can’t really complain at that price point

That screen looks like it's the same connection as the rs-60 hand held just slightly bigger in size. Cool teardown always awesome to see inside.
If this little thing can be hacked to handle 32-bit emulation, this can be a monster.

I think this is fun and stylish, very retro 70s.
It's not really an emulator console just a little fun time waster for boring train rides or
for car trips that are boring or for playing around while waiting for something. Cool.

That was good fun. I have the little red handheld version, and like you I was surprised by both the volume of the speaker and the AV output. It's a fun little collectible certainly. Those games have a real NES clone feel to them.

That game “Super Hero” was a clone of Felix the Cat with different graphics. Also I think F22 is a different game with the storyline removed.

That's such a cute looking unit. Shame that the games on it are a bit rubbish, and there's no way to easily add roms with SD card.

Half the fun with this specific romset for me was figuring out which games were graphics hacks of copyrighted Famicom originals. The Popeye music, for example, was a dead giveaway.
They hide them towards the end.
But most games in this set are just disappointing homebrews. And not so bad that they're Action 52 worthy, either. They're just incredibly shallow, to the point where a lot of it feels Game and Watch.
