Thank you so much for sharing this! It is very hard to get people to understand a child with severe autism. My son is one of them. These kids with severe autism get such a bad rep because they can't verbalize their thoughts. Thank goodness for people like IDO KEDAR! #IdoinAutismland

My son is autistic as well as my daughter they are twins. Ethan is non verbal and this makes it extremely difficult to understand his thoughts and intentions, me and my wife were at a total loss of hope until we read Ido's book. Now we see our son and daughter as well in a different light one that is bright and full of possibilities. Thank you Ido ❤️

I was just diagnosed with autism at 36. My psychologist gave me a bunch of materials and Ido is quoted in one of them. He seems cool.

He looks like somebody that I keep meeting. I do remember that the person that looked like him is in my school and was in Marine class during 1st period. I had first period and he looks like he's quite special educated.

This kind of looks like that facilitated communication nonsense. Can this guy do this on his own while also taking care of himself. If he was normal except for speech he would be able to do these things.

Ido has motor planning differences, which makes it very challenging to control his body's movements. Intentional actions are difficult.

Facilitated communication is where the adult/caretaker holds the hand of the nonverbal person. This is different because he is doing it on his own. No, he can't take care of himself because he has other disabilities secondary to autism (sensory processing, motor planning, possibly executive functioning, etc.) that make living by himself near impossible. However, that does not mean these aren't his words. I've worked with nonverbal children for 15 years, most of whom use some sort of device like this. Some have cerebral palsy, others are autistic, others are nonverbal due to a seizure disorder or other underlying condition. Not speaking with one's mouth does not make one stupid. Are deaf people dumb? What about when I choose to type my answers here--you cannot hear me speaking them. How do you know I'm doing it by myself?
