From my understanding, the fallout from the whole Ryuen vs. Ayanokoji debacle was that Ryuen’s class got demoted to class D & as a result they advanced. Ryuen was supposed to be expelled from that incident which would’ve demoted his class, but he wasn’t bc Ayanokoji still wanted to use him yet his class was still demoted. That’s what I initially gathered (I haven’t read the light novels so there could’ve been something else - feel free to correct me if you’ve read😊)

Its explained more clearly in the LN, but each member of the class that gets expelled costs the class 100 class points, and it costs 300 more class points + 20,000,000 private points on top of the 100 point penalty to bring them back. Both Class 3-A and 3-B got set back the same amount of class points, but Class 3-A lost 20,000,000 private points which is enough for them to buy out lots of advantages in upcoming exams, or prevent the expulsion of an important class member
From what I've heard, the studio is trying to adapt 4 or 5 light novel volumes into a 13 episode season (for reference, eminence in shadow adapted 2 volumes for the first season with 20 eps and 1.5 volumes for the second season with 13 eps), so yeah there's prob going to be a lot of cut content. There's more "important"/bigger (idk how to call it lol) content and exams after this so I guess the studio is focusing more on that season than what was already shown. 13:45 Class D promotion to Class C happened after the last exam in season 2. They mentioned the promotion in the first episode of season 3 so wasn't really skipped, but more so brushed over. Also yes, Koenji is the GOAT.
i mean theyve done that for every season lol, they usually adapt 3 eps per volume. PPL are complaining since they adpated volume 8 in 2 eps. At this time it may seem crazy however i think the majority of ln readers will agree either volume 10 or 11 are the best of the series, so if they rush this volume to give an extra ep for either of those volumes, i think it may work.

They skipped like 15 chapters worth of details 💀💀 So here are some non spoilers explanation to some the vague dialogues... 1) Yukimora was chosen as the groups leader not by everyone's consent but they skipped the whole process of Ayanokoji joining the team and how yuki was chosen leader but it isnt important dw.. All you need to know here is that Ishizaki and the squad character developmemt is about to bloom ☺️☺️ (and yes he is onw of my fav characters in the novel) 2- Ayano and Koenji conversation was more mysterious in the novel, it seemed that Ayanokoji was trying to give it a shot with koenji but he gave up, leaving Koenji with that arm hold as a warning (I guess) koenji figures out Ayano is the mastermind then Ayano gives up on him after evaluating his usefulness to him ( remember that Ayano evaluates his tools before using them) it will come later how this will affect Koenji..... 3- They skipped how Ayano took charge of ×2 the distance of the other members in the race 😂 ( they skipped everyone's distance too it was mentiomed in the novel but wtv) also the other members were surprised that Ayano did well in his test ( he did it to raise their score as much as possible) Whwn Ayano took ×2 distance it was in a way responding to koenji's stubborness ( if you dont listen and do your job well then I will decrease the amount of work you are assigned to) and if I remember correctly that woke sth up in koenji to atleast not mess up the run 4- what is going to happen to Horikita Manubu now....??? So first he had one of his classmates expelled that = him falling from class A to B ( Nagumu accounts this to a win bcs 3rd years have only 1 or 2 exams left and this is a HUGE blow that wont be easy to over come with just one or two exams to Manubu and so he starts hestirically laughing in victory) but he pulls and UNO card and saves her by buying her right not to be expelled which is btw = 20 MILLION points 💀 btw thatw as so shocking move in the novel!!!! Wveryone was gasping.... Even shocked Ayanokoji!!! He had already expected Horikota to lose and fall but sth wasnt part of his expectations and in a way we get a glimps of Ayano instrest getting pieked by Manubu becoming teh first character to intrest Ayano. 5- lastly Manubu is now in huge danger not only he lost 20 million points that might have been critical to the 3 years in their upcoming final exams tests ( somw of which will be joined with the 2nd years) but also he will be directly attacked by Nagumu who revealed his two faced nature so that makes Manubu an easy target to Nagumu Btw Nagumu's plan is to Humilate Manubu by not making him graduate a a Class A student and makes his class drop in ranks = the first srudent president ever not to graduate from class A so yeah Nagumu is a Fox ( and Ayano has that in mind afyer this incident) N. B the whole convo between Ryuen, Nagumu and Manubu was actually heard in the novel but Idk if I should spoil content of it so I wont, lets wait and see if they will later add it to teh story 👍 ( snippet :- they talked about Ayano lol)

They had card games to see who would cook breakfast/nagumo testing Ayanokouji Hashimoto - guy in class a with ponytail checking if ryuen was still class leader bc he has back up plans to transfer to any class thats first just in case class A fails The girl' charm was originally after Ayanokouji met his father but he did speak to her in this volume. But this volume is usually regarded as the 2nd worst in the first year. Volume 11 and 11.5 have more priority in terms of episodes bc of the importance of them

I haven’t seen anyone talking about it all or seen any promotion for it either. Didn’t know about until randomly saw it in my recommended on Hulu lol. I have a feeling it’s gonna be super underrated for awhile. Hopefully Hulu starts promoting like it deserves.

That's STATED, the anime adaptation basically said 'kouenji is an egoist who does more than what he can say' but in reality the LN says 'kouenji is an egoist who does things that are below what he says' Not only that, trex scene(it's meant to indicate that kouenji and Koji are equal in terms of strength(and yes, pp size represents how strong you are idk how)), card game scene with nagumo and Koji(someone in the comment talked Abt it) and the scene with ryuen, hashimoto, manabu and nagumo. Koji overheard everything, but in the anime adaptation, he didn't. I don't want to spoil it, since it might be adapted in the future. But that confrontation indicates that Ryuen and Nagumo are 'quite alike'
Well, the class points are updated every first day of the month. In the second season, Ayanokoji's class has defeated Ryuen's class in paper shuffle, leading to Ayanokoji's class surpass Ryuen's class in class points. However, before the class points could be updated, they went on a winter vacation. That's why they were not moved up to class c in second season. Ayanokoji did said to Ryuen that his class will be entering class c at the start of the third semester. This special exam takes place at the start of the third semester. They did not skip any exam rather they showed whole of volume 8 of COTE in 2 episodes
It's a shame because in this volume Nagumo's plan was one of the best in the entire series, but it all got cut out and he just looks like a cocky idiot
President nagumo was supposed to be flushed out in this volume he even interacted with ayano playing a game of cards to see why horikita manabu sees him as a special person. Nagumo also interacted with koenji Which was very interesting.
i say this with so much regret, but last season and this season of the show have been skipping over like 95% of the LN material, if i was an anime only I would have no fucking idea what's going on and why shit happens, it's such a shame thought cuz the LN is IMO top 1 best LN ever

The entire season is going to feel rushed because they're trying to cram 5 volumes into 12 episodes. We'll essentially be getting a cliff notes summary of each event in order to wrap up year one within the episodes available.

They did not skip any exam rather they showed whole of volume 8 of COTE in 2 episodes

President nagumo was supposed to be flushed out in this volume he even interacted with ayano playing a game of cards to see why horikita manabu sees him as a special person. Nagumo also interacted with koenji Which was very interesting.
