    I'm a social work student and I chose this field after working in special education and respite work. I love the way that social work has a sociological lense but also applies features of psychology. This blend makes it interesting and dynamic to me. I also love the variety of roles you can have as a social worker and the way you can facilitate change through a mix of counseling and resourcing. The diversity of the job is appealing for me as a person who needs challenges in my work.

    Thank you for your videos, I am excited to move into the social work field. I am currently Military Police, and my BA will be in Criminal Justice, once I retire in 2 years, I am excited to help people improve their lives, and walk through problems using knowledge from the military as well as experiences from school and clinical to earn my MSW. Right now, a focus on foster care or veterans through the VA system is what my goal is, ultimately earning my LCSW. Your videos are and were helpful as you went through school and the impact the field is having on you post-graduation.

    Heyy!, I just subbed because I love the fact that you go over social work. I am a future social worker, I’m currently a senior in high school and I’ve always loved helping children and families and willing to accept the difficulties of helping others. I decided to go further into knowledge of social work as a head start to prepare myself. I should be starting college fall of 2023, I really look forward to it.

    Hey Anna! I commented on one of your videos recently as I’m checking out your channel for the first time. I am also a social work student heading into my last year of my BSW. I will definitely be using your line of empowerment. It definitely is another reason why I want to be in this field. Not only to give someone the power to help change their live, but to also help make a difference in someone’s life.❤ Heading into my first internship this fall. I am nervous but excited for it as well! Perhaps you can provide some advice or link me to some😂if you’ve done an advice video in the past. -Marcus😊

    Thank you for sharing your love for social work! Would you say that you've always loved the field? How did you stay motivated throughout both of your programs?

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think keeping an eye on the end goal and the bigger picture helped me stay motivated through both programs! It definitely got hard sometimes. I think I've always loved what the field can be, but sometimes it becomes tougher to love some realities of working within broken systems ... but then I also strive to change the broken systems so it can be a bit of a love/hate relationship

  • @williamchin5904

    Thanks for the vid. I've been thinking of going into social work for two years but I haven't gotten around to entering into the program. Not to be too direct, talking about heavy subjects, but I have the obstacle that I come from an immigrant asian house hold with a very unique combinations of ethicities, it's technically chinese but we're discriminated against in China and malaysia, any way it's a narcisstic household (by white collar mental health caucasian definitions) however from my perspective, as someone who has taken 2 psych courses in my university degree and who studies it much online independantly my entire life as someone who intuitively reads people, their behaviour is almost an understandable inevitability, not that it's to be condoned. Anyway, hopefully I can pray to god and motivate myself to enter the program into school/geriatric social work. Thanks if you've read all of this and have a great day!

    I love your passion for the social work profession. I have a BA degree in Communications. I am currently working in an entry-level social service job. Is there an accelerated social worker degree in BA or Master's degree?

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there are accelerated programs when masters students already have their bachelor of social work, but two-years is typical for anyone coming in with any other bachelor degree. I believe Fordham's program is 16 months! I think that's the quickest I've seen
