I just love what this free-spirited family have achieved for themselves. They have built a beautiful tiny home which has freed them financially to pursue their passions, and they have built a lifestyle which connects them to nature and each other. I love seeing a family that has lived in their tiny home for more than just a few months...5 years is awesome! It shows it's not just a honeymoon phase. Also I love that the house is beautiful and it represents the whole point of living tiny...to not have debt and more freedom.
These people are like true pioneers. Living off grid, building their own home, being conscious of what they use and need, being a family and working/playing together. They have room to ad on as well. So much potential! I love their view of the surrounding countryside. They are definitely Living Big!
And a Mother as well. Figuring out how to scale your lifestyle down so that you can stay home & make raising your child(ren) your #1 priority is EVERYTHING!!!
I'm completely fatherless, but now I am a father and have a daughter and will spend as much time as I could to be with her, and never ever let her feel the same as I was.
Simply, amazing! This is what God intended. Fall in love, create a home and, start a family, large or small. Life is meaningful and, mindful. Your Son is benefitting from his young experiences and, chances are, he will create another generation of simple living. God Bless, for a wonderful, future.
I keep thinking I’ve seen my favorite house and owners and they just keep getting better. I think your interviewing skills, Bryce, and the cinematography by Rasa, keeps improving so you can better show us both the house and the heart of these folks. I also think you should take credit for turning so many people towards tiny living with your fabulous channel. I really cannot thank you enough!
4:50 Wilderness savvy people! A hand drill to make fires! Hurrah! My four.children teach wilderness awareness and skills to children 6-16. It’s awesome to see a tinder bundle and all in use! I love the slats for the bed mattress, which saves on space and the walkway between the two sleeping areas, well, play area for the little one that is. I too had a family bed until each child was ready to be on their own. I think part of children’s self confidence stems from their having a deep and solid foundation of trust… trust to know and be able to decide when they are ready for a new step, a new way. Awesome life you three!
Whenever you upload, Bryce & Rasa, it's always 'WOW' time and this one is no exception. SO much to love about this slightly quirky (nice quirky) dwelling - the rope and rails; the bookcases; the ingenious storage in the joists; the bed arrangement. Even the profile of the veranda roof adds interest. Di & Steve (& Samson), may you continue to thrive in this 'beyond' stunning location...
Like the deck with the shed roof and solar panels combined! And nice floor plan, it really does work! Thanks again for another phenomenal shoot Bryce and Rasa! And thank you for making my day!
Think it is great that these parents are embracing being close to their child at night. It's how we lived for most of human history and how many people around the world still live. These days we are often so consumed with getting children to be independent - stop nursing, stop co-sleeping, get potty trained, sleep in their own bed in their own room and then it's off to preschool and on and on. Some of it is economics-motivated, but some of it is just the culture we grow up in. A child can maintain close ties while still becoming independent thinkers and learners.
Yes my son is half Indian and it’s pretty normal in India for their kids to sleep in the same bed as the parents. Our son sleeps in our bed, as he gets scared at night to be on his own- most of my family in Australia berate me for having him in our bed, except for a few mother’s who get that kids grow up so fast and say to spend as much time with them as possible. I remember being constantly frightened as a child sleeping in my own room. However, in saying that, some kids are really good sleepers. I have an older daughter who would take herself off to her own bedroom at night and sleep the whole night through, no problem. I think it depends on the child - what the child prefers and can cope with.
@@rubyredjeansgood advice , kids have different needs , parents have different work hours , sleeping patterns and needs we should try to be inclusive .
i agree. our 7 year old sometimes still co-sleeps if that's what suits their needs. i've always acted instinctively and not listened to what books, etc say. did everything when they were ready, nothing has been forced. sometimes i feel we're out on a limb and the only ones in our area doing things this way, but then i see how bonded, independent, sociable, loving, funny and intelligent our child is, and i know we're doing fine. mostly, i feel really close to my child. i've been reading 'Hold on to Your Kids' about keeping the child-parent attachment as more important than peer-attachment and it makes total sense to me. our wee one is wonderful and i've also prioritised being an at-home mother since birth. we don't have a lot of money, we get by. but nothing i could buy is more important than being with my child.
At a point when he wants his own private spaceI remember bringing home a newborn and told they must sleep in their own room. Then a few years later they said to put the baby in your room for at least six months. That would be so satisfying to the parents too.
Probably the most comfortable among the simply built homes I have seen. So practical in every way, yet still a beautiful and warm tiny house to live in. Genius design technically (every detail seems to be so well thought through). I keep thinking about Samson and the most amazing childhood he will get there. A true dream :) Thank you Di and Steve for sharing your home with us. It's absolutely inspiring! I was blown away by how little you have spent to make this beautiful beautiful home a reality. I am sure it took a lot of work to realise it. Bryce and Rasa - you are doing more for our planet with your inspiring videos than most politicians and campaigners. Thank you.
We loved filming this one Andy! The location was an adventure to get to, but it sure was worth it! Such a cool family and home. Hope you enjoy the episode and your coffee! ☕
Thanks Bryce for another wonderful video. Being a Sri Lankan living in Qatar for the last 12 years with my wife and 3 kids, I am always dreaming about living tiny, homesteading, off grid living, etc., but still I couldn’t materialize my dreams into reality though I am turning 40 next month September 2023.
This family embodies "living tiny" this is what its all about, recycled materials, living off grid more time to spend together as a family, with less debt over your head. They killed it!! Love their parking spot and love how they've had the guts to get out there and build their dream to live off grid. Amazing!! Thankyou Bryce and Rasa you guys have done it again, love your interviews and camera work, as well as bringing us another wonderful family and their home.🙏🏾🧡
My parents have just retired and want to get into building a tiny house. I love showing them your channel… sadly they don’t understand much since they only understand german. But! I keep seeing your videos on their recommended page so they’re probably watching anyways :D
You can have the captions in German. Hit CC to turn them on, then hit the “gear” symbol. When it shows the word captions - hit that then select “auto translate” hit that and languages will pop up. Select what you want. Try it and let me know if it works for you. I don’t know if I explained it clearly. 😎🐈⬛
This is a beautiful home made with love and thoughtful touches, as well as caring for the environment. What a beautiful location! Wishing this family a lovely life in their new location!
Love watching the tiny home adventures. We don’t have a tiny home but last year we moved a beautiful 1950’s home to our 120 acre fully off grid property. Absolutely loving the off grid life style!! A tiny home on another part of the property is next. Can’t wait.
BLESS these people for giving their son the life he's living. True living examples of how to make the world a better place. We must begin keeping our children grounded & healthy. Gives me so much hope
I loved when he said, "The locals, the birds are all starting to settle in with us here too. We've got 2 little resident Magpies and we're starting to see the changes in that story that flicks through the year." Then she said, " I feel that we are starting to be accepted by the landscape here."
Love the simplicity of this home and the use of all the recycled materials. Well done guys, a great reminder how beautiful and affordable a self built tiny can be.
Fantastic video. I think it's great they have their son next to them. I believe that decreases anxiety in children. Great location and I love the porch space. Thank you
This reminds me of our tiny jungle home in Costa Rica! what a wonderful way of living, fully connected and over all, growing happy and in peace, hugs from this part of the world, hope you can come this way one day man!
Putting the mattress directly on top of a slatted loft floor is such a great idea. Granted, it locks you into where the bed goes, but it's incredibly clever for maximizing head room. I'm taking notes!
Not sure about this - I really couldn't sleep in a claustrophobic loft and although they said they cook outside mostly, if they do cook inside the mattress will absorb all the aerosoled fats, aromas, water vapour etc. The 2 aspects of the majority of the tiny homes is the upstairs sleeping and the big next to the kitchen. I would rather have bedroom on ground floor, kitchen at other end and seating, relax area upstairs. Cludge would be in a lean to outside if composting.
Stunning location, beautiful home, and a genuinely lovely family. This was a grand treat, had me smiling the whole way thru and that was just what I needed today. Thank you.

Love waking up on Saturday morning to watch your next Tiny House episode 😃 Not sure I could do the bucket loo inside the house but hey it works, it’s simple and it’s right for them 😊
Can I just say, that this is one of the good location to have a solitude and a peaceful living that you can have for your future family. Such a wonderful sight! 🌿🥰
So beautiful. I love seeing folks who move to the tiny house way of life to create more peace tor themselves and their families. Like the mama said, her nervous system relaxes properly when she comes home, and thats something fewer and fewer of us have a chance to do day to day. Its a blessing to see it is possible, it is.
What a great episode. Very good tiny home with large outdoor deck space and functional interior. The craft work shines through in a pragmatic way. Beyond that, this family seem nice and have comfortably adapted to this new way of living, interfacing with nature. Married to the land.
Greetings from México. I watch your videos from the beginning, and I have a piece of land in the forests of Michoacan very similar to the one in your video, my heart jumps to start making a tiny house there, thank you very much for your inspirational videos
Love it! I like seeing you teaching some circus skills too. I live in a small town that has a circus history and a youth circus every July. Cheers from Indiana!
First of all what a great video once again! The location is simply stunning and the house is cozy and snug yet functional, come to think of it we need so little to have a comfortable good life, most of the things in life are just unnecessary clutter. And so interesting how Bryce said that now more than ever a lot of us are YEARNING to return to simplicity and nature, because this is EXACTLY how I feel especially while watching these videos!
