Young Woman's Off-Grid Tiny House & Farm By The Ocean

- Situated on a dream family farm overlooking the ocean, this young woman has created a beautiful tiny house to call home.
The farm has been in Kacey's family for 150 years and 5 generations of her family have farmed this land. Still today, her grandparents, parents, aunties, uncles and siblings share this beautiful bit of land together.
To be able to return home to the farm after collage, yet still retain her independence, Kacey decided to build a tiny house. The resulting home is wonderfully constructed with everything she needs. Its style is modern with a vintage twist. A wrap around deck creates fantastic indoor / outdoor flow and enables the home to take full advantage of its wonderful location overlooking the ocean inlet.
The tiny home is off the grid with power from an impressive solar array and water from the farms own supply.
Ultimately, this is an affordable dream home which has allowed Kacey to continue to be part of a family legacy while retaining her autonomy.

This tiny home is nothing short of stunning. As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of multigenerational living and seeing a family farm, which is shared by so many generations warms my heart. I love it when young people don't mind living near their family. It shows that there must be a strong bond of love and care and concern. I'm glad that she feels warm and at home with her family. That says a lot that so many of them are still around on the farm. Love this tiny house! I like old things as well, so I really appreciate the lovely chairs and that cute little mirror behind the chairs and the Jane Austen books.

This tiny house is so special. From the family connection to the well thought out design. The young lady has such a great sense of humor. Her choices of family furniture and stained glass ( by her mother) brings a unique and cozy atmosphere.
It truly is a lovely house and so great to have family furniture to put in it. Looks really comfy and spacious. I think I need to find my family that owns land though so I can put a tiny house on. 🤣

Oh my goodness! Every single place in New Zealand is gorgeous, and this one is impossibly so! What a fantastic home. It must feel like heaven to live there.
This is my new favourite! I love the split staircase, the vintage/modern fusion, the stained glass, the macrocarpa benches, but most of all, the two entrances. I work on the land and often come home filthy - every time I see tiny houses with just one entrance straight into the living area, my first thought is 'what happens if you come home wet or muddy?' This house is perfect!
Stacy's sense of style & humor were radiating throughout the video. From outside to inside, just a beautiful, spacious setup. I really loved the upstairs hangout space & the kitchen. I wish her much happiness there.❤

Kacey I just love the open space, lake views geez and Rasa just capture that beautifully as usual ❤️❤️ beautiful wrap around deck indeed, something I’m thinking of doing to my container home as well. The wood benches sizes are great for outdoor entertaining. Love the section with chairs and old pictures looks comfy like a den or cigar room and as Bryce said vintage look😀 very nice. This is a beautiful home. I could move in straight away, lol. The split staircase is amazing. I love the decorating and, really, it has everything I would ever need. It's a really well-though out plan, the location is stunning, and that deck is fantastic. It must be a real pleasure to live there.

Love the references to the ‘fight’ she and her brother have that he’s invading her privacy-and then you see where his home is located. Pfff…almost need a MAP! Lol. Loved that part where she suggest he plant a tree so she can’t see his house. OMG…bet they’re a hoot to everyone else when they get going. And this house! Amazing!
I love this one! I love the style of her interior, but my favorite thing is the dual staircase and the "mud room" into the laundry/bath area. That's perfect for rural living. I'd like to do something like that.

I love this beautiful home. The appearance isn’t tiny at all. I love the layout and the features as well as the openness. The deck is a huge outdoor living area of itself. Beautiful home and how lucky to have such a beautiful place to put the home. Her mum's artwork really is a special touch plus Kacey's use of the dark color was really a great choice. I love how she acknowledges all those involved in building and adding to the home such as the guys who built the deck and her uncle who built the off grid system.
I love this so much! we bought a farm late last year and I'm hoping my children and their children can also go off and build their own small homes on the land.

Mostly tiny houses would have a couch first thing in the entrance...I just loved those beautiful chairs and the frames in the background, the beautifully painted wall ,It was so refreshing and a lovely digression from the boring couch thing. Secondly that staircase with the triangle step is so chic. Tracey's cool ,joyful persona shines through the design of this house. Never loved a tiny house so much.

literally the farm spans 3 centuries beginning in the 1870s. so special to be able to create your own space while still having the connection to family and earth, with spectacular views of the sea, mountains and sky. just beautiful.

I love how the clear corrugated panels of the partially enclosed entryway echo the black corrugation of the exterior sheathing. Very good choice! I also like the dark accent walls--that kitchen backsplash is gorgeous--and a dark sleeping loft makes perfect sense to me. Lastly, that split staircase may be mini, but it is most definitely grand!
I really enjoyed this tour of Kacey's home. It's amazing how striking and lovely the dark walls are, and yet the house doesn't look dark. Lovely to see the vintage features and pops of colour. What draws the eye in this tiny house is the surrounding nature. The view through the bedroom window is charming, really as if we are in front of a painting created by the hands of a painter.......

I love this adorable house. My favorite part is the "vintage" nook downstairs! And the black walls are surprisingly very nice. You would think it would make it seem smaller, but it doesn't at all.

Serendipity; the sum is greater than the individual parts. I love how she made so many whimsical, playful and sometimes simple practical small decisions and it all came together into such a unique and unified overall statement. Really well done. I think the careful use of black walls, really well balanced, is what ties it all together and makes it pop. Elegantly simple but close to magic.

Loveliest tinyhouse I've seen yet. I especially love Kacey's artistic play on colour, which has also happened in my own home a bit by accident, where I enjoy how modern black furniture and objects that normally seem mundane become as chic as wrought ironwork when paired with white and the two actually set off every other colour and texture, each becoming more vibrant and individual, the whole spectrum throbbing in a very balanced palette, not crazy at all, just glorious. Bravo! Encore!
