Not one mention of the Colt 1900 being the first pistol to use a slide. That is what the 1900 is known for. Two pistols designed by Browning came out in 1900, the Colt 1900 and the FN M1900, and both are considered the first to use a slide.
Gentlemen: I thank you, Rock Island and Brownells for this excellent, instructive and very valuable video, and - in fact - for all of these “From the Vault” TH-cams. Sadly, I am compelled to comment on the current state of Colt, when compared to the highly revered design and manufacturing organization of 100+ years ago (and, fundamentally, through the late Twentieth Century). Obviously, in time virtually all things change; however, it’s unfortunate that a corporation with merited iconic stature has essentially committed suicide during the last perhaps 35 years, to the clear detriment of the firearms community.
Thank you for all of the time and effort that both Brownells and RIA put into making the "From the Vault" videos. You do a great job.

Colt went bankrupt a couple of times in the 1800's also. It seems they've just been plagued by mismanagement from the get go.
@Robert Scott: I agree, and that plausible mismagamant throughout the last decades is, in my opinion, the basic cause of Colt’s suicide.
