Hi Gabe, over here in Germany everybody wears a fanny pack for style. So here it is actually a great opportunity to conceal a firearm if you are one of the few licensed o do so. I prefer iwb but sometimes it does Not work. Thanks for your suggestions. Good bless you
In California, I have walked up to several police officers, just to talk, I had my Glock 26 in a fanny pack. Not one ever gave my "fanny pack" a second look, and CCW was relatively rare at that time. "Gun Guys" might know, but the general public, not so much,
Yes....exactly! Gun guys know! Exactly what I was telling myself when watching this video. I see "geeks" and "hikers" wear them all the time and who knows....maybe they are packing. It's an application...and it works from some and doesnt for others. I like both applications.
The general public is absolutely oblivious. You can wear a T-shirt that says “ask about my concealed handgun” and nobody would notice. There are countless videos of people open carrying into Walmart/Burger King/ etc and nobody pays attention. Or if they do they don’t care.
I carry a vertx satchel. Mostly because I work all the time and that’s the only way to have it inside the building with me. I have the AIWB holster on there too so I can transition pretty quickly. Bags have a use, but belt carry is superior.
I carried a gym type fanny pack for my J frame when I was a peace officer in NYC. It was comfortable /readily available and a few times I had my hand on the gun when dealing with a few ticklish situations. Once was 3AM on a subway platform when I rounded a corner and saw a man leaning against the wall. He gave me a smirk and started towards me when I ripped open the fanny packs zipper and grabbed my gun ( but didn’t pull it out) He stopped dead in his tracks and his eyes went from my face to my pack several times. ( I was tempted to say something like, “ Well punk-am I bluffing? Do you feel lucky? But held my tongue. He soon calmly backed away before turning tail and running. I don’t carry fanny anymore but for those who do I’d recommend not getting a “tactical” Fanny pack but one designed for gym/running ware. (As to police officers-only once-when flagging down a NYPD cruiser to point out a possible stolen car-did an officer eye my pack with suspicion but didn’t say anything.) Of course this demands a compact-as opposed to full size-handgun. He slowly backed up before turning & running so I let him go.
Most people are oblivious and aren’t firearms enthusiasts. Walking around with a fanny pack of the local high school football team is different than walking around with an XL tacticool padded bag with your favorite insta-goon’s newest patch. I off body carry at work because I sit at a desk most of the time and I guarantee you my coworkers have no idea what’s in the bag.
Sheeple dont know shit about what you carrying...there observation skills are zero. Im also in my 50s so can get away with fashion sucking. It provides a bigger gun and or easier grab in winter clothing.
I had that exact pack in the same color. Yeah, I'd carry it in exactly the same kinds of circumstances. At the gym or in the outdoors. It was an easy way to carry a minimalist amount of outdoor survival gear.
Embarrassingly, I carried on a fanny pack in the 90’s when I was a new LEO. Not gonna make excuses, it was just a thing. It didn’t take me long to figure out it was a giant billboard that said “I’m a cop.” I did not like that and got rid of the reserve parachute look. I’m pretty surprised they are making a comeback.
I think we all did bro. I laughed at some buffoon commenting that said we were 15 years behind the times. 🤣🤣🤣🤣B*tch, we were ahead of the curve when you were still swimming in yo daddy's nutsack.😆
I disagree been carrying fanny pack since the early 2000’s before I retried when this state was no concealed carry only for LEO. Here is the thing this like grey man THING, if your wearing anything tactical IE certain brands , certain bag etc etc assume he is armed . I can tell your armed carrying appendix or any IWB style you got. Because fanny or sling bags are popular your not being weak on the concealed game! If you train with your fanny pack or bag your gonna be the same as affective from your garment and concealment. This is an old school thinking or don’t wear camo , don’t have a vertx bag or 5.11 your giving yourself away
@@BoriquaTactical I’ve been retired 3 years, and my walrus mustache, short hair and vigilance give me away. I could be wearing pajamas and people would still come up to me and ask if I’m a cop. 😆 Good points about being discreet. Fanny packs just aren’t my thing.
So if mom carries concealed, but takes a pack with a second firearm, and maybe something bad happened and maybe my daughters shot comperition, and maybe had some training, and just randomly could unzip the bag fast...... All totaly hypothetical of course.
Much of the judgemental explanation doesn't matter. I doubt Suarez reads the comments also. In many places people don't care about the concealing for the sake of concealing. In many places people would carry open carry if they could because they don't care if people know. It's a moot point for people who don't care about concealing. I don't carry "off-body", and I do carry concealed. However, many people just don't care; and that's okay.
I lived in Arizona for 12 years and had a CCW license from Scottsdale Gun Club. I moved to Las Vegas NV. and my CCW expired. Vegas makes it very difficult 😣 to obtain a CCW license. 🤨FYI? I unfortunately open carry! 😕
@@theunknownatheist3815 The class is the easy part. But waiting at the police station to get fingerprinted is an all-day event or longer. When in AZ, during the one-day class, they did the fingerprinting. Make is easy for you not difficult!
Same thing here in FL. Guys with man purses or ‘bigger’ guys wearing a cross-body slung bags. You’re not fooling anybody. Do some work. Try some stuff out. They’re probably carrying an LCP or 365 anyway.
Well of course you can't carry some square ass fanny pack that has a neon "GUN" sign on it! If you're going to carry one, it needs to look like the rest of the sling bags/fanny packs that everyone uses now a days.
I very rarely see a dude walking wearing a Fanny pack. When I do the very first thing I think is “gun.” It’s so rare here I think the same thing when I see a woman wearing one.
The same logic applies to cars and trucks in red states. There’s a 75% chance there’s a gun in the glove compartment. And if I’m a criminal a 100% chance that gun will be mine. If it’s legal for you to carry, then carry. If it’s illegal for you to carry, do what’s in your best interest.
I tried the Fanny pack but I just couldn’t get with it. All these jacked SOF guys with beards and sleeve tatts aren’t fooling anyone. Might as well be open carrying.
Tons of respect for you sir, but i have carried a double stack Glock IWB, OWB, or deep (Smart Carry) since 2008... I see a man with fanny pack and I immediately see either senior citizen with a CCW or one of those skinny jeans wearing metrose*xual types, 😂. After I got out of the infantry, I came up thru the school of dress around the gun and it's comforting, not comfortable... but honestly over the past years... I jist never think about it and I'm never without it.

Definitely depends on the area. East coast major urban areas for example. Fanny packs or man purses will get a double take from most trained LE.

It’s all about what works for the individual based on application. No one really cares, and gun guys assume everyone is packing so…
…they knew

I was always taught that off body carry is dangerous. We should have our firearm on us at all times, especially in a public space.
Maybe a bag to carry a folding brace pistol of some sort.
Nothing conceals like a J-frame. If I had weapons, that’s how I’d roll. Never jams. Always works.

I say let em carry however they want. Time and experience is a great teacher.

And you’re worried about “sheeple” because… who you should be worried about are the predators and they certainly like to scope out who is carrying…
CCW on the belt, fanny pack with extra goodies in front.
Never in the fanny.
Good stuff thanks! Will you offer another double action pistol training course?
Every method has their pros and cons. Of course it depends on the situation and body type. I’ll never carry appendix style, though.
Of course you won't 😆😆😆😆
@ Why is that funny?
@ Appendix-carry if you have the room to spare down there 👇 😆

Does said daughter understand the nuances of the lawful use of lethal force? Hypothetically, of course
And if you're carrying one while backpacking, the pistol is close to where it lives when you're appendix carrying.
I use one all the time mountain biking. Works great. Don’t care how it looks. Cyclists usually look a little silly as it is.

Very difficult?. BS. Take a class, pay the fee, done. Not difficult unless you’re dead broke or can’t shoot. 😂

I don't see a weapon could be easily accessed from one of those if under a hands on assault.
My Flux Raider rides in a Vertx Tourist sling so I can run a J-frame AIWB.

Biggest downside, to slow to deploy.
If you’ve ever had major abdominal surgery you’ll know one scenario where a fanny pack is a great option for conceal carry.

Fanny pack is almost “open carry”
Fanny packs are made for pagers ,granola bars and hair gel.
Fanny packs tells everyone you have a gun
