    Great right right-hand clarification of Bebop basics! Almost never though, in anyone's tutorial, do we get left hand voicings. Left hand holds the mysteries.

    • @JeremySiskind
      @JeremySiskind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Ananda! I did write a whole book called Playing Solo Jazz piano about what to do with your left hand. If you’re curious the sorts of things I’m doing with my left hand as I play the arpeggios on this video, I would recommend that you watch my video about shell voicings. I think it’s called Shell Voicings 101.

      Thanks Jeremy, and I am getting a lot out of this one video. Ever thinking about getting a venmo account? people will just drop bucks on you out of appreciation for what they're learning from the vids. I sure would. (I have plenty of books already). Thanks for replying.

      @@AnandaGBrady That's very nice! I'm not sure if it's my vibe to ask in that way, but if you feel compelled, you can always send money to @jeremy-siskind on Venmo. Thanks much!

    Does your book contain more of those? Like minor ii-V-i for example...
    Amateur tip: once I get it under my fingers I like to practice it with syncopated rhythm with rootless voicings in my left hand - this way I have a feeling of squeezing full value out of this excercises ;-)

    Hi Jeremy. Thanks for the meaningful and useful tips. I'll be purchasing Fundamentals vol 2 in a month or so. Would you recommend buying both volumes? Fortunately, I can afford both, but would vol 1 be a good preface to vol 2? I can ask you with full assurance because you're not chasing money. I primarily use hip Jazz tutorials for arranging/songwriting tips and eartraining, (Jerry Coker Hearing the Changes approach).I will also be practical, working steadily through to improve my playing(=sacred Jazz Vocalist obligatory skill/joyous Jazz improviser skill=Jazz Piano for non-pianists). Alles Gute from the JazzExile hip tricks thief. 🌹🌹🌹🌹😎
