Man, guidetones can solve so many musical problems. It's amazing how much you see the great bebop musicians utilizing guidetones in subtle and less subtle ways.
was referred by some of your pals. WOW!!! Great stuff, a Goldmine of Knowledge was the description of your videos, its really true!! You have great teaching skills. Thanks for this video, will return for more!!
One of the most useful lessons on your channel for us beginners and intermediate, I always come back to this, and hope it will be part of your second book
Jeremy i love your channel i've watched most of your videos . please work on your vocal microphone . i have to press the subtitles button to know what you're saying and i think your following will increase tremendously. thank you for your contributions to jazz piano
@@JeremySiskind There are very few gitarists, who treat the guitar as a full solo instrument, playing harmony basslines and melody , let stand think in counterpoint when treating rhytmchanges and related. Mostly just melody with backingtrack or othe type of harmony / drums background. Ofcourse it's not easy. Soon I will upload some video's.
The walk down guide line clashes with the harmony if you use the iv-7 substitution (G natural against Gb). What’s your recommendation for getting around this?
the guide tone concept is gold.

Thanks. Clear, helpful points.
Sure thing, Joyce!
There aren't any TH-cam channels better than this one. Maybe a few equals, but none better. Thanks!
Aw, thanks! What I lack in production value, I make up for in heart! (That’s what I tell myself, anyway)
Somehow you aren't telling me anything new, yet I grasp it much easier following your instructions. Much appreciated!
Good! I'm glad that my way of looking at things is helping you. Thanks for the comment!
So thankful for the clear and useful analysis of what's going on with this "simple" (NOT) tune. Go you!
Not simple at all! My pleasure!

This is great - thanks!! Will there be a B section?
Ah - didn’t think of that because that’s the “easy” part but I’m sure I could think of something or urged to say! I’m glad you liked it!
Good stuff!

Hi! At 21:21, are the notes in the Blues Scale: Bb - Db - Eb - E - F - Ab - Bb ?
Looks right to me!
Which one of your books explains this and the bebop concepts ?
Jazz Piano Fundamentals, Book 2! jeremysiskind.com/product/jazz-piano-fundamentals-book-2/

Thanks! That’s a pretty old video - I think I have gotten better at close-micing my voice (although I do sometimes forget)
Why can't I add this to my TH-cam playlist of jazz tutorials?
I....don't know. Sorry! 😢
They just changed the icon, so I still can... sorry about that !
wow
Haha, thanks, Chris!
Please slowly explain...thanks...
I hear you! I know talking too quickly is one of my (many) flaws. 😊
