I was thinking in my head "I love that Japanese pick their English accent", but then she brings up Melbourne! Totally knew it was an Australian accent. As someone learning Japanese, I love your channel, because it offers a good mix of English and Japanese. Not to mention FOOD!
I love you guys together! Shizuka got that ESFJ poppy & excited side, but Stephanie has that ESFP swag & smooth criminal vibe that just fits each other so well *chefs kiss* 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
i tried some craft gin while visiting sapporo last autumn. it totally blew me away, made roku gin taste like bathwater. i lived in japan for 11 years awhile ago before craft alcohol became a thing anywhere. i never got into sake then and shochu was just a cheap blast mix. for clear spirits i like a nice vodka tonic, not a gin guy, but i was sipping this craft gin neat. sadly i don’t recall the bottle. hokkaido blueberry paired with okinawa shikwasa would be excellent taste combination, bookending the two furthest points of japan. japanese craft gin kinda makes sense as riffing off the nation’s two classic clear spirits, sake and shochu. excellent introduction to a breathtaking new horizon of spirits.
Steph's from Melbourne? Hahah! Thought I recognised the accent. And she knows all the gin distilleries.. how about the rum places? There's a very nice one down in Dromana, have you been there? Their navy rum is a thing of spicy beauty! Also, not to mention the whisky... I'm sure she's been to The Gospel as well. Now that's a lovely whisky! Have you tried their Solera rye? I'm sipping on it as I speak... (type)...
Soon as I heard Stephany talk I knew she has an Aussie accent!!!! 👍🏻 I love a whiskey never really got into Gin the honey and blue vein cheese looked so good!!!!! 😊
Thanks for the cool video about Japanese gin Shizuka! Stephanie was a great cohost, and I liked her nails! Just wondering if she is from Australia? Matane!
I always enjoy your videos, would your PLEASE visit one of the owl cafes that I have recently discovered online, I would love to see your take on them, I think it would be a very fun video.
Oh ma gawd...Stephanie and Shizuka collab with my fav alcoholic friend...GIN! 🍸 No guarantee I will be on my best behavior by the end of the tour..I may get kicked out of the distillery. 😅
All that original gin making made Shizuka blush in the cheeks and forehead towards the end of the video while her guest Stephanie was flashing only on her left side. Perhaps their charming English-speaking host also had a small part in causing that reaction which is perfectly understandable ;).
Looks like fun, but I’d really like to see an episode on how Japanese Whisky differs from Scotch, and what makes Japanese labels unique and Japanese. Now separate question - what’s with Stephanie’s nails - they look sharpened and extremely weapon-like. Are those things street-legal?
@@JapanbyFood Glad to know that Stephanie is prepared. Ok - two more suggestions: First, the Shōgun re-make premieres tonight (it’s streaming already), and it’s being called a masterpiece. It’s going to be very popular. A series of episodes showing food related locations from the series would be terrific. Second, baseball season is starting. Would love to see an episode or a series of episodes on different goods at different ballparks, and how they all differ from American ballpark food. Given the Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s recent high profile signings and the related interest in Japanese baseball, I’ll bet that episodes about this would be very popular. Love the channel, and think that Shizuka is terrific!
I absolutely love the lightheartedness of these videos, Shizuka & Stephanie are awesome! :)
Glad you like them!

The best time to visit!
Great video with great hosts!! Japan by Food deserves more attention!
Thank you for saying that!
Great episode, 2 fantastic hosts, and an incredible journey into the world of gin. Yes I’m a big fan of a good gin.

As an Aussie YES!! 😊
@@nelsonhu3926 nice!👍
Shizuka: This three year bender is getting out of hand. I need a beer to wind down from the gin and rethink what cocktail to introduce next.
Can't stop now!

Please try!
Shizukaaaaaaa
Great video
OMS, you’re back!!
always here! O:)
Your always living the dream
True!
Wait you have a store? How did I not see that!
We do!
What do they use to make their neutral spirit? Potato, wheat? Those concrete ageing tanks are used in Georgian winemaking.
We gotta double check with them!

Distilled for the eradication of seeming incurable sadness.
This was great!
Thanks a lot!
For merch they should make a shirt with Shizuka saying "Sugoi !!!"
On it!
Beautiful 😍❤️😻🤩❣️💗🥰
Thank you!
Soo when are we officially opening a place called S2 Bakery, where you can have Gin and desert?
Hmmmm, we gotta make that happen!
Very good video, I really enjoyed it. Does Stephanie have a youtube channel?
I'm looking forward to the next video.
We added her socials in the description:)
I would not have left without a couple bottles!
Same!
Never had cheese with honey before, gotta try that.
It is the best!

Man, it looks cold there
Just a bit:)
how... how to be as happy as the hosts 24/7? Is gin the answer?
Maybe:P
Water is tasteless
Arrowhead: hold my bottle
I don't know what's more distracting: 2 beautiful hosts, or the great white scenery I miss so much....
All of it!
🎉
yay!
Finally first to view!!!
Congrats!
