Do you think a school of fish know somewhere they are making ghost's in a smoke room above water boo smoker tuna. neater. lol. edit: tune in for more bonito facts. lol
Thank you for showing this part of Japan my mother was from this area and she would talk about it and possibly being able to go back and see it , but sadly she had pasted away years ago and I was very young but this brought back memories of her talking about it. Thank you !
I’m from Makurazaki! This is my home! Tosenkyo🥰 So glad that someone finally made a great video about Kagoshima(that I know of)❤And of course it’s you guys! I’m also a ByFood affiliate. This is wild🙌❤️ありがとうございます🙇🏻♀️👏
I particularly appreciate these videos that highlight places off the beaten path like Kagoshima. Another banger vid guys! I reckon you could throw a dart 🎯 at a map of Japan, travel to wherever it landed and find yourself in a city or town with a unique charm worth a visit! P.S. Shizuka rockin the stylish outfit ❤️
We went to Ibusuki a few years back and loved the sunamushi! I wish I knew about the other places to visit though. Sometimes hard to hard things in the smaller places but I can always go back!
We get it! It can be quite difficult to find places to visit in the countryside and even more difficult to get to them but it is always worth it! We totally loved exploring the calm countryside! Hope you will visit soon again!
We went at the beginning of last year, but I’ve only just seen this video. Hot sands were fantastic (with a really cool sight seeing train from Kagoshima city) but we struggled a bit to find anything else to do locally. We will go back at some point and try these suggestions!
One off my favorite place in Japan. We try to go there whenever we can. After being there several times I can't get enough of it. Ibusuki onsen and the other things from the video are just some of the original aspects of Kagoshima you can find only here. I must add the Jumbo Mochi the Kurobuta pork and the place where you can find the Shiro Kuma shop exactly in Kagoshima city where they serve the biggest shaved ice in Japan with countless toppings. Kagoshima city has free dolphin show almost every day and the view of the volcano is priceless. The weather is very mild during the fall and winter and no so many foreigners actually are visiting the area so it's kind of magical. There are other unique things but I have spoiled enough. Lol
Man, I am so glad my bro sent me links to this channel. They get better and more interesting all the time. I'm from Canada too! British Columbia. You flow between worlds well in a good way. Thank you!
I didn't know how hard it is before you get the finished product of the bonito flakes, amazing to see, the onsen adventures looked like fun, I liked it when it got hot and looks so satisfying to get the refreshing foods
My wife and I love watching your videos, especially the food. We have to make sure we don’t watch before bedtime 🙂 cause we get crazy hungry. Totemo oishi desu. Doomo Arigato from Newport Beach California
Just returned from a trip to SE Asia. There was a BOILING hot spring in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It was so hot there were warning signs posted on ropes five feet away from the edge warning not to place any body parts into the water! Employees were boiling eggs for sale in long-handled baskets. You could choose 1 minute or 2 minute eggs. Interestingly, there was no safety grid/net over the water...just the signs.
Ibusuki is great - it's kind of a forlorn and nostalgic tourist town, maybe already a bit past its prime days of former glory - at least that's the Impression I got in the off-season. Getting out of the sand sauna and ridding yourself of all that surprisingly heavy wet sand feels like being reborn! Would highly recommend strolling to Chiringashima at low tide, or enjoying the view up from Uomidake. And if you wanna go for a sidetrip, the Kagoshima flower park is nice, and while I didn't make it all that way, Cape Nagasakibana and the Ryugu shrine are two more POI around the corner.
I thought when shizuka had the sand bath she had to me nekid *gasp* the ratings would have doubled nice to still see some warm days in japan, nice work team.🍻
Hey Shizuka, consider spending more time in your sandbag, because you sound so relaxed and chill! How about some crossover episodes like 'Japan by Food meets Spas & Saunas'? I hope you appreciate my suggestion and give me some extra XP points (I deserve them)! ☃☃😉😉
The Kagoshima prefecture looks fun and entertaining! But I was so worried when you were buried in the sand Shizuka! Hopefully you did not burn your back. 😅
Question: Why use biologics or expensive bone substitutes when you can harvest autologous cancellous bone (aka the "gold standard) through a straight-forward percutaneous approach?
Do you have a sister in Toronto? I have this coworker that i always think look like you. Now that i know you are from Canada. It's possible that she really is your sis. Haha
Looks like we now have visible proof Shizuka is the hottest TV presenter in Japan because apparently even when standing in a freezer full of katsuobushi at minus 50 dressed in summer clothing, she laughs away the cold creating a geothermal incident of her own as her incredible body temperature starts to cook the tuna and the fire department are called in to hose her down!

Hello Japan by Food!!! 😍🖤🥰🍻🍺
Shizuka's Canadian Heritage in Full Action at -50°C!!! I would have died in that Fridge.
She could stay longer than the rest of the team!
She looked like she was enjoying herself in there too 😀
Shizuka is so much fun and the experience she brings us every week is very enjoyable.
More to come!

Been to Japan so many times and this is my new destination in 2024
Cool! I'm from Kagoshima, originally. Thanks for promoting my hometown.
So happy we could visit!

Amazing idea! We might actually try to just throw a dart and see where we should visit next!

We wanted to visit the Shiro Kuma shop too! Had no time unfortunately TT We gotta go back!
Yay!!! I would eat spmen & inari sushi with Shizuka Anderson 😊 It looks refreshing & delicious!!!
It tasted the best! Especially in the heat ^^

Thank you for always being healthy😊

Very unique noodle presentation! And now I know more about the bonito flakes! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
地元が紹介されてる…嬉しい!
I'm glad the Japanese invented bonito flakes. They're just sooo good on takoyaki!! I cant have enough of them... I usually want more 😂 lol
Take care and have a wonderful week!✨
Thank you! You too!

Wow, the trust they had in people :O
Shizuka, you didn't convince anyone you enjoyed that sand bath! My claustrophobia could never 😂
Awesome video. I love watching ur videos. So informative
Glad you like them!
The sand bath was cool!
Super cool!
that thumbnail lol shizuka "sanderson" amirite heh
Koichi san spinning the towel in the -30C cold room with a Hawaiian t-shirt is the absolute highlight for this video, LOL
Fun fact : Here in Hawaii no one calls them Hawaiian shirts. We call them aloha shirts
Koichi-san was just a bunch of warm and peaceful energy! Loved him!
Awesome content Japan By Food.👏👏👏
Thank you 😋
Love this video. What are the address of the steam cooking? Thanks.
Shizuka is the best
Another sugoi video. Arigato danke🩵🙏🏻

It did have a retro vibe! But we enjoyed for that very reason! Next time, we hope to explore even more!
yes
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm glad you didn't lose any toes to frostbite
wow very nice experience friend
Thank you!
you're welcome@@JapanbyFood

:P
Thumbnail looks like you're having a good time, but then you got your head severed lol
Just a head having fun!
Very interesting😊
Glad you think so!
タケノコ is bamboo shoot, not mushroom. But a fairly cheerful and energetic host 😄
the guy lowkey roasted you at 4:04 lmao
:O Koichi-san wouldn't TT
No matter what she's wearing she's dressed appropriately. ♥
Shizukaaaaaaa

I must have extra bonito flakes in my takoyaki and okonomiyaki 😋😋
Please do!
This is why Japanese cuisine is the best in the world… 6 months of processes just to get a delicious garnish and base for foods with bonito flakes!!
Right? They take it to a whole new level!
The Kagoshima prefecture looks fun and entertaining! But I was so worried when you were buried in the sand Shizuka! Hopefully you did not burn your back. 😅
It was quite hot but fortunately not uncomfortable!
Shizuka finally loses her head or was it her body ? 😂
Great vlog as always but was this the one that made u sick ?
Shizuka-san, it says タケノコ at 10:00 instead of キノコ, so maybe you could have cooked mushrooms but not bamboo shoots?
We noticed too late :P
Oh my gosh, you’re totally right!! 😭 Sometimes my brain doesn’t work 😅😅
Question: Why use biologics or expensive bone substitutes when you can harvest autologous cancellous bone (aka the "gold standard) through a straight-forward percutaneous approach?
The noodle place looks like where the elf lords of Rivendell might feast
We see that!
既に食されたかもですが、鹿児島といえばやはり黒豚ですね。
“❤” 😇
😍😍😍
It's Hoenn Region in Pokemon!!

Shizuka's going to be having high blood pressure when she's old and cranky.
Ooo mami is right…
Smoke for one month. That’s quality
I need to correct you that タケノコ is NOT MUSHROOM.
It is a bamboo shoot.
The sign for the steaming said No Meat, No Fish, No Bamboo Shoot.
Only have one problem with this video it was to short 😢
We are happy to hear that!
Yum yum yum!
The best!
最近マナーが悪い海外の人が多い。実害があったし勘弁してほしい
is the sand bath good for one’s ice-cold soul? asking for a friend 😂
It should;)
