That’s my old car! I don’t have any experience with the VRP kit, but my old weistec kit was easy to modify, and should be turn key. As far as I know, it was a very early kit, and I actually had the intercooler brick develop a pinhole on me. When I replaced the brick, the new Weistec intercooler brick didn’t fit without lots of grinding because it was much larger. Also, the car is using Thermalnator intake gaskets and has a 4” intake tube, not 3.5”. It has 2 walbro 450’s in the tank and -8an from the pumps to the engine, and uses the factory feed line as the return. There was so much fuel, that we couldn’t use the rising rate fuel regulator. Curious to see how it compares to the VRP kit on the Dyno. Although I’m sure my car has a few more big power upgrades and is running more boost than Alex’s car. See my channel to watch how it did on a Dynocom Dyno in Maryland. The car also went 10.7 in the 1/4 mile on a hot July night with no meth!
I never owned a supercharged car, only turbo ones. Turbo's develop a great deal on lag and reliability and are easy to upgrade. But I definitely see the charm of a supercharger, the wine and instant power! Maybe some day. Definitely never go back to NA. Another great video OJ!
Just doing the split cooling makes a huge difference on these engines, while my engine cooling system gets hot, my split cooling system only gets slightly warm, can actually put my finger in the coolant and it's comfortably warm I'd suggest anyone who has a m113k too get split cooling with extra rad, even on stock sc pulley
This is really a must if you are into performance. The only con is slightly increased warmup time concerning emissions levels, but that not on anyone’s minds!
Im just on the tail end of a 9.0L build on my Viper. Once im all done with that, im thinking about a new boosty screw setup on my CLS 55 AMG. Still not 100% sure what kit I'm going with. all i can say is that IATs are high with a small pulley on the OEM charger.
Another great video OJ. Might want to rethink that gold layer on the intake pipe I saw in the video. According to testing from Engine Masters; good absorbs heat. That would make that a heat grabbing or warm air intake. Yikes
I'm using the ESS Whipple 2.9 kit for the M156. None of these kits have adequate cooling capacity. Kinkaid killer chiller is essential. I'm extremely happy with how it works.
How bout 5.0l power adders? Anything worth buying? Has anyone swapped the the 5.5 into a 4matic chassis, or 4matic into a e55? Would the awd hold up to the extra power?
