Never actually seen a real waterfall except on video or movies. Saw a tiny sorta waterfall at falling creek falls in Florida...it's about maybe 10ft high
Absolutely!! Which is why I love being able to explore these pieces of nature... we have seen so many amazing falls in the lifetime of the channel but the journey there and the beauty of being there in the moment are worth doing it more and more each time with each new fall
It was pretty wet when we were there so we didn't get to fully explore because of more limited parking in some of the areas... but i will be back to see even more
Such a beautiful place. Definitely worth all of the hassle we had at the beginning of the trip just to find this area. There are also a few other falls, but they are harder to get to or have limited parking, but this was perfect and we had all to ourselves.
The Dynamic Duo (and Tyson).. In the heat of summer, I would absolutely relish sitting in the pool under the waterfall. Still too cool here in NE Ohio. Enjoy & Be well.
This one would be a great one to be able to potentially dip your toe in. It was a little harder to get down to the base of it and when we were there, it was pretty slick because it had recently rained so we didn’t want to risk it.
Loved being able to enjoy all the rocks and scampering around enjoying them fully with every view a new thing to see... so many awesome falls in this area but this is certainly one of the easier ones and with better parking than some
I’m super glad that I could share this one with you. There are a couple more out there but because of recent rains, it made it a little bit harder to get to them.
So glad you have enjoyed both the pros and cons of travel!!! So glad to be able to share them with everyone.. well worth it to explore this area specifically!!
Calming video. When we see places like this, we have the kids so we still hear the sounds of the children seeing it through your perspective is very different. Makes this a video that the adults can enjoy a little bit.
I love a good waterfall.... in fact we went on a little bit of a waterfall journey on this trip.. looking for as many as we could because they are so beautiful and peaceful
Did you make plans to see the glowworms at Dismals (outside of PhilCampbell, just about a half hour from Bankhead.) It's early but not by much. Idk if you can see them at Bankhead, but I do know that people often do both (Bankhead and Dismals) when they're vacationing. Which won't matter if you've moved on already, but if you're still close, or if you want to plan for a later trip, they're worth seeing.
We did not, finding camping was tough so we opted to wait it out, they mentioned when we visited it wasn't the best time for it as we do post on a bit of a delay here. I will be going back in the future and have spoken to someone there about optimum times to visit.
Question of the Day: What is your favorite waterfall to see?
I have only ever seen Niagara Falls
My favorite Waterfall so far was on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia….
Hmmm I think some are the ones in Canada but I don’t know the names of them.

The Bankhead Forest is known as the land of 1,000 waterfalls. I've been to quite a few of them. Bankhead Forest is my happy place.
