    Watches a Jamaican coworker eating the hell out of some home made sardines at work yesterday and I had to have some. As a seafood lover never had fresh sardines but the one in the can. As she ate I couldn't believe it didn't have that strong smell that the ones in the can have. At he farmers market picking up some fresh sardines and using your recipe.👌

    Aloha Chris, Great looking recipe, thank you for sharing. Here in Hawai'i we love to crunch these up bones, head, sometimes even the innards. Whole sardines, smelts, and locally caught oama (juvenile goatfish) we deep-fry them all until crispy. I like to dip them in sauce made from combining shoyu (Japanese soy sauce), lemon juice, and chili peppers.

      I assumed a smelt would be like a sardine. I bought them and tried to broil them and they were awful.

    In Greece we also use to cook sardines in the same way. Sardines and ouzo. Delisious.

    • @coolL9457
      @coolL9457 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ouzo is disgusting. it tastes like vodka and bubblegum... 2 things that shouldnt be mixed ever

    • @kultigin
      @kultigin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have no idea. We do the same in Turkey with raki, which is pretty much ouzo. Raki and fish is like salt and pepper, not vodtka and bubble gum.

    you can eat the whole fish, bone and all since it's been hard fried. They will just be crunchy. cut off the head and tails if you're squeamish.

    Every thing is perfect 👍👍👍👍
    Except the frying oil
    Vegetables oils are very very inflammatory oils even if its organic
    The best oils to deep fry and healthier Tallow or Lard or avocado oil or olive oil if you can afford the extra virgin olive oil cold-pressed organic
    recent study suggested that nothing will be happening to Extra Virgin Olive oil if it's high-quality

    • @creativegirl9710
      @creativegirl9710 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree! Coconut oil would work. And the white flour/gluten is horrible. I use pork rind crumbs for my chicken fingers and liver nuggets, etc. Cassava flour or coconut flour or almond flour might work here.
