I loved seeing that painting so I'm glad I finally got to hear the true story behind Margaret's work. I'm so glad she stood up for herself 💕 She's a genius!
When I was a kid back in the '60s we knew a lot of people that had them and we had one of the prints also . It was of a skinny little black and white tabby cat with those big sad eyes

There was a painting “showdown” set up at Union Square in San Francisco.It was publicized, reporters present, etc. Walter was a “no-show”. I don’t believe that was shown in the movie. Years after this appearance on Mike Douglas Show there was a court case (in 1986) to decide who really was the artist. The judge gave both of them an allotted time to produce a painting in open court. Margaret finished hers in just under an hour. Walter produced nothing at all. He claims to have shoulder issues from injury or bursitis etc. Based on that the judge determined that Margaret was the actual artist of the artwork. That was shown in the movie.
I have a drawing by Margaret kane that I found at a second hand store that I love, and the little ballerinas in the drawing look like your work. Would this be yours? You can look right through them.

I’m taking my soon to be husband’s last name because I am proud to be with him, and we want to have children. It’s 100% my choice and I choose to share a last name with him because I see it as an honor.
