    What an amazing woman/artist. That con man targeted her, stifled her for all those years, to have someone just take your personal expression to anyone, never mind someone so obviously sweet and innocent being held prisoner by lies like that watching that scumbag bask in her well deserved glory and it didn't seem to make her bitter or jaded, what an incredible person. I think the story of her painting while a prisoner of lies will make her art extremely sought after for eons to come, I hope so she deserves it

    She reminds me of the phrase, _faint as a Will-o'-the-wisp_
    My sister in law has the exact same way of speaking

      He says "he looks like one of your subjects, doesn't he?" Even if he had used the word "selfie," it wouldn't make any sense in the context of that statement.

    When u shake peoples hand, if you are sitting down, you are supposed to stand up. I learned that's good manners. Shirley Temple surely was a beautiful woman though.

      +Ray Magliacano Shirley Temple may not have been in a position to stand up as she underwent surgery for breast cancer that year.

      Women didn't stand up when greeting then, only men

    • @pennykent5687
      @pennykent5687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I thought the same, that Shirley should have stood up and shook hands.... But then I recalled that there if different etiquette for men and for women... Perhaps she was right not to stand. In any case, I wish not to cause trouble.... Just saying I was suddenly struck a little funny and unsure of the situation...🤷‍♀️🤝

    • @pennykent5687
      @pennykent5687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maryjennings4277 She was up walking around.... But, I'm still thinking maybe it's right that women remain sitting when introduced to another person....? I think that is proper?
      But as I continued to watch there were things about Shirleys behaviors that I found myself making to many excuses for... I really don't believe she was very happy here, she seem to feign pleasure in receiving the portrait.
      I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt....

    I've never seen this one interview of her here nor even anywhere else, had grown up during this era, my father truly hated talk show hosts like Mike Douglas, Johhny Carson, et al., but just surprised to see, here, that she actually names a few of her works, yet whoever uploaded didn't even think of also uploading a quick snippet, photo, shot of any of the (said) works....I mean, talk about relishing upon a great artist, kind of immortalizing here here, yet, no one is able to even get a quick glimpse of these works, so that, I would think, they could later go out and purchase, buy them...in that, in the end, her estate just gets bigger and bigger, and we all get more enlivened, engrossed, etc., w/her, her works, her history.....
    🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
    Okay, I had spoken too early about him not showcasing some actual works of hers here, but only because I had started writing all of this before I had even finished watching, viewing, this entire video...oops, oh well...
    🤔🤣🤩😉😆😗🙄

    Assisti o filme hoje. O filme é maravilhoso. Estou comovida de como as Testemunhas de Jeová encontrou essa mulher. Foi Jeová que mandou aquelas senhoras naquele ligar.Interesante que o caso tornou se matéria da Despertai em inglês na época.

    I used to collect Shirley Temple stuff as a 10 year old. I had the cover of a movie magazine from 1933 with Shirley that looked amazingly like the sketch Margaret gave her. It was hand painted.
    Also, when I was singing outside her gallery in Maiden Lane SF, someone told me she was sketching me. I was totally not interested as I didn't like the big eyes. Now at age 82, I wish I had taken a look since I was young and very pretty. Ah well. Glad Margaret got rid of Walter and I'm sure she got a good $$settlement. Lots of women went through stuff like that in the 1950's.
