When you audition for Hells Kitchen, the producers ask you to list 3 different dish recipes that you’d potentially make for your signature dish. If you make it on the show, they pick 1 of those 3 dishes that you submitted and that’s what you have to make. I love that for 1 of his signature dishes that he submitted, O’Shay was thinking, “You know what I think Gordon would love? He’s gonna love my Salmon garnished with collard greens soaked in orange soda.”
Vlad in a podcast with Alex said he made the dish for this challenge as he was scared of being called out for simplicity. I guess he did the right thing
Thought Vlad was gonna fall to pieces from the way he was talking himself up there, especially with the $255 price tag on his dish, but then Gordon said he'd have it for $230 himself, so like...fair play Vlad. If you can walk the walk, by all means talk the talk.
For those curious, before this current season. This season held the record for the best combined score for signature dishes with 62 points. The original record holder was 59 from S14 where the blue team won 31-28

@joeyterps7575 except that it messes up people's perception of food so that they think the norm is to pay a ridiculous amount for basically nothing. Then more restaurants like that open up and it just makes the problem worse.
There are restaurants in Las Vegas where the chefs cook small portions of food, the customers pay a lot of money for them, and the chefs secretly laugh at you, and call you an idiot for paying so much for small portions. 🤣
