    First time I have watched one of your videos, full of great information that I needed right now as I try diving into figuring out my colours and making a capsule wardrobe - thanks! And.. you remind me of actress Ali Larter but with brown hair.. ( showing my 40-something age lol). Will watch more of your content 👍

    I don't know why exactly, but this video has just sparked the type of inspo I needed to figure out how I wanna organize my wardrobe. Thanks!
    I really always struggled with picking just a few colors, I always just got what was available at a specific season in a color I though suited me. Creating color schemes is a lot of fun, but I can never stick to them. So creating a repeating rainbow on one side (sorted by length and within one length range sorted by color) and sorting my neutrals on the other side by length and depth sounds really nice to me. That way getting dressed would be even easier because I can then just go to one side, pick the color I wanna wear, pick the type of clothing I wanna wear and see if I wanna combine another color with it or just go all neutral for the rest and could easily go by "Oh I need a light neutral cardigan", and go get it. It would also help in spacing out the clothes. At the moment I keep heavier jackets in one side of my wardrobe and everything else that needs to be hanged in the other side and that doesn't really do the trick for me. I also just realized that I do have empty storage boxes under the bed in which I could easily store the winter jackets and the more autumnal pieces and just take out what I need that season and hang it on the coat check that's next to our entry way. I tend to choose only two jackets for each year anyways (one for very cold days and another for slightly warmer weather) so there would be plenty of space for that.
    I can't believe it right now. I've watched so many videos about closet organisation and couldn't figure it out for myself. Now watching this video with a totally different topic and it just clicked. And it feels so simple that I can't believe I just figured that out right now and not sooner... well, overcomplicating things often doesn't lead to a great result, right? 😅

      I'm so glad that you got that spark of inspiration! I often find that I have a similar experience - sometimes taking inspiration from adjacent topics is a great way to get new ideas 🥰 Have you reorganized your closet? Is it working for you so far?

    My natural coloring is cool undertone. My hair used to be a medium to dark ash brown. Eyes are a light, but not icy gray. And skin tone is fair/light. I've been slowly going gray (14 years now) so my previously ash brown hair is often perceived as a light brown/dark blonde. Color advice is usually that I should step down from my more "winter" season to "summer", but I don't like the muted colors and still get the most compliments when I wear dark/bright colors like cobalt blue and fucshia. How would you suggest formulating my secondary colors? My best base colors are navy, pink, and green.

    • @alyssarudman
      @alyssarudman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would definitely recommend going with the dark and bright colors that you love wearing and get the most compliments on! Cobalt blue and fuchsia would pair beautifully with your navy, pink, and green base in my opinion. Since you have lighter hair and eyes, I would be careful about wearing too much black near your face. If you like the way it looks, go for it! But a charcoal gray would probably be a better option for you based on your comment. I'd love to create a color palette example video for you! How would you describe your style?

      @@alyssarudman my style is very classic and simple. Button down shirts, dark wash jeans, sweaters, tees with nice details. Basically comfortable but well structured fabrics and pieces. I have a smaller capsule wardrobe I'm slowly refining.

    I have a skin tone that has pink/red undertones and tends to tan easily. My hair is dark golden blonde, and my eyes are dark gray-blue, but with some gold flecks around the pupils.
    Am I warm or cool? I like a lot of greens and blues, but can also wear some warmer tones (red-purple).

    • @alyssarudman
      @alyssarudman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It sounds like you may be close to neutral with a slight tendency toward a warm undertone. What do you think?

    • @hannahkarel
      @hannahkarel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alyssarudman maybe? I know that orange and caramel don’t look good on me, but other warmish colors do, so it is hard to find a season

    • @alyssarudman
      @alyssarudman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hannahkarel If you are close to neutral, perhaps orange and caramel are too warm for you. I agree that the traditional color seasons can be confusing and difficult to fit within. You should definitely build your color palette around the colors that you enjoy wearing first and foremost
