I had a woman complain about me saying I intimidated her and acting strangely. The manager thought it was out of character for me so he called her to get more information. She questioned why I was hanging around the forecourt? I was a petrol station attendant. And how did I intimidate her? Did I threaten her? Unwanted advances? Act aggressive? No, its cause I have a beard.
In my current job, we're closed at night and we get complaints saying 'I came to fill up, the guy wouldn't let me in the shop and told me to leave'. My manager loves these and takes no punches. 'So let me get this straight: So you were trespassing, tried to force entry, refused to leave, drove the wrong side of a traffic island, went on the wrong side of the road, through a no entry sign and drove down the wrong way down a one way road to a station that had no lights on, the pumps were off, the shutters were down and doors were locked? FYI, we have it in HD. So what you are complaining about again?

Here's a short one. A different old woman got angry at me for counting the coins she had to make sure she had the correct amount. She wanted to trade the coins in for a $20 bill. She told me it was $20 but because it was a bunch of coins I had to count them. I counted them and gave her the bill, and she complained "I would have been gone by now." And I told her "I'm just doing my job." I have to count it because in case she miscounted, she would have gotten to have more or less money.

I have multiple stories. The dumbest one I can think of is this one time I had mistaken two soda cans as the same drink, and put in two of them. I said "oops, I thought they were the same." And voided it, so I can scan both individually. He said "it doesn't matter, they cost the same." But only after I had done it. He had been repeating that multiple times, and I'd tell him "well it doesn't matter now, it's too late." I can't tell for sure but It really sounded like he was complaining.
There was also this other time where he was buying again, but this time someone called on the phone, There is a phone next to the cash register, and I answered it. After the call, he said to me "you know you don't have to answer the phone right? You can let the manager answer the phone, and you're not the manager." Like bro shut up and let me do my job.

I used to work in a bakery department. Here are my top four favourite customer complaints:
A man came up to the bakery counter and complained that the little brown plastic bunny ring we put on a cupcake looked like chocolate and someone could choke making the same mistake he did when he put it in his mouth. It was really hard not to comment that most people can feel the difference between chocolate and plastic the second they touch it.
A couple came up to me and started yelling at me that they could find bulk lemons and how they didn't want a bag of lemons, they just wanted one. Meanwhile, I was staring at the bulk lemons over their shoulder the entire time.
A man came up to me at 9pm (store closed at 11pm) and wanted a fresh loaf of french bread. When I told him that the french bread was fresh from that morning, he demanded that I make him a fresh one. He stormed off to the closing manager when I refused. Closing manager told him that if he wanted french bread, he could either buy one of the loaves we had made that morning or come back the following morning. Dude left without buying any.
A lady had ordered a full slab cake (16x24") and had been VERY let's say... particular about how she wanted the cake to look. When she came to pick it up, I brought it out and she pitched a fit that it didn't look exactly how she wanted it to and demanded a discount. I told her that she wasn't getting a discount. She then demanded that I carry it to the till for her (she was only here for the cake) and I pointed out where she could get a cart and that I would put it in the shopping cart for her but under no circumstance would I carry the cake for her. When she demanded to speak to the manager, I got the immense pleasure of telling her that *I* was the manager. She said that she was going to complain to head office but I never heard a word about it.

I used to work at Petco for about 3 years. During my first year working there, i had a Karen come in and start yelling at me to refund her dog food and saying its my fault for selling her dog food that CHANGED THEIR RECIPE, and i should have warned her that the ingredients had changed, expecting me to memorize every single dog food ingredient and to know what the vendor does. Lady, that is not my problem, and you should complain to the vendor, not the retailer.

I was working at a burger place, man orders a burger with everything, but extra extra mushrooms, he absolutely loves mushrooms. I let him know that we can give him as much mushrooms as he wants on the side, but due to being able to wrap it, I'll only be able to put one extra scoop on the sandwich. He said that's fine. I gave him his burger and a side of mushrooms. He ate the entire side of mushrooms, then all but the last 2 bites of the burger, then comes up in a panic. ARE THESE MUSHROOMS!? Uh... Ya? He screams, "im allergic to mushrooms and I don't have an epi-pen! What are you going to do for me!?" I can call an ambulance. "No I mean I want a refund! How dumb are you!?" I mean you can get a refund, but I'm more worried you get the care you need first. He flipped me off, "forget about it, you'll hear from my lawyer, I'm going to the hospital." I never heard from his lawyer

Here's another story. It's not being able to use the staff only bathroom.
About over a week ago, there was a line in the afternoon, and I walked over to where we serve slushees because a customer had bought one, and saw her with two little kids outside the bathroom door. I thought it was weird because customers aren't allowed in the bathroom. I decided to radio my boss about it later after finishing up with the line in front. After that, I went to the old lady and told her that customers aren't allowed to use the bathroom, and it's not for public use. She told me that she had asked asked to use it. Me, thinking it was an excuse, left the area and radio'd my boss to ask if the old lady had asked to use the bathroom. She told me no, and the bathroom is not for public use. So i went back to the old lady and told her that my boss said the bathroom is not for public use. She got angry and said "you're just going to let these kids pee themselves?" And also told me "go take a shower." Which is funny because I did take one during my lunch break. She also complained "the store belongs to us" and "we should be able to use the bathroom." I told her "this is a convenience store, and no this shop does not belong to you." She replied "yeah, it belongs to the people of [name of small town]." I would have replied "you don't own this town, or this store. This store doesn't belong to the town, it's here for the town." But she had left the area to continue shopping. While she was gone, I was thinking of how to respond, and when she came to the cash register I told her "If you have any problems, take it up with the manager, and not me. All I'm doing is my job, and nothing else." And she basically told me that she didn't care and said "I should wait outside until the store closes and kick you in the [nuts]." She just threatened me and so I went to the office, sat down and asked my boss to serve her at the cash register.

    Here's another.
So what happend was there was this box the customer had picked up and asked if it had a discount. I Said "Sorry, I'm not the one who put it up, so I'm not sure" (Logically thinking, in a convenience store, whoever put the item onto the shelf would have also put discount stickers onto the box.) He said "well I didn't ask if you put it on the shelf, buddy." So then I shrugged and said "I can ask the manager for you." And I went and did that, my boss said there's no discount, because the only thing wrong with the item is the box. The content inside the box is still 100% good. I then returned to the cash register and said "no, there is no discount." And he said "oh, can you replace the box?" And I said "well, why didn't you just get a good box in the first place?" And went to replace the box. (Which now that I think about it, this isn't a job of a cashier, and I think it's the customer's responsibility to replace the item that they picked up and want replaced.) Anyways, once I returned with a good box, he was upset with me. He said I gave him attitude (or something similar), and he said I probably have no dad. I said "Geeze." And he kept mumbling to himself (or his wife who he stood next to) while I scanned their items. His wife then paid $100 and let his father in law, a really nice old man named Ralph pay for the rest of it which is a little over $300, and left. After a while, and a few customers later. He calls the store. I answer the phone. "Hello, this is (Small town local store), how can I help you?" And he responds, "I would like to talk to the manager about some asshole who works there." "Go ahead." I say in a exaggerated happy tone, and put him on hold. I told my boss about the call and said I can tell her about what happened after she talks to him, and after I finish helping the customer I had left at the register. After a while, he calls again. (This is after he was delt with by my boss.) And he says "my daughter died of cancer, that's no reason for you to be an asshole."
I can't remember whether or not I put him on hold or hung up, but after a while he calls again. This is after I told my co-workers about what happened, and I told him to answer and see if its him. It was. As I didn't answer the phone, I don't know what he said, but according to my co-worker, he said something along the lines of "I'm sorry your grandma gave my mother a stroke" or something similar to that. My co-worker ended the phone call. And a while later he calls again. He just says "manager." So I put him on hold. I decided not to tell my boss about it so he'd on hold for a while. But then he calls a while later with a different phone on line 2. He says something about "did you tell your boss about (person)'s stroke?" I didn't answer, I just put him on hold once again. He's been on hold for a while on both lines. I don't remember what else happened, but appearantly what he said to my boss was "how can you employ someone who supports (my grandma)?" Anyways, him and his wife are banned for 2 weeks from the store. Appearantly, his wife also said some bad stuff to my boss over the phone. I just feel bad for the nice old man he lives with. The nice old man is my favorite customer, because he's nice and he just gives nice person energy. He also likes to try doing a trick when picking up a receipt with the pen he signs it with. This just means that he has to shop for them for two weeks.

Here in New Zealand people often misquote that we have three official languages, but we only have two. New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and Te Reo Māori (the indigenous language) are the only official languages by law. The Māori Language Act 1987 and 2016 and the NZSL Act 2006 mark these as the official languages of New Zealand. English is the common language that is spoken by the majority of the people and is used in parliament.

I worked at Taco Bell, a woman once came in asking if she could get a 12 pack of tacos, but she wanted them disassembled meat, cheese, lettuce and tortillas in containers because her 3 year old son “likes putting them together” ma’am this Taco Bell in is a shopping center with 3 grocery stores. Go, buy a taco kit and do it at home I don’t care how much your crotch goblin likes putting his tacos together. I asked my manager if it was alright because some “crazy mom who thinks her kid walks on water wants a taco kit but doesn’t wanna make one” he sighed said just this one time. I did the order and told the kitchen staff. As she was paying she got snarky with me and told me I should wait until they leave or be quiet about insulting the customers. I laughed in her face and said okay. I was such a popular cashier one complaint wasn’t going to even get me talked to, I had people stop going to the drive through to come in and see me just because I was so good at my job and talkative. Crazy people come in all the time so one complaint wasn’t going to even get me a talking to.

I was a hostess at a japanese restaurant (i already posted but im posting another story) I had a lady come in at 7. Her reservation was 7:15. at 7:15 she came up to the stand and stood there silently giving me an angry look.
When I asked her if she had a question she said “It’s 7:15. Where is my table.”
I had to apologize and say that our dining room was full right now (it was new year’s eve)
She then said “Well I have a reservation.”
So I said “Even though you have a reservation. There are no tables empty.”
So she proceeded to walk into the dining room and said “This table is empty.”
So at this point me being fed up said “You’re so right ma’am. I’ll seat you right away.”
So I sat them. Their table was incredibly dirty with rice all over it and their seats were soaking wet with bleach. Her pants were bleached and she complained that her table was dirty and her seat was wet. She wanted to see my manager.
So I brought my manager out after telling her what happened and all she said was. “oh well. that’s what happens if you’re not patient and if you disrespect my hostess.”
She still sat there and by the time she left, everyone’s asses were an orange color from the bleach. I’m not mad about it.

Funny enough, Subway got into a lawsuit a while back becuse their $5 footlong wasn't actually a foot long (12 in.). So Subway had to start measuring the footlongs so they were EXACTLY a foot long. And the thing is: the whole reason this all started is because people were complaining that their footlongs were 11 in. and not 12.

At the fancy department that I used to work at , we close and lock door entrance 4 hours before closing time because it was the doors that shoplifters preferred to use since it’s closest to the parking lot where they can get in a getaway car real fast. Every decent customers that would see the doors gated up/locked will us the next door exits which is a 10ft away to the same parking lot that the locked doors faces. But there was always those freaking annoying customers that would go to the nearest employee ((me)) to complain about it and wanting me to call someone to unlock the doors for them bcz they parked on that parking lot and the door was unlocked when they first came in and then file a complaint to corporate the next day to say that we close the store doors too early…idiot customers are way too Damm lazy to walk 8 steps to use the other doors that are opened and another 20 steps to get to their car 🤦🏻‍♀️

They exist so that you don't have to wait too long without eating anything, and they're intended to be shared with a group. If you buy an appetizer and you are by yourself, of course, your food will get to you quickly.
