My husband's grandad love word finds. He didn't know they made books full of them. One day while we were shopping I saw a book of like 500 word finds or something. It wasn't expensive or anything, but his true appreciation and excitement was one of the most beautiful moments in my life! I miss that man so much!
actually had a guy who was literally the same as ed, when we moved i saw this guy, jeff, standing outside trying to look into my bedroom window. Nobody believed me and told me i was just paranoid. he keeps this up so i can never have my window open and its so dark outside when he does it that all the photos i took were too grainy to see him. anyway fast forward a month and hes non stop bothering my mother, starts making gross comments like asking about her underwear and constantly trying to touch me. I give her a massive "no shit i told you so, who was paranoid again?"
he starts inviting himself into our property, im the only one not having his shit so when i opened the door to his face i slammed it on him and called my mother. she told him to never come into our property without an invitation. Now that my parents are listening to me they start noticing the creepy shit he does like literally always watching me and my mother in our house. we put up a massive fence like OP to stop him from watching us to his very loud complaints. we even called the police and gathered evidence and they told us to just get over it and move :)!
i remember seeing he had a lounge set up to just stare at our yard and would always stand right behind the fence we put up to listen and peek over.
He later kept trying to drag a puppy i adopted under the fence and kept yelling slurs at it and also made a very uncomfortable sexual comment about my fathers older female dog.
I also remember he sat behind the fence watching us when my mother died too. nothing was ever done about him. I moved away with my partner but my family is still next door to him. Cant stand these kinds of guys.
Ok another story, or more explanation ... First, in the states, killing a buzzard is a crime they all fall under the protected bird species act. But there is a belief if you are having problems with them in your yard (their poop and throw up can damage car paint, and house siding and they make huge bird poops, it can be a nightmare to clean up, so most people don't want them around) anyway, they say if you take the dead body of one and hang it up on your property they won't come around any more.
I had a couple where the wife would yell at the husband every morning at 7 am. They disappeared in the middle of the night and were replaced by a pregnant girl, and later the dad of the kid, then the kid. They were pretty normal, but up and moved essentially in the middle of the night too. Then came in a guy who made 45 noise complaints in 30 days, called the cops on a neighbor for grilling outside at 9 pm on a Friday night, would bang on the walls at 11 pm, then when confronted he started screaming and having a tantrum and called his dad and all he could say was "I'm leaving anyways I hate y'all". Found out later management told him he had to get out. I now have a lovely guy living there who plays guitar. This has been in almost three years, in the same unit.
Honestly I feel for the guy who sits in his car if he arrives at the same time as you he's probably just not a very social guy and thinks you're going to try and start a conversation with him
My neighbors suffers from Phantosmia and thinks we smoke weed in our apartment. Like normal people, we smoke outside. Dude literally said he smoked a cigarette in his bathroom to “prove” we were smoking weed in ours. 🤦🏼♀️ He’s also a 33 year old wannabe TH-camr who gets on average 30 views per video, won’t get a real job, and complains that his pregnant wife doesn’t have a job. She’s about to pop, they already have one son, and neighbor guy can’t even handle the son that’s not in the oven. It’s gonna be interesting watching him tell his baby mama she needs a job when they’re gonna have a newborn & almost 1yo.
The griller is likely showing off his wealth. It's been a thing in China for a while to buy more than you need and show pictures of all the extras or waste.
It's just so bizarre...why not cook and eat it? I hate when people waste perfectly good stuff for no reason.
I only have neighbors on the other side of the street, but they're meth dealers, two brothers. They're nice enough to my mother and I, so we just look the other way for the most part. The main guy is definitely bipolar and his girlfriend might be as well. At least ONCE every week they start arguing out in their yard, with her Screaming, normally something along the lines of "Get away from me! What do you want to do, hit me again?! Get away from me!" On repeat, at the top of her lungs. She could be a horror movie scream queen. After this for a while, she'll walk off down the street, he'll sometimes follow her for a bit or other times start throwing things, her belongings normally, out the door. Within two days, she is back and they're lovey dovey again. The other brother is a nice enough guy, kind of loopy but always ready to offer help if we need anything, like getting the lawnmower working for the year.
The BIG issue is the clientele. We have a river behind our house and they're regularly trying to come over and fish, leaving lines and hooks around and broken glass, but I feed the Canadian geese so I have to pick it up. My mother wanted to try growing a pot plant, pretty much just for fun and it was doing great and she was all proud of it. Someone came over one night and ripped the top half of it off. I was once IN MY YARD, next to my house, looking for crickets because I'm weird. It was nighttime and I had a flashlight. One of the male clients walked over, through my yard, in the dark, no light on and saying nothing, coming up on me. I noticed just before he reached me and shined my light in his eyes, "Who are you?!" "Are you Susan?" "No, and you're in my damn yard!" "Oh sorry." Then went back across the street, at which point I followed and yelled at the brothers, "If anyone approaches me in the dark like that, trespassing on my property, I will STAB them!" Supposedly the main brother broke his jaw for doing that but I don't know. There is always people coming and going, walking up and down the street, drugged out of their minds. They own quite a bit of property behind their house so they also put multiple trailers behind them and turned it into a mini methhood for their friends.
When meth is cooked or smoked lots of it ends up in the air. I wouldn't want to even be across the street from that! Usually meth houses have to be torn down because it's pretty much impossible to get it out of the walls and beams for the house to be deemed habitable. It's cheaper to tear it down and build a new one than try to clean the existing one. I'd also be calling the cops on the ones in the yard and creek and taking photos and videos. I'd feel so unsafe there!
@@Just1Nora I think they have the actual making set up waaaay back in the wooded area behind their houses/trailers, to hide it. Yesterday night he lost his mind though, he was on his roof with the cops all over, yelling for his girlfriend that he was just Convinced we had in our house for some reason?!?! Went from just before sunset til 1am before they got him down and now he's in a psyche hold. It's never a dull time. 😬

Not me, but a family member. I visited them and found out that one of their neighbors, an old woman, would wander around in the woods between the houses, whistling. She didn't whistle a tune, just a kind of off-kilter, out-of-tune random notes. She does this at all hours of the day and night, and sometimes close to neighbors' houses. So you'd wake up at like 3am with this creepy whistling outside your bedroom window.

Story 7 sounds like my bff's previous neighbor. He'd come outside every time they went out and one summer her husband bought a decent sized aboveground pool for the back yard. Not anything obscene, but fun to splash around and cool off in. So the three of us, her, her husband, and I were drinking one night and she and I decided to get in for a bit and enjoy the sun warmed water one last time. The pool was less than ten feet from the door, and behind a tree. Her neighbor came out to "smoke" in his back yard with the backyard floodlight on, as it was on motion sensor. They were out in the country a bit so using motion floodlights to scare off deer isn't uncommon. He was suspiciously far back away from his own house to where we could clearly see him and we waved so he knew we knew he was creepin. We were out there for like an hour,, then stripped on the back steps to avoid bringing wet drippy bathingsuits inside that we'd have to bring back out to dry anyway. So yeah, dude probably got to see our boobs through the tree branches for all of 10 seconds before we wrapped up in towels and ducked in. He'd hang out in his garage all day with the door open and would come out and stare at me when I drove up. I'd say hello and wave and he always just stared...They lived kinda far from me then so I'd just stay over a few nights as I could. I slept in a room with a window facing his place and I'd always put up a blackout curtain on the window, mostly so I could sleep in the mornings, but also, neighbor be creepin and I didn't want him to see me changing or sleeping.
I'm so glad that they're back in my city nearby and that they have a decent treeline between their yard and their neighbors. Also, their current neighbors aren't creepy old men who are watching them 24/7. That last part helps a lot, lol.
My neighbor is the most ratchet, awful neighbor. She blasts explicit music day and night, gets into fights, screams her business on the phone, slams doors and is a walking stereotype.

Just wanna say that HOA's are not "always" bad... I've been part of 2 and they've both been super chill, heck didn't even know I was part of the first one for years, until I needed them due to my neighbor's grass being taller than my house.
My neighbor stopped me while I was walking my great Dane to tell me how his Chihuahua wanted to mate with it. I was 13. He was 80 something. He is dead now
