@Bill Rogers (BURP) I have stage 4 Esophageal cancer. I have started chemotherapy already I go 3/20 for my second round of chemotherapy and the middle of April I start my radiation treatments 23 rounds of radiation 5 days a week. I'm going to kick cancers ass

Hello Bill, it’s better they found the blockage then not finding it and suffering at home but I’m so sorry you’re suffering with the tube. Aloha Marilyn. No sedation. Just a bit of lube and shoved down the nose. Lots of commands to swallow rather than choke! It's only a thin tube but feels so unnatural especially in the throat. When I swallow it tugs on my nose 😳Anyway, hopefully after my xray in an hour or so it will show the blockage has cleared and they can take it out 🤞❤️

A little tip I found useful for general health is to put my hands together and focus all thoughts through my hands...a bit like praying. My own thinking suggests that this activates a process that moves stale lymph from vital areas...No harm in trying.

@@billrogersburp yes I had a feeding tube up my nose when I first had my diverticulitis operation and a drainage tube in my belly because I was bleeding so bad plus I'm not gonna say I told you so because it's your own choice
It's awful that they can just be like too bad we're not coming. This is why we'd end up self transporting most of the time. My daughter would get an ileus and she'd have to have the NG tube and wait for it to resolve. Not a fun time. Thankfully they usually do resolve and you can begin eating again.
I'm very sorry to hear this happens to your daughter. It's very unpleasant. It really felt like a last resort to call for an ambulance. Helen would have driven me but I felt so poorly I couldn't move to get myself to the car. Feels pathetic saying that but it's true. Anyway, I feel good now and hope it doesn't happen again 🤞

Thank you. I am afraid we have a problem in the UK with ambulances. There are not enough to cope. Even if you get one they queue at hospitals for ages to unload into an overcrowded emergency unit. They can't then go to pick up the next patient. The hospitals say they can't release patients fit to go because of a lack of social service support (particularly elderly) and so the blockages get worse. Thank you for your support ❤️

@@billrogersburp Yes I had one inserted when I was hospitalized. The nurse who did the insertion did not use any numbing stuff and the insertion did damage and caused bleeding. Hated that feeling of it in my throat. Time moves so slowly when you have a naso gastric tube.
@DallasNatureLover Ouch! I don't think I had any numbing stuff either unless that is the gel they put on it. I thought that was to make it slide down easier. And yes it certainly makes your throat sore

Hi Kris. Yes I am afraid I did feel like one of those statistics we here about a lot. The ambulance call operator was unsympathetic and said he had to clear the line for other calls. Thank you Sandy. The surgeon told me yesterday that there was a possibility of more surgery to try to smooth out wherever the obstruction is occurring in my gut which may be scar tissue or a kink. He said 95% of the time this is not necessary, so I'm hoping I'm not the 1 in 20! 🤞

Well Cuz, since you ask I have impressed the staff here with a cheeky little no. 3 on the chart which is probably down to being very dehydrated. Someone here has the unenviable job of analysing stool samples. When I get outta this joint hopefully I can inject a bit more levity into the vlogs. Helen was a trooper today driving through the snow with me throwing up next to her. Well deserving of an IWD accolade ❤️ #ElephantMan
Once dehydration happens, can't catch up except via IV fluids. Dehydration happens quickly. I hope if I happens again, you go on to the hospital. Sounds like your Drs are on top of things.
Yes I was completely dehydrated when I arrived at hospital. They had trouble finding a vein for the drips. I get good care from my surgeon and the specialist colorectal nurses who are always at the end of a phone when I need help. If I get a blockage on future at least I will know what to expect and to get myself to hospital earlier maybe 🤔
We don't know, until we know, I've been in health care over 20yrs, I am acquainted with severe dehydration and how quickly it happens, and there is no catching up w/out IV fluids. You appear you are on the right track, will start feeling much better, next your surgeon to find the blockage and repair it. I ran across your channel, you seem like a interesting decent human, I hope a complete recovery for you.

I often think to contact you after I have seen your latest vlog but I watch on the TV and takes to long, lol. I am always here to offer support even if I'm not responding. I think you are amazing for sharing your story and hopefully even just one person dealing with the same issues will find the truth. We all have our own problems but you use yours for good. Sending the strength given to me from my late mother, she died in 2021. She was diagnosed with colon cancer at 92. I went to her, I live on the other side of Australia. I took her to her home and spent 6 weeks caring for her. She died pain free, in her own bed at 93. I have lost many to horrible cancer, friends, family and now people I meet on here. Not being morbid just I understand the journey.

I lost my own mum in August who had a very tough time with dementia and infections. In and out of hospital. It was a terrible time for everyone. I understand what you mean about watching on the TV. Bill, some advice. Give your vids a real title, not just vlog 86. Call them bowel obstruction, hospital or something so that people know what they are getting. I promise you that you'll get a lot more viewers. When I look at your list of vids, called 1-85, I have no idea which one to watch.

Under the title there is a box which comes up where I add a note to say what the video is about. I also did a compilation video at Vlog #50 which summarised the story so far. The NG procedure is a nightmare for sure...I had to have it when I was in hospital having my ileostomy.

Hi Kris. Yes I am afraid I did feel like one of those statistics we here about a lot. The ambulance call operator was unsympathetic and said he had to clear the line for other calls. I know many people abuse the system so I suppose they spoil it for the rest of us. Anyway, feel fine this morning and hoping I won't be here for long ❤️x

Yes Paula. We have a lot of problems with the ambulance workloads. The operator could have been kinder especially when he told my wife he has to clear the line for more urgent calls. 🙄

Thank you Sandy. The surgeon told me yesterday that there was a possibility of more surgery to try to smooth out wherever the obstruction is occurring in my gut which may be scar tissue or a kink. He said 95% of the time this is not necessary, so I'm hoping I'm not the 1 in 20! 🤞

Well Cuz, since you ask I have impressed the staff here with a cheeky little no. 3 on the chart which is probably down to being very dehydrated. Someone here has the unenviable job of analysing stool samples. When I get outta this joint hopefully I can inject a bit more levity into the vlogs. Helen was a trooper today driving through the snow with me throwing up next to her. Well deserving of an IWD accolade ❤️ #ElephantMan

Once dehydration happens, can't catch up except via IV fluids. Dehydration happens quickly. I hope if I happens again, you go on to the hospital. Sounds like your Drs are on top of things.
Yes I was completely dehydrated when I arrived at hospital. They had trouble finding a vein for the drips. I get good care from my surgeon and the specialist colorectal nurses who are always at the end of a phone when I need help. If I get a blockage on future at least I will know what to expect and to get myself to hospital earlier maybe 🤔
We don't know, until we know, I've been in health care over 20yrs, I am acquainted with severe dehydration and how quickly it happens, and there is no catching up w/out IV fluids.
You appear you are on the right track, will start feeling much better, next your surgeon to find the blockage and repair it. I ran across your channel, you seem like a interesting decent human, I hope a complete recovery for you.

I often think to contact you after I have seen your latest vlog but I watch on the TV and takes to long, lol. I am always here to offer support even if I'm not responding. I think you are amazing for sharing your story and hopefully even just one person dealing with the same issues will find the truth. We all have our own problems but you use yours for good. Sending the strength given to me from my late mother, she died in 2021. She was diagnosed with colon cancer at 92. I went to her, I live on the other side of Australia. I took her to her home and spent 6 weeks caring for her. She died pain free, in her own bed at 93. I have lost many to horrible cancer, friends, family and now people I meet on here. Not being morbid just I understand the journey.
@Joy Steffek Oh Joy. I'm so sorry to hear about your poor mother. I'm sure it helped her having such a caring daughter with her. I lost my own mum in August who had a very tough time with dementia and infections. In and out of hospital. It was a terrible time for everyone. I understand what you mean about watching on the TV. It's not user-friendly to type. Anyway, thank you for your kind support ❤️

Bill, some advice. Give your vids a real title, not just vlog 86. Call them bowel obstruction, hospital or something so that people know what they are getting. I promise you that you'll get a lot more viewers. When I look at your list of vids, called 1-85, I have no idea which one to watch.
Thank you Monique. I suppose I wanted to show a chronological sequence from the start rather than random titles. Under the title there is a box which comes up where I add a note to say what the video is about. I also did a compilation video at Vlog #50 which summarised the story so far. I'm planning another compressed compilation soon to save people watching hours of me. I appreciate the feedback. I am new to vlogging so it's good to know 👍
I have just tried viewing my vlogs myself using my phone. I see what you mean. There is no desription visible (maybe it works differently on a computer). When I get out I might go through each one an edit the title. Thanks again Monique 🙂
