  • Julie Luck colon cancer journey: "When you hear the word cancer, it's devastating. It's frightening. You just don't know what to expect," WFMY News 2 Anchor Julie Luck said.
She underwent a routine colonoscopy and was diagnosed with stage 3a colon cancer. She had surgery in late January. The hope was, that all the cancer was contained and the surgery would be it, but cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and chemo was ordered.
So far, there have been four chemo treatments. The actual treatment day is one thing. The impacts that come after are more than anyone wants to endure. Julie is sharing her story, her sickness, her pain, and her life-altering experience in the hopes you will get screened and avoid what she is enduring.

INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON SCREENINGS, THEY NEED TO ASK THE REAL QUESTION: WHAT CAUSES CANCER , WHY IS IT INCREASEING AND HOW CAN IT BE PREVENTED? WE NEED TO STOP FOCUSING ON THE SYMPTOMS AND START FOCUSING ON THE CAUSE!!!! THE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT IS ABOUT MAKING PROFIT NOT PREVENTION, THAT IS WHY THE DON'T FOCUS ON THE CAUSE BUT ONLY ON FIGHT THE SYMPTOMS!!!

The real reason cancer is on the rise is stress (Covid), more older people, processed foods. Screenings are life savers but so are life choices. And sometimes its a roll of the dice or genetics.

More younger ppl are getting colon cancer. Look at all these young you tubers journeying their cancer. They are in their 20s and 30s. It’s not processed meats!!

My journey has been longer with stage 4. Surgery, ct scans, everyone's journey is unique. They found mine with a screening, i also had a sign, blood in stool. The chemicals do exactly what she says. I have a port in my chest. Still going through it, was supposed to be 12 treatments but shortened to 10 with oxiplaten being dropped and just 5FU ( folfox) drip bag usually at home after clinic for 3 hours. This is not easy, had long thick hair, all thinned out. Have a therapist for anxiety etc. Changed diet and rethought my foods etc. This is horrible to go through , you have good days and bad days. Now i am on a break because i have flare ups that has not healed yet, looking better now though. Then they will start me back. I am hoping for this to be done

Wishing you good health. One more thing, in doing my family history I found out I had family from a while back that carried a gene for different cancers. It was called Lynch syndrome. It was the doctor who did my exams stated I should get my genetics check to see if I have the Lynch syndrome.. I did and I didn’t have the Lynch. I then contacted as many of my relatives as I could warning them of this syndrome. To my surprise a lot of them either have it or their kids have it. One of my first cousins, her son died from Lynch. Not only get a colonoscopy but perhaps get a genetics test. One tube of blood and a short 3 week wait. I go every 5 years for my colonoscopy. I am glad I didn’t have the gene. If you have breast cancer get genetically tested please

Yes, you are right ! Everything we eat or drink is vitally important. One major factor we're leaving out, are medicinal herbs. These are herbal plants and flowers that have healing properties our bodies needs to fight disease. There's Echinacea, Goldenseal, Turmeric, Colloidal Silver, oregano and many more. Don't know if you're a spiritual person or not, but, The Bible says, "I have given you every green herb, to you it shall be thy medicine"🌱
Many people who eat healthy, leave out the actual medicine that's needed when they get sick.
All the other drug treatments are man made and cause an enormous amount of discomfort and other problems.

I am glad...she got only 4 infusion. I went through 3 months of this exact infusion. I hated how I felt. I am glad she it worked for her. I went through 2 months of it. All her symptons she stated was exactly what I went through. My throat would just close completely to the point of feeling like I couldn't breath or anything. Get screened. It was the hardest time of my life. I had to have surgery which deformed my body for life and I am still struggling with it. I am embarrassed to be out in public but I am grateful that I get to spend more time with my kids and my partner. She was the reason for living honestly so I fought for her more than I fought for myself. I hated to see how it effected people around me. I have been following Julie's fight and trying to have it inspire me and it did to a point but honestly......only people that have to go through this know what it's like. God Blesss you Julie and I am more than happy that you fought and won.
