    This video explained it perfectly. I watched two other YT videos with the same solution of the magnets, but neither explained it so that I could understand, being a novice. A VERY BIG THUMBS UP! THANK YOU!

    Just want to say. Y’all are my hero’s. Pressure washed the camper right before a big trip and “beep, beep, beep”. Dried it out. Took the biggest magnet off the fridge (that’s beeping), and Shazam! Thank y’all so much! If you’re ever back in Texas I owe you a beer or 7. 👍👍👍

    Thanks for the video. My home refrigerator quit working and I was limping along with the Norcold in the RV until my new one was delivered. After a heavy rain the L1 error code was blinking. Your video and a magnet got me up and running.

    I have had this happen 2X when I wash my rig and I am not being careless with the water. I wash that section by hand now to avoid this problem. On the other two occasions, I dried it with a mini heater and it worked without needing the magnets. This time, I was perplexed as it did not reset and work on its own. Your video saved my bacon...thank you and all the best :)

  • @jsaarimaa
    @jsaarimaa 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Saved our bacon and the ten home cooked meals my wife had put in our freezer. Got the error code after an all night rain in Eastern ND. Traveled most of the way across the state with the fridge converted to an ice box until I discovered your video. Bought a pack of neodymium magnets at a hardware store in Beach ND ($7.00). Worked as you demonstrated. Can't thank you enough!

    We're in Texas, we had a big pop-up thunderstorm roll through in the middle of the night with high winds blowing rain right into the outside refrigerator vent. We found your video, and this morning, we did what you demonstrated, and it worked! Fortunately, we had those magnets already. Ours too is a Norcold 2016. THANK YOU! 😊 🙏 ❤

    Thanks RV Road Ramblers. Your’s is the best video instructions to follow. Some others said to remove the cover of the switch or remove the switch from the fridge. No need. Just place magnet on switch near red light and leave there until it clicks and the light goes out.

    you just saved me a gianormous headache! trip tomorrow and all of a sudden this AM found the beeping and no Dometic on AC or Propane. i was mentally figuring where to put the coolers and how much ice to buy. i googled L1op and found your video and in 10 minutes put on a very large smile! the local RV service is 6-8 week wait to get in then another 2-4 weeks while they find the parts and time to fix stuff. you gize are the biggest bottle of aspirin ever!

    Thanks for making this video! Our unit is the Norcold 3104 wherein the main circuit board is mounted sideways so it's difficult to see the face of the board itself. All the "goodies" and connections face downward when the cover is removed. Unfortunately, the motorhome sold so I won't be able to check the 5 amp fuse on the board, but will recommend this video to the new owner.

    Thank you so much! My beep started at midnight. The manual referred me to a dealer! Ugh! After a couple hours trying to figure things out (and moving food to a cooler), I Googled the codes and found this! I don't know WHY it happened... I haven't power washed for a few weeks and we're in a drought here, so it wasn't wet. The magnet did the reset, so I'll be keeping an eye on it, but now I can go back to sleep!

  • @jasonwilliams5862
    @jasonwilliams5862 ปีที่แล้ว

    My Norcold had no power at all to the controller. I noticed the red light on the limiter and thought well at least I had power to what I thought was some sort of heat sensor. I had a heavy rain fall and didn't notice the fridge being out till the next day. After feasting on food for 2 days I finally came across your video I took a small fridge magnet and tried it and POWER has turned on. Thank You!

    You saved me big time. Thanksgiving eve, just finished washing the outside of our RV an my wife says the alarm on the refrigerator is beeping. I watched this video and had 20 minutes to get to Ace Hardware. Picked op the last package and headed back. The compartment was not all that wet....damp at the very least. I used my leaf blower Then did the magnet trick.
    Worked perfect. Saved a holiday service and nothing thawed in the freezer.

    I did this on a Bighorn by Heartland. The magnet trick reset the relay. So far so good. On problem might be the left door not clicking shut, causing the refrigerator to over run. You might have to take the left door off and place a shim on the bottom pin. Left side top remove the cover with a standard screwdriver to get at 3 bolts. Norco refrigerator. Run 24 hours before placing in food.

    Yes it worked? I had to take the black box off open it and then plug all the wires back in and then used a magnet and it worked! Thanks

    • @rvroadramblers418
      @rvroadramblers418  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I haven't heard of having to remove the box or reconnecting wires yet but, if that's what worked for you then that's the ticket, right? Glad you're up and running again! Thanks for the comment and the follow-up!

    Check for yellow powder around burner. It's a sign of a leak. Will cause it to trip. DO NOT RESET IF THERE IS A LEAK. If no signs of leak check to make sure it has good ventilation at top vent. Also check to see if your model has fans on the back. If fans are not functioning it will trip it also.

    For the record, mine is a Norcold 4 door, says Model number 1210 inside but my stupid manual has N305 or 306 X. When I turned it off, after the L1 oP code, the red light stayed on, but by the time I had purchased the magnets... the red light in the panel was off. I then tried the magnet nothing happened. I turned it on, and the red light in back went on. I used the magnets and nothing happened, so I turned them around a couple times. I noticed it was as I pulled the magnets away that I heard the click and the red light went off, as if the magnets were pulling on a physical switch that had to come outward.
    I'm not sure if it was the storm, or my indoor propane heater pointed at the corner of the fridge door which got very warm. I did not notice an abundance of water inside the panel in back so I'm not sure what caused the original fault.
    Again, good luck everyone, and thanks a MILLION!
