Nice review, before I didn't really understand how it's tap function would work with only one button, but now it's all cleared up, definitely getting one!
Thanks for stopping by, my friend. Are you wondering about distortion or modulation pedals in series with the DD-6? I would likely run the DD-6 through my amps effects loop. The most ideal situation would be one where the delay would happen after all distortion, modulation, etc......just like it would happen in mother nature.
I'm making software models of guitar effects and it's surprisingly difficult to find information on what do all the knobs do and what are the actual capabilities of those devices. Thank you very much because the video was very informative!
Yes. You can send the dry signal to one amp and the effect to another amp. Same rules apply with the DD-6....you'll send your guitar into input "B". Good question.
@Antayn Thanks for stopping by brother.....sorry for the delay. The hold button gives you 5.2 seconds. Good luck; let me know how the pedal works out for you!
I have gone through various pedals including pedal boards and I like this one pedal the best. One of the things I was wondering is there a sweet spot as far as what pedal works well in series with this one? Nice review on the functions and good job explaining the loop function.
Great question. Think of the mode button, generally, as the range of the delay. For example, when it's set to 2600 ms of delay, the maximum delay can be 2600 ms.......however, to get 2600 ms, you have to have the delay time button turned clockwise as far as it can go. If you turn the delay time button all the way down it will provide the delay at the shorter end of the range which is 800 ms. So, in reality, the 2600 ms setting is the range of 800 ms to 2600 ms. Does this make sense?
Hi AskAGuitarPro. I just bought this so it is on its way, but i've got a question regarding the Hold position. For how long can you record/have it played back? Thanks Antayn
Hi Steven. If you blow up the video to full screen size you can faintly see the black input cable I used.....it's pretty much lost in the black background. Good stuff....thx. for stopping by!
I literally just bought one of these today.. It was a used one on a clearance rack, best 80 dollars ever spent I'd say. Thank you sir for breaking down its functions in a presentable manner. Was not aware you can phrase loop, question though is there a maximum amount of time it allows for the beginning loop before cutting off the signal or can you make it as long as desired? (Fall back is it isnt able to save each individual phrase during, but I own a boss rc-300 for this anyhow-winner!)
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you select the 800 ms in the mode section and then use the tempo/tap function.....i.e. holding down the pedal for more than 2 seconds and then choose your tempo.
Personally, I wouldn't run any thing in the effects loop other than the delay. Gear wise, like yourself, I've had a lot of pedals over the years. However, I've scaled back. For my modulation, I'm running a Dunlop Univibe (the big box), Vox 847A Wah, and a Barber Tone Press. That's it. Delay wise, I like the DD-6, but I'm actually using an MXR Carbon Copy....also a very warm delay pedal.
@AskAGuitarPro hum...kind of made sense lol.but thats ok.i think i'm starting to get it now :P thanks dude! ;) keep making demos!you're good at it! =) cheers!
Never realy understood the delays..the mode makes whats?like...if it's miliseconds it should be the time right?but theres always a time knob...dont understand..if you could explain it to me that would be much appreciated ;) thanks a lot!good demos! keep up the good work! cheers dude! =)
Good question. Think of it in terms of having two ears. Stereo means you are receiving audio input into both ears....i.e. two channels. Mono means you are receiving audio input only on one side....one channel. Many recording engineers use this to their advantage as they can change the amount of audio signal coming into each side/channel or "ear". If you listen carefully, you'll notice this on many of your favorite songs......ever notice how a big drum roll starts in your right ear and finishes in your left?
Hi Carlos. I've looked all over and I can't seem to find if the two are compatible. Do you want me to try to contact their customer service group? Maybe they would know?
+Wes Dowdy Hi Wes. I haven't done an extensive review of the differences. It appears that a good majority of the changes are related to the layout/format of the buttons on the pedal. The DD-6 seems to be a little more user friendly. Also....The DD-6 is different with respect to the Warp, Hold, and pan functions.
Why does this pedal sound so bad when you use the delay with a decent amount of distortion?.It looses all clarity and sounds terrible. Is there a way around this or could you make a video using distortion and this pedal..please and thank you..
I guess my question is if you had a dd-6 and your choice of other devices, which would you pair with it. Considering that I use a Marshall mg100fx and the dd-6 is in the effects loop and that the little distortion that I use is fine with the mg100, is there a complimentary device that matches up with a dd-6 in the effects loop?
victor cm Victor cm. I think the DD-6 & DD-7 have a few more options that the DD-3. Plus, I believe the DD-3 doesn't have stereo outputs. Thanks for the question
very clear & concise. learned a lot about this pedal I've owned for years & never truly used ALL thr functions demonstrated here. thanks again.
Think watching this has just saved me loads, now I know how to use it !! Great demo !
Nice review, before I didn't really understand how it's tap function would work with only one button, but now it's all cleared up, definitely getting one!
Thank you for the demo on the DD6 you gave me great insights foe a pedal I've had for years and validation on the the settings I use
+Mike Peshel No problem, Mike. Glad you stopped by.:)
Cool Demo... Ive Had This Pedal For Yrs, But Thanx To Ur Demo' Im Re-discovering it again,,, Cheers !
Very good demo! It made me buy one.

Thanks for stopping my friend. See you on the next one!
Great video. $60 at my local shop used. Will definitely be getting this.

Great demo! I`m sure gonna get one. I think I got lucky on a $50 dollar deal. Thanks!
+Gibbson Berbigal Thanks Gibbson. Good for you; hope you enjoy it!

Really glad you stopped by Chris. Feel free to check out the AskAGuitarPro website as well. Take care!
I use it for Harmonica.Outstanding sound on any amp.
Right on brother.
I can see you in the plug playing guitar! :) Nice demo
I have that exact guitar cord and this pedal as well. Mildly interesting.
I have that guitar cord
@Antayn
Thanks for stopping by brother.....sorry for the delay.

Try using the tap function. You'll need to hit the pedal with your foot eight times per measure of music to set it correctly. Thanks for the question!
Thanks Normand....glad you stopped by. If you are interested, check out the AskAGuitarPro website as well. See you on the next one!

Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to ask any question.....I really don't mind. Catch You!

Antayn
what kind of ac adapter does it use? 9v?
Good catch.....but yes, it's actually plugged in. I used a video image before I plugged it in.
I am curious how you are getting these effects without plugging your guitar into the pedal….
Hi Steven. If you blow up the video to full screen size you can faintly see the black input cable I used.....it's pretty much lost in the black background. Good stuff....thx. for stopping by!
Ahahah GLASSES IS THE ANSWER.
Steven Kortyka lol
It's a ghost lead :)

This is a good question.....I just can't remember, my friend. Too long since I did the demo!
I want to buy that one. :D
Does it have a tail effect when i turn off the pedal? Delays lingers for a bit
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you select the 800 ms in the mode section and then use the tempo/tap function.....i.e. holding down the pedal for more than 2 seconds and then choose your tempo.
Sooo... no guitar pluged in the imput jack?

9V works.....always best to use a boss recommended power source.
You'd be surprised how much a short delay adds to a guitar tone.
Dd6 is Limited Edition right?
Any time, my friend. Feel free to check out the AskAGuitarPro website, as well. Thx!
how would i make this pedal make a .8th note plz help
Never realy understood the delays..the mode makes whats?like...if it's miliseconds it should be the time right?but theres always a time knob...dont understand..if you could explain it to me that would be much appreciated ;) thanks a lot!good demos! keep up the good work! cheers dude! =)
Hi i buy a boss dd 6 eco plz help me
Had no idea this had tap tempo! 😅
@AskAGuitarPro Sure!nice dude! ;)

This works with the fs5u boss footswitch? I have the same one, it's amazing...thanks for the video, really helpful.
Hi Carlos. I've looked all over and I can't seem to find if the two are compatible. Do you want me to try to contact their customer service group? Maybe they would know?
AskAGuitarPro of course man, really apreciate! greetings from Colombia.
I don't think it is compatible. Don't you need a special input for expression / tap tempo? They have that on the DD7, and DD3T, but not this one
Hi,dd3 or dd6 ?
Does anyone else get a kind of metallic sound from the delay? Not in the video but at home...
Yes, low time delay
You bet. More on the askaguitarpro website, as well, if you're interested my friend. Thx!
what's the difference between the dd 5 and the dd 6 ?
+Wes Dowdy Hi Wes. I haven't done an extensive review of the differences. It appears that a good majority of the changes are related to the layout/format of the buttons on the pedal. The DD-6 seems to be a little more user friendly. Also....The DD-6 is different with respect to the Warp, Hold, and pan functions.
man, digitech digidelay or this Boss dd-6? please
Hi Braulio. I haven't tried the digidelay, but the Boss DD-6 does have pretty much all the features you would need.
DD6 price
a buddy of mine is selling for 20, im gonna go for the steal lol
That dude must have a serious drug problem if he's selling this pedal for that amount. LOL! I've had this pedal for years and it's awesome.
I came here specifically to see the feedback knob....
Why does this pedal sound so bad when you use the delay with a decent amount of distortion?.It looses all clarity and sounds terrible. Is there a way around this or could you make a video using distortion and this pedal..please and thank you..
When you say "Tap" setting don't you mean "Tempo" setting?
Yes....tempo and tap are one in the same, here. It's frequently referred to "tap" on many other delay pedals. Thanks for adding that, my friend.
whats the difference between dd3 and dd6?
Hi Vicente. From what I can tell, the dd6 offers some longer delay times and also has the reverse function. Thanks for stopping. Have a great on.
@@AskAGuitarPro thx bro

How do you make it dotted eighth note??? Plzz help
i got this for 50 just now. but i dont know to use it. hahaha
What is the difference between this pedal the DD6, and the models DD3 and DD7? This pedal has reverberation effect ? Thank you
victor cm Victor cm. I think the DD-6 & DD-7 have a few more options that the DD-3. Plus, I believe the DD-3 doesn't have stereo outputs. Thanks for the question
AskAGuitarPro Thank you
+victor cm DD3 has got shorter delay and can't do REVERSE and Tap tempo feature..
Philip Cooper Thank you
Um wait a minute, so you're showing us how a delay pedal sounds and the reverb on your amp is also on the signal. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Great demo! Thanks
Ernest Ahverdov Thx. for stopping by.....appreciate it Ernest!
