    That reverse mode sounds really cool. I have a lot of delay pedals and I've been told that the DD-5 is kind of special. Usually I'm not big on the stereotypical sterile digital delay sound but this demo sounds rather pleasant!

    By far the best delay made by Boss. Sounds as good as the Japan DD3 but have the versatilty that DD3 doesn't have. I've owned many delay's pedals and that DD5 is unique with its cristal clear repeats and it doesn't sound sterile like many digital delays. I love it for the reasons i wrote. People try to find one you will not be disappointed.

    David Gilmour still uses two DD-2s. I use a DD-7and a DD-5 hooked up via an FS6-U for tap syncing, a Dunlop Echoplex for tape delay, and a Maxon AD9 Pro for analog BBD single/dual delay (wet/dry, I use two amps) - with a Nemesis Delay sitting in a cupboard.
    The Dunlop, Boss, and Maxon are small pedals and connected to my loop switcher don't take up much space. The Nemesis...without MIDI the presets have to accessed by bending down and pressing these little buttons. Not practical for live work.

    • @robb4340
      @robb4340 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think a DD-5 is special enough to add if you have a DD-7 and DD-2 and DSD-2 on the board? while the DD-2 and DSD-2 are basically the same I was thinking to swap one for a DD-5 for more flavours. for analog delay I have a DM-2w.

    • @mattgilbert7347
      @mattgilbert7347 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robb4340 I sold my DD7. It's cool, but my Nemesis can do everything it does and more (and I'm finally learning to use it LOL) - and I got another delay to replace the DD7 anyway. The DD5 *is* kinda special. It's on my medium-sized jam/rehearsal board hooked up to a Visual Sound Tap delay V3 (the replacement), which I prefer as it has better modulation than the DD7, more subdivisions- and a tone control. It's a winner! I put it up against my old Replica Delay and it sounded just as good (I have accumulated a lot of delays because I'm old :) )
      I'm considering a DSD-2 because I can get one cheap. If you're gonna sell yours put in on Reverb or eBay and, if it's cheaper than the other one I'm looking at, I'll probably buy it XD XD
      A good friend of mine had two DD5s, he bought my DD7 and loves the two together.

      @@robb4340 This is a comprehensive demo. The hold function, combined with another stereo effect like a rotary, a stereo vibe, chorus, phaser, tremolo (whatever you prefer, it doesn't have to be fancy) gets you a cool surround-sound, 3D effect. Even without another pedal, that function is super-cool. The first two repeats go around in a panned loop. Sweeet (if you're using two amps or DI-ing in stereo, ofc)

      @@robb4340 The DD5 is a less "sterile" digital delay than the DD7. It might go well with your DD2/DSD2 and DM-2w.
      I always have one digital and one analog delay on a board. If I had to pick from the small-format Boss range, I'd probably go with a DD7 or DD5 and a DM-2W.
      Hope that helps.
