The sights may be set up for 124gr nato spec considering it was manufactured in Turkey. 115 gr will generally shoot low especially if the sights are regulated for heavier bullet.
Some "shifting" is typical for a BHP, it is because there is a transfer bar in the slide between the trigger and the sear so any play in between the rails and the slide has to be taken up as trigger creep. You would probably really like the BHP Pachmayer signature grips that have a checkered front panel.
Crazy how this is more of the modernized hi power than that thing FN put out. A rail AND an optic cut? If this thing’s reliable it might be a real winner
@@Stephen_M02 I love it. It's a great gun. I have shot 115 grain Critical Defense and MagTech with it without any issues. I have about 300 rounds thru it and it has loosened up a bit since I put more rounds thru it.
Another thought to add: I'd dare say this is a great alternative to 2011s, as it has all the bells and whistles as one and yet has many features that's been around for a long time. I might bump this up my "to purchase" list above 2011s given your review. Lastly, my Girsan 1911 seems to be slighly low, and while I recognize part of the problem is my flinch/anticipation, the other part (I think) is that it was made for combat hold vs 6 o'clock hold. Maybe the sights were made for Combat hold on this one too?
‘Might want to drop in a BH Spring Solutions target barrel. That would probably cure the low/left impact. ‘Might want to explore their “Safety Fast” hammer system for safe carry too..
Awesome review here, very thorough and testing so many various calibers is the icing on the cake. EAA has been doing some interesting releases, for example the .380 tip-up and there's a new compensated one in 10mm or something like that.
A relative of mine inherited a Belgian Browning Hi-Power recently. I told him not to shoot it and that got me looking at the Springfield/EAA clones but I would want a full size and not a 3.8" barrel.
Outside of the fact that it's a little small for double XL hands, I think it did very well especially considering the cost. I've got an original BHP Practical that I love but I might have to have one of these lightweight Girsans too
Ohhh my, a MUST have for me !! Restomod indeed !! Just the way I like 'em !! That beavertail looks like a very welcome adaptation. I have XXL/XXXL hands, so I imagine my pinky will be just below the magazine...something I have become used to.
I’m subscribing to this channel bc: this guy is honest, he’s value minded, he’s not full of sh i tz like most of these gun TH-camrs… and he shoots paper and not those stupid metal plates all the time. Most of these gun TH-camrs that all these internet dorks are slurping on aren’t even shooters. Anybody can clip a damn metal plate and make it go ding. However the fellah on this channel is willing to actually show his skills and give you a true accuracy report on video. Good job, Sir !!!
I would opt for the full length barrel design. I found hiding ~5” barrel on 6’ tall man body is not difficult. The compact barrel length is not needed. The shorter grip of a 15” magazine does not present a problem for my non XXXL hands !
I really like the idea of a hi-power with a light rail, this is the only one I have seen that has one. But Military arms channel did a video on the full size version and it did not look that good quality wise.
Short version of the MCCC 35 match Ops. Cool. I found my MC35 Match didn't shoot very accurately. I bought a Brownell's barrel for the Hi-Power, and it improved a bit. I think the Girsan barrels aren't top notch.
Love the look and the design just not sure how much I like it or of I like it enough to buy it. It does check all the boxes with the rail the red dot cut and size. Would make a great cc weapon if it pans out
Thanks for sharing your shooting impressions. I have to say that it shooting low was a little disappointing. Perhaps it may have an adjustable rear sight to compensate for the low POI.
Extreme light seven sub is really needed on this gun because it should have one. Plus it’s gonna stop a lot of that snap. A comp would help too. Both really tamed my Hellcat RDP into a kitten with a 3.7” barrel. Have to have adjustable rear sight as a bare minimum.
We don't modify firearms for review because then it's no longer a review of the firearm, it's a review of one particular setup. The intent is that you see what the gun does alone and can modify it as you see fit.
You'll be looking for a Match model instead of the Ops model with the rail, but I don't know if they make one in alloy (they do in steel). The rear sight is attached to the optic plate, so by switching to a Holosun K footprint optic, the rear sight is molded into the optic.
I've never cared for fiber-optic sights. They confuse the sight picture. Are you supposed to put the *center* of the lit circle at the height of the rear sight or the top of the circle (top of the post) at the height of the rear sight? This varies with different guns. I think the case here may be that they expect you to center the lit circle at the height of the rear sight, and this is why you are hitting low. I will buy one of these and if it shoots low like your review (and several others I've watched) replace that front sight with an aftermarket plain black sight.
So what is protruding from the front of the receiver when the slide is locked back? th-cam.com/video/oK4dAjeBPJ4/w-d-xo.html That isn't what you see with an original FN receiver with a an FN High Power. New spare part? I will add... WTF with the 1911 coat hook/beavertail at the bottom of the frame?
Odd you had such a similar experience. For us it's simple: you're seeing every shot we have through a gun from first shot to the end of a review. That means I have a slim chance of figuring out a hold for all 11 types of ammo used when sights are slightly off.
I don't use optics because the specific optic you chose can have a big impact on the gun's performance. The weight of the optic, shape, size, and angle of glass can deflect brass differently and cause some loads to not work, etc. If I run an optic I am no longer showing THE gun, I would be testing one of several possible setups and unless you clone that setup you can't reasonably expect the same results. It's a bit misleading to review a gun with any modifications to it.
@@GBGuns That's fair. But if manufacturer CHOSE to incorporate red dot cut - the gun should work with popular red dots like RMR. If it doesn't - then gun is not good. Would be great to test optics-ready handguns with 2 red dots - super light one like Shield RMS(c) and a heaviest one like Swampfox Kraken. I'm sure some pistols will not eject a round with a heavy red dot. But i know i'm asking for too much 😀
@Mike-yy4ll but then ammo becomes even more of a factor. I've seen brass bounce off a dot and stop the slide. We've seen 115gr range loads vary in energy by over 30%. You see the more we change the gun the more other factors come into play and the less a true review of the gun it becomes. Almost any gun can be setup to run great or run poorly. This is why we always (and other channels never) detail out what ammo we're running and what we know of that ammo.
If you ever have to draw, fire 2 rounds, at someone 3 feet from you, in 2 seconds or less, the television on top is pointless in most real gunfights. Optics will change/fail before your firearms.
I am afraid to watch this video. I have had this on the watchlist for a while but just had to replace my truck from the hurricane so needless to say it would be bad to go spend money on this! Why? Why? Why? First world problems! Lol
Then the test is flawed. Your teaching bad habits. Would you use practical shooting to test ammo for accuracy for a given pistol? that would be a know. Maybe should do both, practical and bench so you can see if the gun is better than the shooter and by how much. Right?
@@TheBlueberry606 Most firearms are mechanically more accurate than a human shooter can be, and this action type and rifling has been proven for almost a century. There's not much point in bench shooting as it is impractical.
