My favorite part of Tom Bombadil appearing in rings of power was I knew he would be returning in Charlie's videos, also I feel Charlie's representation of Bombadil is more accurate.

@@MeNoOther Except in the books the Stoors were nomadic and the the Harfoots were sedentary, idk what value Amazon saw in swapping their roles, but that may be the most obscure inconsistency in a show absolutely filled with many more blatant ones. It's not that Amazon is inventing new major characters or races (that would actually be fine since it would just be adding to the lore), it's that they are taking the original characters and portraying them drastically different than they were represented in the books. While the timeline being fucked up is pretty understandable given the length of time the show is meant to cover, they make so many lore breaking decisions that seem to serve no purpose, such as having two Durins alive at the same time when he's supposed to be reincarnated like the Dalai Lama.

This series has genuinely encouraged me to have friends over to watch shows and movies. Seeing these guys snugged up in the lounge really triggers the need to do that.
We extras were flagging on the set of "X-Men 3: The last stand" out in Vancouver back in the day. Cold wet November, and we were doing night shoots.... Our war cries started slumping, morale was low.... And THEN doesn't Sir Ian turn around to us in full Magneto costume and proceed to deliver "Once more, into the breach..." in a full Shakespeareian style. The War Cries were strong henceforth, I tell you. Low the series, love the work, Charlie! Keep it up!

So Rings of Power appears to set this confrontation with Barrow Wrights ... in a wood ... not by the Barrows ... on the Downs ??!!! DOh! Tyrn Gorthad, The Barrow-downs, were a series of treeless hills upon whose tops were scattered barrows (burial mounds) and standing stones. The Barrow-downs were a 'treeless' chalky country that was covered with grass and turf, though at the edges of the downs isolated glades of trees could cling in valleys and clefts scattered about in clumps, sometimes appearing to crowd around the foot of a hill as if trying to surround and isolate a canker.
Nevermind the fact that the barrow downs and their wights wouldn't even exist for several thousand more years, but I guess they needed **something** familiar to shoehorn in and immediately mess up. With every episode the show is turning more into a remix of Tolkien's greatest hits than an actual story, and I'm all for it. More things to parody.

It's because the Elrond in ROP is meant to be a younger version of LOTR Elrond, hence baby elrond shenanigans
But in one of the episodes he had a ring that kept him young, and once he took it off he became adult size
