The best scene of Invictus, the crowd sings 'Shshaloza' while Fracois Piennaar (Matt Demon) motivates the Springboks for the last 7 minutes. With Dutch subtitels.
what? ahahahahah whole millennia without ever developing by itself. We had to get the European whites to teach them to live (and they never learned it)
I come from asia (philippines, to be specific) and I have SO MUCH RESPECT FOR S. AFRICA and what the Xhosa-speaking Nelson Mandela did to defy the apartheid. What's more is that he knew he couldn't defeat the whites who were led by Constand Viljoen so he won their hearts instead. What should be said here is that S. Africa is actually a very great country and had a very great peace since the end of the apartheid era.the springboks and Pienaar are pretty awesome too.
Watch the game tomorrow, South Africa one nation, one team #GoBokke I hope to go to the Dominican Republic one day with love from Pietermaritzburg South Africa
Even as a Wallaby supporter I get goosebumps when I watch this clip. It's a pity that we do not have the great uplifting music of Shosholoza for our games.
The real thing was the best Joel Stransky,s drop goal in extra time was the defining moment.I met him some later & asked him about that goal he told me it was the sweetest kick he ever made from the moment it left his boot he knew it was a thru. Thanks for the clip the movie was very enjoyable.
Amazingly, i just finished watching this film again today after it's first year of realise. Had so much to learn from it. It preached forgiveness, togetherness, oneness, ability to work as a team and so many more. Had rolls of tears fall of my eyes in the process too. RIP Madiba.
I bitterly disappointed when we didnt win this world with arguably the best all black team ever at a world cup...but in saying that this is world cup that SA needed more than us. They deserved it well and for good reasons
My class was watching this movie and no one else didn't walk out of the class was disappointed. All you could see was a bunch of kids inspired and motivated
@nkssttmz Actually, the song is spelled "Tshotsholoza". I just sang this song in choir this quarter. But good on you for pointing out the fact that yes, the title is misspelled.
Unfortunately the current government has done what Mandela didn't want- turned it into us and them. That is what happened in Zimbabwe and it's got them nowhere and South Africa is following the same path. As Mandela says in the movie, the Whites still were responsible for a lot of government services and economic contribution. By disenfranchising them instead of working with them it creates discourse and hence social problems and the country loses a lot of important contributions, thus reducing it's economic and hence social prosperity. Even their rugby team has gone down that path. They could be a lot better and maybe even win another one of these if they picked the best teams at all levels, rather than picking based on racial quotas an thus omitting some of the best players.
+Alan Mayer Pretty bad. I'd say they would be on par. The injury rate for broken bones and fatality rate is higher in Rugby. My city (Brisbane) has had a couple young guys die in the last couple years. Both I think were from big chest impacts.
man you know I'm a white south african and it's weird how after black liberation the rugby team is still white dominated...haha I mean there's about 4.5 million of us and 35 mill of blacks haha.. but glad we together. go bokke
Because I protested National Service, I can not go home, I can not be Nelson Mandella and can not share my countrymens love of this beautiful song, as a Professional Singer, been on TV, I face certain jail for coming home, the emotional hurt the sacrifice of Australia Vcitimzing young school students merely born there as a political symbol has cost me the innocense in the film, we were forced to watch illegal films as part of our shooling here, the scars bury deep I sing in 22 Languages.
A lot of the white people who left in the 80s and 90s had an issue with apartheid and/or its socioeconomic consequences. It's what happened after he left and Mbeki was politically disabled that really screwed the country over. There is no logic behind taking resources away from the most educated, skilled and financially astute sector of the population and giving it to people who don't have the skills to grow what thy are given, while leaving the former party feeling short changed and looking to apply their skills in another part of the world where there is more opportunity. Of course the system will fail.
we were watching this movie in my history class and i got chills during this scene
Mollie Boggs sameeeeeeeeeee I finished watching it today

Speaking as a Norwegian football (soccer) fan with no intrest or clue in rugby, I can truly say, this clip gives me goosebumps.

I would say this would have to be the best song of the movie.
This scene is about so much more then sports.
I bitterly disappointed when we didnt win this world with arguably the best all black team ever at a world cup...but in saying that this is world cup that SA needed more than us. They deserved it well and for good reasons

@Distrub122334 The song is Shosholoza. The version on the Invictus soundtrack is from Overtone and Yollandi Nortjie
NO MORE LOSES FOR MY RUGBY TEAM
Best Movie Ever made
@DeadliestArt It's "Shosholoza", a popular south african song. You can listen several versions right here.
Best day of my life
@nkssttmz Actually, the song is spelled "Tshotsholoza". I just sang this song in choir this quarter. But good on you for pointing out the fact that yes, the title is misspelled.
second time missing? We all want to be near Nelson Mandella, we keep in our prayers.
A deeply divided country that put aside their conflict to unite....Nelson Mendela chose a hard path over an easy path.
Can we have this united South Africa and start moving our country forward. We have potential

I wonder what is the concussion rate for Rugby and how does that compare with football?
+Alan Mayer Pretty bad. I'd say they would be on par. The injury rate for broken bones and fatality rate is higher in Rugby. My city (Brisbane) has had a couple young guys die in the last couple years. Both I think were from big chest impacts.
Brain damage is way more ussual in football though

Cheaters
Matt Damon has more World Cups then Ierland
as much as i love the film, hollywood really shouldn't try and do rugby again, it just looks stupid.
That game was rigged!!
We all know what happend to South Africa when Mandela took over....... 1 million whites left.
It was their decision, anyway he brought many back
