It was the very goal that Mandela needed to unite the country after decades of apartheid and racial discrimination. Mandela and Francois Pienaar were a fantastic pair to work together in taking the Springboks all the way to the World Cup. The New Zealand All Blacks were a very worthy team to play against. They made Pienaar push his team to their limits and beyond, to give it their all and no holding back. That is what makes your country's rugby team one of the greatest, too. I tip my hat to the All Blacks as excellent and skilled rivals to the Springboks for giving us the greatest rugby game ever in the history of the sport. God bless both South Africa and New Zealand and their respective teams.
My husband, who is South African, introduced me to rugby. It remains the only sport I regularly watch. I love this movie and it still makes me cry. I love the scene where the bodyguard, who is always so serious, is grabbed and hugged by a total stranger. He doesn't know what to do, and we almost see a smile!
